Chapter 47 Spring Outing

The relationship between Guan Xiang and Dan Si had always been lukewarm; neither of them paid any attention to the other. This situation continued until two days before the spring outing without any sign of improvement.

"Xiangxiang, have you prepared your things for the spring outing?" Gu Zhaodi asked Guan Xiang, who was propping her face up in a daze, as she tidied up her books.

During this time, Guan Xiang often sat alone in her seat, lost in thought, while Dan Si disappeared as soon as get out of class ended.

The girl sighed deeply and patted Guan Xiang's shoulder, "Xiangxiang?"

"Huh?" Guan Xiang snapped out of her daze and looked at the girl with a blank expression. "What did you just say?"

"Have you prepared your things for the spring outing?"

"Not yet, let's go out and buy it together tomorrow," Guan Xiang replied absentmindedly.

The girl paused in her work of tidying up the books, hesitated for a moment, and said, "This time we're in a group with Dan Si and his group, so we'll be going to buy supplies with them tomorrow."

The spring outing destination for Class 1 of Grade 11 is Fengshan Mountain. The initial plan is to camp overnight at the campsite on the mountaintop, so we need to bring daily necessities, food, and camping supplies.

Upon hearing Dan Si's name, Guan Xiang focused her attention slightly. "Why is he in our group too?"

Seeing that Guan Xiang seemed completely unaware, the girl felt deeply helpless. "There are five people in a group in the class. This morning, only a few of us didn't form a team, so we were naturally assigned to the same group."

I don't know why no one asked the two of them to team up, nor did they ask Dan Si and the others to team up.

"Hehe, Brother Dan is just trying to ease the tension with Sister Guan." Yao Xin said, clasping her hands together with a pitiful look in her eyes. "Don't let Brother Dan find out that you know about this, or he'll definitely kill me."

Yesterday, because of the group assignments, Dan Ge went to warn those who wanted to team up with Guan Xiang one by one. Recalling the scene of one person facing a group of people in a dimly lit alley, Yao Xin couldn't help but shudder.

If this gets out, Dan Ge will lose face completely, and the reputation of the school bully will be damaged.

"I understand." The girl knew that Dan Si had thought about apologizing to Guan Xiang during this time, but in the end, he couldn't bring himself to apologize first, after all, he still had Nie Bowen to blame.

Upon arriving at the school gate, Guan Xiang and Gu Zhaodi got into Guan Xiang's family car, while the other three got into Dan Si's family car.

Dan Si stood at the school gate with a somber expression, staring intently at the car as if trying to bore a hole into it, his eyes fixed on it for a long time.

Yao Xin and Fang Yuan looked at each other, and could only follow Dan Si into the car.

Once inside the mall, Guan Xiang suggested that they buy the supplies separately, as this would be more efficient.

Finally, Gu Zhaodi made the decision: "Xiangxiang and I will go buy food, and you guys will go buy camping gear."

After saying that, he handed the list to Yao Xin.

On the way to buy food, the girl took Guan Xiang's hand and asked, "Are you still angry with Dan Si?"

Guan Xiang pursed her lips. "Actually, no, it's just that he didn't apologize to me, and I felt too embarrassed to talk to him."

After everyone had finished buying their things and gathered at the mall entrance, Guan Xiang and Dan Si still didn't exchange any words.

The next morning, the whole class took a bus to the foot of the mountain.

In spring, the chill of the mountains disappears, tender buds quietly sprout on the branches, and the lush forests purify the surrounding air. Now you can clearly smell the fragrance of the leaves in the forest, mixed with the scent of unknown flowers.

The students around them were all chattering away, talking about the local culture and scenery.

"Students, gather around!" Class teacher Mr. Lin called out loudly, holding a megaphone.

Once everyone's excitement had subsided a bit, Lao Lin said, "Next, we'll go up the mountain together in small groups. There are markers along the way, so just follow them."

"Remember to go to the top of the mountain as a whole group. The teacher in charge will follow behind you. If anything happens, be sure to find the teacher in charge immediately," Lao Lin reminded him again, still worried.

The girl looked at the pile of snacks on the ground. This was the lightest thing Dan Si and the others had left behind; the heavier things had all been carried on the backs of the boys.

"Xiangxiang, let's each take one bag." The girl picked up the slightly heavier bag.

Guan Xiang hoisted the remaining bag onto her shoulder and said with great confidence, "Let's go."

The two followed behind Dan Si and the others, slowly climbing up the mountain. "Xiangxiang, you're full of energy today!"

"When will this ever end?" Guan Xiang looked utterly hopeless as she slowly climbed up the mountain.

The girl kept gasping for breath, too exhausted to answer Guan Xiang.

"I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore." Guan Xiang waved her hand and plopped down on a large rock next to her.

The girl sat down as well, and the two girls had completely abandoned any semblance of decorum.

When she lived in Gujia Village, she often went to work in the fields with her father. She was really strong back then.

There are hardly any opportunities to exercise now; even climbing a mountain leaves me breathless.
