Chapter 628: Stop Pointing

Ji Wan walked up to him step by step, his eyes cold and without a trace of warmth. "The success of the project has made you famous, and I'm happy for you. But this doesn't mean you have the right to dictate my private life."

She stopped in front of him, her voice very low, but more weighty than any scolding.

"Mind your own business, Mr. Feng. It's not your turn to take care of my affairs."

She raised her chin, pointed in the direction of the door, and ordered him to leave: "Report that I have accepted it, you can leave now."

Feng Lou clenched his jaw tightly as he stared at the woman before him, shock, embarrassment, and a subtle hint of resentment swirling in his eyes. Finally, without a word, he picked up his briefcase, turned around, and quickly left.

The sound of a door closing with a bang brought silence back to the living room.

Ji Wan was still standing there, the cold aura enveloping him still not dissipating.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into a broad, warm chest. Chi Wenyan's chin rested lightly on her shoulder, and his deep voice rang in her ears.

"He's not wrong."

Ji Wan's body suddenly stiffened.

"I am indeed an asshole." He tightened his embrace, his lips pressed against her ear, his voice thick with regret, "I have caused you so much injustice."

He turned her around to face him, holding her face in his hands, his deep eyes filled with heartache and self-blame.

"If you don't want to go, we won't go. From now on, I'll accompany you no matter who you don't want to see or what you don't want to do."

The frost on Ji Wan's face cracked under his burning gaze, and finally melted completely. Her tense shoulders relaxed, and she leaned obediently into his arms, letting out a sigh of relief.

This man is her husband and also her most solid ally.

That's enough.

A few months later, in early autumn, the air was clear and the sun was warm.

In the grand theme park, cheerful music floats in every corner, a huge colorful castle stands under the blue sky, and carefree laughter is everywhere.

Ji Wan held Nian Nian's hand and patiently watched the cartoon ducks swimming around in the pool. The little girl was no longer the sickly girl she once was. Now, her face was rosy, her eyes were bright, and she was wearing a pink princess dress. She looked like an elf fallen into the mortal world, and every step she took was filled with vigorous vitality.

"Mom, duck!" Nian Nian stretched out her chubby little hand and pointed, her voice clear and loud.

Ji Wan's eyes were filled with a gentle smile. She squatted down and looked her daughter in the eye. "Yes, it's Yaya. Does Nian Nian like it?"

"like!"

Not far away, Chi Wenyan was holding Yaoyao in one hand and carrying a mommy bag full of baby supplies in the other. His tall and straight figure was particularly eye-catching in the crowd.

Yaoyao had just finished drinking milk and was leaning his little head on his father's broad shoulders, with drooping eyelids and looking drowsy.

Chi Wenyan walked over slowly, looked down at his wife and daughter, the doting in his eyes almost overflowing.

"This little lazy bum can't hold on any longer," he said softly to Ji Wan, and then turned his gaze to the excited Nian Nian, "What else does Nian Nian want to play? Daddy will take you there."

Ji Wan stood up and took the sleeping Yaoyao from his arms, gently adjusting his posture so that his son could sleep more comfortably.

"Go play the carousel with Nian Nian. She's been talking about it all the way."

"Okay." Chi Wenyan agreed without hesitation, leaned over and kissed Yaoyao on the chubby cheek, then took Nian Nian's hand, "Let's go, my little princess, let's go take a big carriage."

Ji Wan sat on a bench not far away, holding Yaoyao in his arms, his eyes following the two figures, one tall and one small. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled spots of light on him and his daughter.

Chi Wenyan carefully carried Nian Nian onto the most gorgeous white wooden horse, and stood aside, protecting her tightly with his arms, his eyes full of her.

The music started and the carousel started slowly. Nian Nian's happy laughter came through the crowd, as clear as a wind chime.

Ji Wan's lips curled up unconsciously, and a warm current enveloped her body, dispelling all the gloom and anxiety of the past. This moment of peace and happiness was a luxury she had never dared to imagine.

At this moment, a few suppressed exclamations and whispers were heard nearby.

"Look at that man! Is he Chi Wenyan from the Chi Group? Oh my God, he's a hundred times more handsome in person than in the financial magazines!" A young girl excitedly pulled her companion's arm.

"It's really him! He actually came to a place like this! And the little girl next to him is so cute! The woman holding the child is his wife Ji Wan, right? Didn't they say before that they were getting a divorce?"

"Looking at this, how could they possibly be planning a divorce? They're incredibly loving, aren't they? Look at Mr. Chi's eyes, they're glued to his wife and kids the entire time! The looks of this family of four are simply incredible!"

More and more people noticed them, their gazes casting over with curiosity, envy, and amazement. Many had already quietly raised their phones, aiming at this incredibly beautiful scene.

After one round, Chi Wenyan walked back with a feeling of unsatisfied desire. He immediately noticed the commotion around him.

He did not show any displeasure at all. Instead, he turned sideways very naturally and used his body to protect Ji Wan and Yaoyao in his arms in a safer position.

He leaned over and leaned close to Ji Wan's ear, his warm breath brushing against her earlobe. "Mrs. Chi, it's our family day today, and there are quite a lot of people in the audience."

Ji Wan raised her head and met his smiling eyes, feeling at ease.

In the past, she might have felt uncomfortable because of these gazes, but now, her heart is filled with peace and pride.

She looked at the upright man in front of her, at her healthy and lively daughter in his arms, and then at her son sleeping peacefully in her arms.

"Then let them see." Her voice was not loud, but it revealed an unquestionable confidence. "Let them see how happy I, Mrs. Chi, am now."

The smile in Chi Wenyan's eyes instantly became hot.

He loved her confident and outspoken look.

Amidst the low gasps around him, he lowered his head and without hesitation gave Ji Wan a passionate kiss on the forehead.

He held Nian Nian in one hand and Ji Wan's waist with the other, helping her to stand easily. The family of four basked in the warm autumn sun and the attention of everyone, forming a perfect picture called "happiness" that could make any headline.

By the time we returned to the villa, the night had already cast a veil of tranquility over the city. Nian Nian and Yao Yao had already fallen asleep in the car on the way back, sweet smiles of satisfaction still plastered on their delicate little faces.
