"General, are you alright?" The scarred man quickly helped Yu Wei up and sat him down to the side. Then he pointed to the corpse on the ground and said, "Old Fourth and I will go deal with it first, and we'll catch that kid on the way. We'll be back soon."

"You've worked hard." Yu Wei shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Just stay nearby, don't go too far."

The scarred man nodded and, together with the fourth brother, carried the body away.

After resting for a while, Yu Wei gathered everyone together to assign tasks.

"Those who are strong, healthy, can run, jump, and carry heavy objects will be responsible for collecting food, water, and medicine tonight. The rest of you will stay and take care of the wounded." Yu Wei pointed to five strong-looking men. "You guys come with me to find guns and ammunition."

"That's not fair! Why can only a few of them go?" A man jumped up, rolled up his sleeves to show off his muscles, and said with dissatisfaction, "I'm so strong, I'm definitely going to carry the weapons."

“Right now, survival supplies are the most important thing.” Yu Wei smiled and patted his arm, making the bulging muscles disappear instantly, and the crowd burst into laughter. “Weapons and supplies are important, but most people haven’t received professional training and don’t even know how to use a gun. It’s too dangerous for them to go.”

"But they don't know either..."

"Obey orders!" Yu Wei's smile vanished, he stopped taking notes, and slowly glanced around: "Arguing about such pointless things will do us no good."

The crowd quieted down, and the man who had jumped out earlier scratched his head sheepishly.

"Of course, your desire to pursue your ideals is commendable. I believe that anyone with a sense of patriotism will love firearms." Yu Wei withdrew his gaze, closed his notebook, and put his hands behind his back. "The missions are assigned randomly, but the training is purposeful and planned, so everyone who meets the requirements has the opportunity to pick up a weapon."

"That's all for today. Everyone, hurry up and eat something so we can get ready for the mission."

Victory is certain!

Someone in the crowd shouted, and the silent air instantly became lively. After raising their arms and shouting "Victory is certain!" three times, everyone dispersed and lined up in an orderly fashion to receive their food.

"It's alright. How's the situation outside?" Meng Duo distributed the food without looking up, chatting casually with Yu Wei as he did so.

“It’s terrible.” Yu Wei sighed. “The police are offering absolutely no resistance. Qinghe’s last line of defense is the city gate.”

The Allied forces installed a new defensive system called "Gates" in every major city in the Second Sector. This system could slow down the advance of ground troops, but it was ineffective against air strikes.

"How long can it last?"

"At most until tomorrow."

"Does this mean we can never leave the air-raid shelter again after today?"

"Yes, the first thing the rebels did after capturing the city was to loot and plunder, and there were quite a few orcs in their ranks. You can guess what would happen if they found us."

"Water and fire are incompatible; one will either die or be injured, or be crippled."

Montau sighed, lowered his eyes, and said nothing more.

"I can't get in touch with them. The nearest communication base station has been destroyed. I need to think of another way."

"Their bombing didn't look random."

"Qinghe City has a total of sixty streets. The four streets in the East District, namely Daosheng, Kaifu, Qingyuan, and Maoyuan, all have communication base stations. According to them, these are the streets that were bombed this morning."

Military communication networks consist of an additional special network layer on top of the ordinary network, which can only be connected through specific equipment. However, the networks used by high-ranking officers are different, with an additional special network layer on top of the first two layers, used to prevent attacks and protect data.
