Upon hearing this, Mo Cheng suddenly opened his eyes: "You left a mark?"
Seeing Mo Cheng's nervous expression, the two men sat up straight and nodded. Mo Cheng took a breath and ordered, "Carry them both on your back. We'll move to a new location immediately. Don't leave any traces along the way."
Without a single question, the two guards quickly packed their things. Mo Cheng slung his backpack over his shoulder, forced himself to stand up despite his aching legs, and the group, bent over, hurried toward the pipe exit.
Not long after they emerged from the pipe, they heard footsteps approaching. Judging from the sound of at least two people, Mo Cheng felt a tightness in his chest and could only urge them in a low voice, "Faster."
The two guards were also worried that someone might reveal the markings to the enemy. Since they were carrying their colleague, which would be a burden, they let Mo Cheng go first: "Young Master, we'll hold off the enemy from behind. You can run on your own. As long as you're not caught, we won't lose."
Mo Cheng glanced at the two men, gritted his teeth, and realized they were right. As long as he wasn't caught, his father wouldn't be threatened.
"Mo Cheng... is that you?" Mo Zuo's voice suddenly came, and the group was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed.
"No need to run anymore, the captain is here," the guard said with delight.
Mo Cheng also sat down on the ground. Heaven knows how much pain he was in. He was only able to carry the weight because he was on his last breath.
Mo Zuo emerged from the pipe and saw Mo Cheng. He was delighted, but quickly became serious and said, "Don't sit there. Get up and keep running. We need to get out of here quickly, or this place will be searched soon."
Mo Cheng was inwardly groaning, but he couldn't show it on his face. The team now consisted of seven people, who shared the burden. After running for another half hour, they finally emerged from a sewer opening in a narrow passageway and found another building to hide in.
Mo Zuo sent someone outside to keep watch, while he sat down with Mo Cheng: "It's a good thing you weren't caught. I was really worried about you for a while."
Mo Cheng was sitting and calming his breathing. Hearing Mo Zuo's words, he smiled and said, "Thanks to everyone protecting me, otherwise it would have been hard to say."
Mo Zuo waited for him to calm down before saying, "More than ten of us have been captured by them. This group in the city is very powerful. Fu Hua sold our information, and now they are making a big move to arrest us. It won't be easy to escape."
Mo Cheng's heart sank, and his expression turned somewhat gloomy. Seeing this, Mo Zuo smiled and patted him on the shoulder: "Don't be discouraged. Although it's not easy to escape, as long as this city isn't razed to the ground, they won't be able to catch us so easily. As long as we don't get caught, things will take a turn for the better."
