The more Yunyang thought about it, the more frightened she became. Her fingertips trembled as she lifted her skirt, her gaze falling on the hideous scar on her thigh.
She couldn't help but reach out and gently stroke it, as if the wound was still throbbing slightly.
Lost in thought, cold sweat soaked her back.
She scrambled to her knees before Jing Min, trembling, her voice weak and trembling:
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jing... I was wrong."
Her head was bowed, her shoulders trembled slightly, and tears fell one by one onto the floor.
"I won't do it again. I swear I'll never lie to you again."
Please forgive me this once... just this once.
Jing Min stood still, looking down at her with a cold and mocking gaze.
He turned slightly to the side.
She even took a half step back as she crawled closer on her knees.
His tone was eerily calm:
Just once?
Yun Yang's body stiffened abruptly, and she looked up at him.
His eyes darted around in a panic, like a headless fly.
But he couldn't utter a single word.
Jing Min looked at her reaction, sneered, and shook his head self-deprecatingly:
"It's also my fault for tolerating untrustworthy people time and time again."
"Indeed, there is no need to give them another chance."
These words struck Yunyang like a thunderbolt.
Her face turned deathly pale, and tears streamed down her face like broken pearls.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but was choked by fear and could only shake her head helplessly.
Jing Min scoffed, his eyes as cold as if covered in frost:
"It's okay if you don't say."
"Anyway, I'm basically sure about it now."
Yun Yang suddenly raised her head, staring blankly at him, her eyes filled with confusion and fear.
Jing Min leaned down, getting closer to her.
His voice was low and cold, like a sharp knife piercing her heart.
"Back then, you weren't the one who saved me, were you?"
The tone is that of a declarative sentence!
Yun Yang's pupils dilated instantly, and the expression on her face changed from shock to fear.
She opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
Those terrified eyes were fixed on Jing Min, as if the whole world had collapsed in an instant.
Jing Min coldly observed her panicked and bewildered appearance.
A mocking smile tugged at the corner of his lips, his voice carrying a chilling undertone:
"That's good, Yunyang. One should be content with what one has."
"You took someone else's identity and received compensation that wasn't originally yours."
"But once a person becomes greedy, he will only suffer the consequences."
Yun Yang's body was as stiff as a stone, and her throat was blocked, unable to utter a sound.
All I could do was keep shaking my head.
She lowered her head, tears falling silently onto the floor, her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging deep into her palms.
Jing Min slowly straightened up, looking down at her with a chillingly authoritative tone:
"Who told you to do this? The Kim family?"
Upon hearing the words "Jin family," a hint of doubt flashed in Yun Yang's eyes.
Her body trembled slightly instinctively, but she quickly returned to a state of bowed head and silence.
Jing Min frowned slightly, his gaze complex, as he observed the subtle changes in her expression.
Not the Jin family?
That doesn't make sense...
Jing Min stared intently at Yun Yang, who was kneeling before him, his eyes filled with a mixture of contemplation and confusion.
A moment later,
He collected his thoughts.
This matter isn't urgent; we need to deal with the immediate issues first.
His voice regained its composure, carrying an undeniable air of authority:
"Let's leave aside the people behind you for now."
"But now, you must cooperate with me."
"Afterwards, I will consider letting you go."
Upon hearing the words "let them go," a glimmer of hope suddenly flashed in Yun Yang's eyes.
She crawled forward, raising her head, her face streaked with tears, and said in a low voice:
“Mr. Jing… since you are willing to let me go, I will definitely stay away from you completely from now on and never bother you and Miss Chu again.”
"I can be honest with her and tell her everything..."
Before he could finish speaking, Jing Min suddenly chuckled softly.
That smile, however, was chillingly cold.
"Confess? I don't need your interference!"
He looked down at her as if she were the biggest joke in the world.
"I said I would let you go, but I didn't say how I would let you go."
He straightened his cuffs, seemingly unconcerned by her reaction, his tone low yet suggestive.
"You'll never know the pain until you're hit on the head."
"And they'll never learn their lesson!"
After straightening his sleeves, his gaze returned to Yun Yang, his eyes cold as if he weren't looking at a living creature.
"Did you take my warnings and hints seriously?"
Yun Yang's face grew even paler, and cold sweat trickled down her forehead.
She tried to speak, but found that she couldn't make a sound at all, and could only look at him helplessly.
Jingmin didn't look at her again.
He stepped around Yunyang and headed straight for the door.
The door was slammed shut.
A loud "bang" resounded, making Yunyang's eardrums ache.
She knelt on the ground in a daze, then collapsed as if all her strength had been drained.
The coldness of the floor seeped into her bones through her skin, sending a chill down her spine from the soles of her feet.
She stared wide-eyed at the closed door, Jing Min's words echoing repeatedly in her mind.
A wave of fear washed over me.
Her lips trembled as she murmured to herself:
"What does that mean...? Does he mean... he won't let me off easily?"

As night deepened, moonlight streamed through the thin curtains into the room, casting a faint glow on the bedside.
