These documents, all bearing her seal, detail her dealings with forces outside the Federation. Some of the exchanges of favors were shocking; if Effie hadn't seen them with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed that her mark was truly on them. The seals of all high-ranking military officials were only granted to their most trusted adjutants.

Effie looked somewhat bewildered.

"Why?" The adjutant was the person they trusted most; she had never mistreated him and treated him like family.

“Compared to being just an adjutant by your side, it’s definitely more promising to marry a woman from a prestigious family in the future,” Karls said coldly.

Both adjutants confessed. General Andy said that as long as they could get such documents, he would arrange for them to marry women from prestigious families after Effie lost power, and then they would rise to great heights.

Not everyone is so steadfast, but Karls was quite surprised that three of Effie's adjutants remained unwavering.

The three adjutants initially thought they were the only ones being poached and didn't take it seriously. After all, every high-ranking military officer's adjutants were constantly being poached, and telling their superiors every time would only arouse suspicion. However, when Karls questioned them one by one, they realized something was wrong and told him everything.

The betrayal of the adjutant was no less than being stabbed in the back.

Effie lowered her eyes in disappointment.

"Thank you," she said sincerely.

Karls gave a cold laugh.

If Shen Wangshu hadn't asked him to investigate, he wouldn't have thought of these things either.

He was about to tell the woman in front of him that it was all because her sister cared about her, when he felt his arm being squeezed hard. Then, the blonde girl looked at him with her round eyes. Seeing her expression, Karls felt a surge of warmth in his heart, and forgetting all about Effie, he continued, "These are all the problematic documents. No more documents harmful to you will circulate. However, you need to be more careful in the future." Karls said this without a care in the world.

His seal also appeared on his adjutant's body.

"I understand." Aifei looked up, but stared blankly at Shen Wangshu.

It seemed that there was something in those eyes that made Shen Wangshu feel terrified, and Shen Wangshu timidly buried her blonde head under her lover's arm.

Effie fell even more silent.

A small, trembling body shivered in the man's strong arms. She seemed to think that if she hid her head, she wouldn't be seen.

What a lovely little girl.

Thinking of this, she suddenly clutched her chest tightly, feeling as if she couldn't breathe. The sharp, agonizing pain seemed to be cutting into her heart, making her tremble uncontrollably. But she bit her lip hard to keep from making a sound, and her pale hand gripped the photograph in front of her tightly.

When Karls raised an eyebrow, she shook her head vigorously, letting Karls cover the eyes of the bewildered girl and tuck her into his arms. She tried to remain calm and said, "I want to be alone for a while, Alice. Why don't you and Karls go out first?"

Her voice was gentle, and Shen Wangshu didn't detect anything amiss. She snuggled closer to the man, indicating that she understood.

Karls also didn't want Shen Wangshu to see Aifei in such a vulnerable state.

That would make it even harder for her beloved little girl to part with her older sister.

He casually closed the door and saw a black-haired girl timidly walking over from downstairs. After seeing him, she greeted him softly.

Karls acted as if he hadn't seen the girl, carrying Shen Wangshu and walking past her without looking at her, saying in a low voice, "I need to stay the night."

The blonde head trembled slightly, and she responded softly. She timidly peeked out from his arms, but her gaze fell on the tightly closed study door.

At that time... Effie was in great pain... but she could only pretend that she knew nothing.

Her only wish was that Effie's suffering had nothing to do with Alice.

Shen Wangshu's eyes were somewhat confused. She didn't know if Aifei's suppressed pain was due to the adjutant's betrayal or because she knew Aifei wasn't the Alice she used to be. A sense of panic welled up inside her, but when she saw Jasmine, she couldn't help but feel a surge of immense hatred.

If it weren't for her betrayal and accusations, Effie wouldn't have been unable to defend herself against those documents that betrayed the Federation, nor would she have been attacked and attacked by the public for trying to protect Alice, making everyone disbelieve that she knew nothing about those documents. Shen Wangshu hugged Kars's neck, watching the black-haired girl walk away nervously, and nodded slightly.

Carls has done a great job today, so it has been decided to reward him.

Although she was distracted by Effie, she still led Carl to the guest room of the house.

The Fields house was very large, with many guest rooms. Shen Wangshu had chosen a very spacious room for her. It had everything she needed, and after peeking around and finding it satisfactory, she was about to leave when the man suddenly tossed her onto the soft bed. The delicate young girl sank into the soft bed, looking extremely pitiful. Carls looked at her for a while, then slowly began to unbutton his clothes.
