Audra watched Arthur lose his composure, then watched him recover from his shock, his eyes filled with disbelief, which eventually turned into doubt and disapproval.

Arthur was getting a little frustrated, both because of Audra's wild idea and because he was worried about himself.

If this is true, then higher-ranking vampires, from servants and barons to viscounts and Blood Kings, must also experience thirst periods, albeit longer ones that increase with their rank. What is the basis for their ability to walk and think? When their entire bodies are destroyed, leaving only their hearts, after their bodies recover, is their memory and thought solely powered by the heart?

During their blood-thirsty period, their bodies lack blood, and their hearts don't receive enough energy, causing them to lose their minds, but they won't die immediately. This is similar to how humans don't die from oxygen deprivation in the brain. Could this be interpreted as the energy concentrated in the heart requiring some kind of brain-like mechanism to function properly for the vampire to return to normal?

If that's the case, then their hearts must also contain something similar to human mental power, capable of retaining memories and thinking abilities, just like the human brain.

This crazy and audacious idea suddenly came to Xiang Wan after she realized that vampire hunters wouldn't die unless they stabbed a vampire in the heart.

Vampires are fundamentally different from humans, and cannot be understood from a human perspective. Besides, in this world, it seems that no one else possesses such immense mental power as Xiang Wan, and can even transform it into a weapon of attack.
