She might have made mistakes, but not enough to warrant her complete destruction. She could have redeemed herself by deserting her post, could have continued to dedicate her life to the Federation, bearing the weight of fallen heroes, but no one gave her that chance. Shen Wangshu took a deep breath and hugged Aifei's neck.

Effie remained silent as well.

She looked at her younger sister in her arms with mixed feelings.

She touched her soft, golden hair, nodded calmly, thanked the middle-aged teacher, and then walked up to Kerry.

The tall, assertive woman lowered her head slightly, looked at the black-haired boy, and after a long while, revealed an appreciative smile.

“You are very good too.” Of course, she was impressed by the hero who dared to stay and fight to the death. Kerry’s initiative to stay further demonstrated his perfect character. Therefore, Effie looked at Kerry not as if she were looking at an outsider, but as if she were looking at her future brother-in-law who could take care of her sister.

Holding Shen Wangshu in her arms, she simply smiled and said to Kerry, "You have the most beautiful heart, just like Alice. I can rest assured now." Rest assured about what? Kerry's handsome face suddenly turned somewhat bitter, and his eyes beneath his black hair kept glancing at Alice, who was secretly looking over from Aifei's arms.

Those blue eyes narrowed as they looked at him, clearly signaling him to answer carefully.

Having already been rejected for his engagement and lost another admirer, Kerry had no choice but to say with difficulty, "General, please listen to me..."

Effie looked like she was all ears.

"Between Alice and me, there is only the friendship of companions. Of course, we are not familiar with each other yet..." Kerry said curtly.

"And what about you?" Effie asked calmly, pretending not to have heard the last sentence.

“Me?” Kerry said honestly, “I…”

He heard a soft cough and immediately felt as if he had found his pillar of support. He quickly walked to the side of a tall, dark-haired man and whispered, "I have no feelings for Alice."

For some reason, he felt that the atmosphere around him was a little more pleasant.

"You don't like her?" Effie suddenly frowned, her gaze falling on the handsome, dark-haired man next to Kerry.

This man bore a resemblance to Kerry, but his facial features were more hardened and mature, as if all his emotions had been transformed into a deep, somber intensity, which was reflected in his dark eyes. He was far stronger than Kerry, and his imposing aura was overwhelming. The handsome young man standing next to him was immediately rendered invisible by that powerful presence.

Wherever he stood, all the soldiers vanished, and only his presence remained clear.

This is a man who is hard to ignore, even though Effie had been ignoring him just now.

He was wearing the same general's uniform as Effie, with equally dazzling stars on his shoulders.

“Admiral Karls.” Effie remembered how this guy had abruptly hugged her delicate little sister tightly, and immediately snorted coldly, “I didn’t expect to see you here.”

She said coldly, feeling the little girl in her arms wriggle again. A moment later, a small head emerged, and a pair of snow-white hands clung to her arm, peeking at the man named Karl. She couldn't help but hum softly and asked gently, "Are you scared of strangers? I'll take you home in a bit." She hesitated for a moment before asking, "Alice, do you like Kerry?"

If Alice likes Kerry, she will fulfill her sister's love even if the boy doesn't like her.

Perhaps it's unfair to Kerry, but in Effie's heart, there is no right or wrong, only the happiness or sadness of having a younger sister.

She felt she could give her life for her little sister.

“I like him.” Shen Wangshu pointed a small finger straight in Kerry’s direction.

Clifton looked at the girl with a surprised expression, who kept changing her mind.

They say a woman's heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea, and now he truly understands that saying.

She was just saying so confidently that she didn't like him!

"You like Kerry?" Effie's voice carried a hint of amusement.

Several adjutants walked quickly behind her, all looking in the direction of the black-haired boy.

It's clear that a bride-kicking mission is about to begin.

“It’s him.” Shen Wangshu’s hair shook as he focused intently on the direction of Kerry and said earnestly, “It’s him.”

Effie couldn't help but be a little surprised this time. She looked carefully in Kerry's direction and saw Shen Wangshu looking up at her with a sincere expression. She couldn't help but ask, "Isn't that Kerry?"

Who else could it be but Kerry? Shen Wangshu was clearly pointing at him. She had obviously forgotten that Kerry was standing with her brother.
