Female Protagonist Synopsis: Bai Nuo, a seasoned single woman from the 21st century, was strutting towards the path of a "scumbag woman" after buying a house and a car. Suddenly, she became...
Hu Mingmei and Xia Donglai went back last night, but Lu Ying stayed behind. Bai Nuo didn't know why Lu Ying didn't go with Hu Mingmei, but since Lu Ying wanted to stay, Bai Nuo could only arrange a room for him.
"You can't go. I'll be watching the shop; nothing will go wrong!" Jiang Qiao'er said coldly, her expressionless face frightening Jiang San Niang.
Jiang San Niang wondered to herself, when did she become so afraid of Qiao'er?
"Qiao'er, let's go!" The matter was almost settled. Jiang Qiao'er wouldn't let Jiang San Niang go out, so Jiang San Niang naturally couldn't go out. After Bai Nuo called out Aunt Liu and helped Jiang San Niang back to her room, he invited Jiang Qiao'er to get in the car, and the four of them headed towards the town.
When they arrived at the shop, Duobaoge was not yet open, but there was already someone waiting in front of the door—not Hu Mingmei, but Qinghe, the girl who had sold herself yesterday.
Bai Nuo got out of the carriage and asked Lu Ying to drive it to San Niang Cloth Shop. Then she walked over. Qinghe heard the noise and turned around to look at her. Only then did Bai Nuo realize that Qinghe was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday and still looked disheveled.
I don't know if she didn't wash or sleep all night or if she just waited here all night.
"What are you doing here?" Bai Nuo asked.
"I'll wait for you!" Qinghe replied softly.
Bai Nuo walked over, opening the door as she said, "I really don't need you to do anything for me, and likewise, I won't do anything for you!"
We already have Aunt Liu at home; she's as capable as three people. She can handle everything at home perfectly well. The shop does need good people, but it doesn't need a clueless young girl.
No, it should be said that she doesn't need a little girl who would cause her trouble.
Qinghe lowered his head and remained silent.
Bai Nuo ignored her, opened the door and went inside. Unexpectedly, Qing He followed her in. After watching Bai Nuo go inside the counter, sit down, and start processing the pearls, Qing He started doing her own thing.
When there were no guests, Qinghe would find a rag somewhere and wipe everything inside and out, including the floor. When there were guests, he would guide them to sit down and then make tea for them.
She was quick and efficient, wiping the floor and tables until they shone. Apart from being startled when the guests first saw that her face was covered in dust, they didn't say anything else.
Bai Nuo saw her frowning, but after thinking about it, she decided to ignore her. Perhaps this way, she would find it pointless to keep working and would leave on her own.
To everyone's surprise, Qinghe didn't leave during lunch, and he still didn't leave after get off work.
In the evening, Hu Mingmei was waiting for her outside when Bai Nuo ran out and said apologetically to Hu Mingmei, "You go back first, you don't need to see me off today, I have something to do here."
Hu Mingmei frowned as he looked at her.
Bai Nuo said in a low voice, "That girl stayed here with me all day yesterday, doing all sorts of chores, and didn't eat a single bite of food all day."
Bai Nuo felt bad about not feeding the girl, so he insisted on letting her have dinner before going home, even if she didn't want him.
Hu Mingmei glanced inside the Treasure Pavilion, where the lights were already on, and a figure was wiping the table.
Hu Mingmei nodded and turned to leave.
After Hu Mingmei left, Bai Nuo took a deep breath, returned to the shop, and said to Qinghe, "Don't work anymore, I'm going home!"
Qinghe stopped as expected, picked up the rag, lowered her head, and without looking at Bai Nuo, said in a low voice, "Oh, then I'll go first!"
As she was saying this, she actually started to walk outside. Bai Nuo grabbed her arm. Qinghe's fingers had already turned white from being soaked in water. You wouldn't know unless you pinched them; Qinghe's wrists were even smaller than Jiang Qiao'er's.
Why did she buy the bracelet?
Bai Nuo could never understand it.
Qinghe looked up at her, her eyes full of doubt. When they compared, Bai Nuo realized that this person was much shorter than her.
But we're all only thirteen or fourteen years old.
"Have dinner before you leave!" Bai Nuo said calmly. "You can go to the backyard through that door. Go wash up first, and then we'll go eat!"
"You're willing to take me?" Qinghe asked in surprise.
Bai Nuo shook her head. "I just feel bad that you've been here all day without having lunch. I'd feel bad if I didn't treat you to dinner! Go ahead!"
Bai Nuo gave Qinghe a push, and Qinghe left, looking back every few steps. Bai Nuo didn't leave, but stood there waiting for her.
Suddenly, Qinghe started running and quickly disappeared into the hall. Bai Nuo shook her head, sat back down behind the counter, picked up a pearl and a tray, and got back to work.
Just as she finished one, Qinghe returned. Not only were her hands and feet clean, but her hair was also styled again. Bai Nuo looked up when she heard the sound and saw Qinghe standing in front of her, staring straight at her.
Bai Nuo was genuinely afraid of being stared at like that. After clearing her throat and putting the pearls away, she stepped out from behind the counter, saying as she walked, "Let's go!"
After locking the door, Bai Nuo led Qinghe into the inn and ordered eight-treasure chicken, steamed carp, braised pork ribs, stir-fried cabbage, and a soup. Thinking that Qinghe hadn't eaten all day, Bai Nuo also ordered two bowls of white rice for Qinghe.
After the food was served, Qinghe still didn't dare to eat, drooling as she looked at the food in front of her. Bai Nuo said calmly, "Eat! I ordered it all for you, so don't be afraid."
