Chapter 43

However, just as Zhou Chen was able to place a camera next door, she didn't know how he succeeded. What she did know was that there were no surveillance cameras in the private room where President Song was staying.

No matter how they play, they won't leave any evidence, which is why people like Mr. Song like this club the most.

It was utter darkness. The only thing Shen Wangshu was able to do to emerge unscathed from there and return to the brightest part of the clubhouse was...

President Song prefers men.

It was because of Zhou Chen's presence that President Song couldn't care less about her and didn't want her antics to ruin his good mood, so he gave her a way out. Shen Wangshu felt a surge of relief before she had time to tidy her clothes.

Today, following Zhou Chen's advice, she wore a bright red dress that exposed her back and chest, revealing her snow-white back and full breasts, exuding a captivating and alluring charm. The dress was thin, and the evening breeze blowing in from outside made Shen Wangshu shiver. After trying not to look disheveled, she hesitated for a moment, wanting to leave.

As she walked, she opened her handbag and took out her phone.

Sure enough, her phone was switched off at some point, presumably because Zhou Chen was worried that she was in contact with the outside world.

She scratched the phone with her long, bright red fingernails, watched as the screen lit up, and then the phone started ringing with a crazy face.

Shen Wangshu saw the name flashing on the screen, smiled gently, and answered the phone.

"Lu Rong! Where the hell have you been?!" Before she could speak, a shrill soprano voice came from the other end of the line. The voice soared to an extremely high pitch on the phone, followed by a barrage of insults and curses. The sharp scolding was so intense it was like being slapped in the face, yet it brought a smile to Shen Wangshu's face.

Perhaps because she hadn't spoken for a long time, the soprano on the other end suddenly paused, then asked urgently, "Where are you? Is something wrong? Xiao Rong, listen to me, no matter what happened... where are you!?"

Towards the end, she started to lose her temper again.

“I’m at the Cloud Club,” Shen Wangshu said gently.

"Where are you going? What are you doing? Wait... is it for Zhou Chen?!" the other person asked sharply.

"Come and pick me up," Shen Wangshu said softly.

Her voice was tinged with weariness, and the person on the other end became cautious again, "You, you didn't..."

"Nothing happened, I'm just tired." Shen Wangshu heard a soft sigh from the other side, her eyes stinging. She looked up, trying to hold back tears, whether from Lü Rong or herself, and smiled through her tears.

This is Lü Rong's best friend, a friend who would do anything for her. The two of them grew up in an orphanage. One followed her lover into the seemingly glamorous entertainment industry, while the other stayed by her side as her manager to protect her only friend.

She knew nothing when she entered the industry, stumbling and growing along the way, transforming from a confused girl into a fiery agent who dared to challenge producers. Lü Rong wasn't a big star and lacked the confidence to challenge them, but the courage this girl had to do so stemmed from simply preventing her from drinking with investors.

She protected her all the way, through thick and thin, and even when she had a better future, she never abandoned Lü Rong.

After Lü Rong committed suicide, she quietly handled his funeral arrangements. Then, after one of Zhou Chen's announcements, she confronted him and stabbed him.

A knife cut into the face.

She didn't want his life, she just wanted his face; she cried and laughed loudly as the police took her away.

She gave everything for Lü Rong, but did not get a good ending. When Shen Wangshu thought of this, she felt a sharp pain in her heart and felt so uncomfortable that she could not breathe.

Knowing her best friend was on her way to the Cloud Club, she breathed a sigh of relief. Not everyone there was a womanizer like President Song, and the first half of the night wasn't dangerous. She silently walked to a corner near the club's entrance, sat on a slightly cool step, clutching the bottle of liquor that had somehow saved her life, and stared blankly in the direction of the club. This club was located in the suburbs, far from the city's glitz and glamour, so she didn't dare go outside before her friend arrived.

It was a deserted open space, perhaps even more dangerous than this club.

The night wind was a little chilly, but Shen Wangshu didn't mind.

Her gaze was intensely fixed on the clubhouse entrance, unaware that her disheveled state had become a spectacle in the eyes of others.

Lü Rong was a stunningly beautiful woman with a seductive charm. She had a curvaceous figure and wore a rather thin red dress, which made her appear even more voluptuous and alluring.

Her long, wavy hair cascaded casually over her shoulders. Even with a vacant gaze, she remained alluring. Her fiery red lips shimmered brilliantly in the night's light and shadow. Just sitting there, she captivated everyone's attention. It was an exceptionally beautiful face, but because it was so strikingly alluring, she involuntarily exuded a foxy charm in front of the camera.

Lü Rong has played many villainous female roles, and she can bring them to life almost without acting. However, it is very difficult for her to take the next step.

She doesn't have the kind of looks that most viewers would accept; what's popular now is the pure and lovely type.

That would certainly be an excellent type, pleasing to the eye and delightful to the heart, but Lü Rong could not become that kind of person.

Even though she was naturally very gentle, the first impression everyone had of her was that she was a vixen.
