A certain woman, for some inexplicable reason, became bound to an arrogant and deceptive system. She transmigrates into the bodies of cannon fodder characters in various worlds, fulfilling their wi...
"What should I do, Xiaoqi? So many mummies..."
"Find a way yourself!"
Xiang Wan was seething with anger. Relying on the system at such a crucial moment was definitely the worst choice. Luckily, she was only asking; if she had really relied on the system, she would have been driven mad with frustration, if not furious.
The Pharaoh slowly walked towards the evening, and the other mummies were lined up neatly on both sides, kneeling on one knee, as if welcoming a true king. If you ignored their empty eyes and thin arms and legs, they really did resemble an army.
Xiang Wan slowly retreated, trying to find a favorable position to escape.
"My beloved consort, I have said that we will return."
Xiang Wan suddenly understood what the Pharaoh was saying. Even though she didn't speak Egyptian and was hearing gibberish, she could still understand its meaning, which was slightly unsettling.
"You, you stay away, I'm not your beloved concubine."
"Still so mischievous. You sacrificed yourself for me. I went to great lengths and sacrificed countless lives to finally bring you back to life. Your words disappoint me greatly!"
The Pharaoh's hands hung at his sides, and Xiang Wan felt a strange sense of familiarity with them; this was a sign that he was about to become angry.
"Since that's the case, then there's no need for you to stay any longer. Merge into my spirit, and from this day forward, we shall be one!"
Suddenly, the Pharaoh raised his scepter and pointed it directly at Wan's forehead.
Holy crap, he started collecting money without warning. Is he still the person he loves most?
Xiang Wan suddenly found herself unable to move, even struggling to twitch her eyes. So this was what the final boss was like. She watched helplessly as the gem on the staff shone brightly, illuminating her entire body. Her soul felt as if it were being pulled out of her body, constantly being stretched from the top of her head, causing her immense pain.
"It's time to end this."
A melodious female voice echoed around her, and Xiang Wan felt as if her body had suddenly been freed from its restraints and returned to the earth. The familiar gravity pulled her back to her body, making her feel incredibly at ease.
Looking up again, I saw that the hollow sphere had somehow emerged from the backpack and was flying directly above the staff, constantly drawing life force from the staff, the Pharaoh, and the surrounding mummies.
"Fenrna, is that you?" The Pharaoh's posture, holding his staff, remained unchanged as he stared straight at the sphere, as if confirming something.
"Arafat, back then you acted recklessly, slaughtering tens of thousands of people for your own selfish gain, just to prolong your own life. You kept saying I was the person you loved most, but little did you know, I was merely a catalyst for your resurrection. In your heart, there was only yourself! For so many years, imprisoned in your own shell, unable to see the light of day, unable to regain your freedom, do you regret it?"
"So it was you! I have treated you well, and I would rather betray the world than betray you. Why did you choose to betray me?"
"Ha, betrayal? From the very beginning, I approached you so that you would receive the punishment you deserved. How could this be considered betrayal?"
The Pharaoh was silent for a moment, then burst into laughter: "Foolish woman!"
The rustling sounds around them grew increasingly intense. The secret room was now crawling with all sorts of snakes, insects, and rodents, swarming around them and closing in relentlessly. Xiang Wan dragged Qian Li back, hoping the hollowed-out sphere would work its magic and not fail her at the crucial moment.
“Resentment has coalesced, and evil spirits have gathered. Arafat, you won’t let them go even in death. Very well, then I won’t have any more scruples. Since you want to rule the world, then go to hell. It’s a good place for you.”
The openwork sphere shone brightly, and ethereal chants echoed in the secret chamber. Piercing screams and agonizing groans emanated from the shadowy creatures. The Pharaoh's form was faltering; the surrounding mummies, like deflated balloons, returned to their withered state and collapsed to the ground.
The light from the hollow sphere acted like a purifier; wherever it passed, the darkness emanating from living beings gradually transformed into transparent shapes, eventually faintly taking human forms, densely packed and floating in the air.
"Arafat, good luck to you!"
The hollowed-out sphere dimmed and gradually fell to the ground. The souls swarmed forward, all entering the Pharaoh's body, soon bursting his physical form. His soul was devoured by countless souls and ultimately vanished into nothingness.
"Cough, cough, Wan'er."
Qian Li slowly woke up, much to Xiang Wan's surprise. She helped her sit up and silently fed her some water.
“Child, you have suffered.” Qian Li rested for a while, took Xiang Wan’s hand and said, “I had a long dream. In the dream, a fairy told me that immortality was just a bait set by Arafat to take away souls so that he could consume them and maintain his immortality.”
She asked me to thank you for helping her fulfill her last wish! You… never mind.
As Qian Li spoke, her throat tightened, her expression sorrowful. She looked at Xiang Wan several times, hesitant to speak, and finally swallowed the rest of her words.
Xiang Wan understood, but remained silent, sitting quietly beside her and waiting for her to recover.
“Child, live a good life after you get out. I have a lot of money in your account, enough for you to live on in the future. Don’t go back to the nanny, she was just being used. No matter what, I should repay the kindness of raising you safely.”
Xiang Wan wanted to say something, but Qian Li shook her head. "Anyway, thank you!"
If she's so distant, and Xiang Wan still can't understand what's going on, then all the time she's spent traversing so many worlds would have been for nothing.
"Come out with me and live a good life. This is also her wish."
