Crown Prince Zhao Huan:
Dad, you're not righteous! The Jin army is here, and you want to run. Take me with you! I don't want to be emperor.
Emperor Huizong Zhao Ji:
Raisin...
There was no wind or rain, no water or waves in the yard, and it could even be said to be a bright spring day; there were no bluestone floors or screen walls at the door, but there were large stretches of soft grass; birds were circling, rabbits were running, and children were playing and fighting.
Johnny was intoxicated by the sunshine and the smell of green grass. He was sure that even the green grass at the best golf courses in Beijing was not as soft and green as this one.
On one side is the bleak autumn with wind and rain, and on the other side is the vibrant spring. Inside and outside the door, they are two completely different worlds.
Johnny was stunned. His mind was wandering again. He had a grassland back home, so falling in love with a wild horse wasn't too much of a stretch. Could it be the Green Grassland? Would it have Big Bad Wolf and Pleasant Goat?
"Monster, stop looking around!"
The person who opened the door was a little girl about eight or nine years old. Her pretty face was full of anger. She had her left hand on her waist and pointed at Johnny with her right hand and scolded him.
A round face, big eyes, a flame mole between the eyebrows, two red hairbands wrapped around them, a white shirt and a pink skirt, a soft and sweet voice coupled with a sweet and lovely appearance, she looks like a cute and fierce little loli.
"I am an innocent person. I encountered some unknown changes and ended up here, starving and cold. I wanted to stay for a night and find some food. Why did the little girl say that I was a monster?" Johnny asked with a smile, trying his best to look kind and amiable, but in his heart he was secretly wondering how he could get some information from the little girl. He felt too insecure knowing nothing.
"Don't lie to me. The teacher told us that humans are skinny, black and thin. Only man-eating monsters are white and fat. You are wearing colorful clothes. How can you be a human being?" The little girl looked proud and felt that she was shining with wisdom.
What does that mean? Johnny was a little confused. Humans are in such a miserable state now, dark and thin, and even become food for monsters.
Where did this monster come from? Wasn't this the Song Dynasty, a time of economic prosperity, where wealth was shared among the people? I knew the old professor wasn't reliable. No matter how bizarre it was, it was impossible to control the span of a time-travel channel by the decibel level.
"This may be because I am the child of a landlord. Landlord, a rich man, you know?" Johnny praised his sudden inspiration. I, Johnny, can actually pretend to be a rich man.
"Nuanshu, please let him in. This gentleman is not a monster." The little girl named Nuanshu had a look of distrust on her face. She snorted but still opened the door and made way as she was told.
"A few early orioles vie for the warmth of the trees, and new swallows peck at the spring mud. What a wonderful name!" Johnny praised, quietly showing off his cultural heritage. It's a comfort to show off in front of others.
Pretending not to notice the surprise on the little girl's face, Johnny stepped over the steps, stepped onto the grass, and looked forward. His previous glimpse outside the door had been but the tip of the iceberg. Beyond the green lawn, there were pavilions and towers, water nearby, mountains in the distance, and farmland and houses at the foot of the mountains—a true paradise.
Beneath the pavilion, a middle-aged man in coarse cloth, holding a scroll in his hands, said with a smile, "Sir, you are a man of great talent. Please come over and have a chat. Early orioles vie for the warmth of the trees, while new swallows peck at the spring mud. It's truly wonderful! I've spent half my life studying, but I still haven't been able to produce such a beautiful poem."
Bai Juyi's poems are naturally excellent. After all, they are included in the Chinese textbooks for the nine-year compulsory education. Johnny happened to read them at the right time, so he pretended to be good at them. Unexpectedly, they were really useful.
Entering the pavilion, Johnny bowed and said in a clear voice, "Sir, I dare not boast of my talent. This poem is not mine. It was written by a Tang Dynasty poet named Bai Juyi, and Johnny had the opportunity to read it. Now, by chance, I am stranded here. I mean no harm, but I am hungry and cold, and I would like to ask for some food and a place to stay for the night."
The middle-aged man also bowed in return and said, "Zhang Xiaofan, you are a scholar, right? Nuanshu has never been out of the house, and the story of the monster is just something he heard from the village storyteller. It's just a trick to fool children, Mr. Johnny, please don't take it seriously. Nuanshu, go get some food for the gentleman."
"Yes, sir." Nuanshu responded, took an umbrella, pushed the door open and went out.
Johnny didn't pay much attention to the little girl in the warm tree. His heart was swirling with emotion. The middle-aged man's name was simply too shocking. Zhang Xiaofan, Gui Li, Ghost King Sect, Hu Qishan. He looked around again. The scene was very similar to the world of Zhu Xian. Could it be that time travel was also fictional?
"Excuse me, sir, is this Fox Mountain?" Johnny asked tentatively.
"Indeed! Sir, you are quite insightful. If I am correct, the arrival of the space-time passage and the appearance of the ruins a few days ago should have something to do with you."
"I did enter the time and space channel by mistake, but I don't know much about the ruins. I wonder if you can help me solve this puzzle." The biggest secret was actually discovered by someone. Johnny made up his mind and just told it. There was no point in confronting him. Zhang Xiaofan was really a good person.
"No hurry, wait until you have something to eat, and then I'll show you around Huqi Mountain and clear up your confusion."
North of Gushan Temple and west of Jiating, the water surface is just beginning to level off and the clouds are low.
Early orioles are competing for the warm trees, and new swallows are pecking at the spring mud.
The flowers are so beautiful that they are dazzling, and only the shallow grass can hide the horse's hooves.
I love walking along the white sand embankment in the shade of green willows on the east side of the lake.
Johnny didn't want to be a cultural carrier, but he couldn't resist Zhang Xiaofan's repeated requests and recited the whole poem.
"The word 'chaotic' and the word 'shallow' vividly depict the word 'early'. The wording is exquisite. It is really a rare good poem!" Zhang Xiaofan, who is obsessed with poetry, carefully appreciates Bai Juyi's "Spring Tour on Qiantang Lake".
"Le Tian's poems are written in plain and simple language, fresh and natural, with profound emotions that touch the heart and spleen. They are given shape by objects and fill everything." After reciting the poems, Johnny didn't mind saying a few more words to get closer to him, so he took out some of the appreciations in his memory and shared them with Zhang Xiaofan.
