Yang Suiyi is a total homebody whose favorite pastime is writing novels on various websites. However, she inevitably abandons every single one, earning curses from countless readers while gleefully...
Qi Muzhi stood up, walked to the French windows, looked at the endless stream of vehicles on the road, and the little pedestrians who were either in a hurry or leisurely, and his indifferent voice slowly rang out.
“I’ve been having the same dream for the past three days. In the dream, I’m in what looks like an underground parking lot, holding a woman lying in a pool of blood, screaming and crying. When I wake up, I feel extremely heartbroken, empty, and have no sense of my surroundings.”
"Have you been like this for the past few days?" The man couldn't understand, his brows furrowed, and even his frown was handsome.
"Yes! As soon as I close my eyes, I remember the scenes from my dreams," the man replied expressionlessly, his hands in his pockets.
"Did you get a good look at that woman's face?"
"No, I only vaguely remember that there was a knife stuck in the woman's heart."
"Have you ever been hypnotized by a hypnotist?" the man asked again, a sense of unease creeping into his heart.
"Hmm! I looked at a few, and the final explanation was that my brainwaves at a certain point in time might have merged with the magnetic field of the scene at that time, resulting in a figment of my imagination." The man's voice was clearly annoyed.
"I'll take you to find someone; perhaps he can answer your questions." After listening to his friend's story, the man remembered a master, a very powerful master.
"Okay! When?" Qi Muzhi took a deep breath and looked at the man.
"I need to make an appointment first," the man said, shrugging with a hint of helplessness.
Qi Muzhi looked at him in surprise. His friend's identity was not ordinary, and he was such a free and easy person who liked to make friends with talented and extraordinary people. He didn't know why his friend was interested in those so-called unsolved mysteries.
The man made a phone call, and after a long time, a lazy voice came from the other end.
"Mr. Chu, what brings you here?"
"You've really been doing poorly for three years, but now you're making enough to live off for three years? Are you sleeping again?" The man's voice was full of laughter.
"Yeah! I closed a big deal a few days ago and got a reward of ten million. It was exhausting."
"Tsk tsk, people in your line of work are truly enviable. Why don't you take me on as your apprentice?" the man joked.
"No, no! You're doing fine now, and judging from your appearance, you're not suited for this path, so you should just give up on this idea," the voice on the other end of the phone said quickly.
"I'm done joking around. I have serious business to discuss with you. Let's meet at our usual spot." The man dropped his joking attitude and became serious.
"Okay! But you can't skimp on the perks if you hire me to do the work!"
"Don't worry! If you really have the ability to solve this, you'll definitely be rewarded. Now, meet me at the usual place." The man hung up the phone after saying that.
"Let's go, I'll take you to see him." After saying that, the man stood up and walked away without hesitation. Qi Muzhi followed behind without suspicion.
A car pulled up at the Yazhuxuan Clubhouse, and two tall, handsome men got out, attracting frequent glances and whispers from passersby.
The two entered the club and registered their information at the front desk.
The man took out a diamond card and handed it to the receptionist.
"Ms. Zhang, please register your information."
"Oh, it's Mr. Chu. A guest has already registered. I'll have someone take you there," the receptionist said with a smile and a gentle voice.
"Thank you, Miss Zhang. How about I treat you to dinner another day?" The man smiled warmly.
"Then there's no need, thank you for your kind offer, Mr. Chu," the woman declined.
"Oh well!"
"Xiao Wen, please take these two gentlemen to room number eight in the 'Heaven' section of Gu Xuan." The receptionist said as she saw a waiter approaching.
"Okay, Sister Zhang." She then turned to the two of them, nodded, and gestured for them to proceed.
"Gentlemen, please follow me." He then stood three feet away from the two men and led them the way.
"How do you feel about here?" The man turned to look at Qi Muzhi and asked with a smile.
"Not bad." Qi Muzhi parted his thin lips slightly, uttering two words that could be considered a compliment.
"Hehe! It's rare to find something that catches your eye. It's truly remarkable that you would say this Elegant Bamboo Pavilion is good! However, in my opinion, to be able to run a club that attracts so many high-society people is definitely more than just good. You'll see in a moment."
The three of them arrived at the door of room number eight in the Heavenly section. The waiter then withdrew, and Qi Muzhi and the man pushed open the door and went inside.
There was already someone inside, and the sound of flowing water could be heard.
"Hey! Why did you start drinking all by yourself before we even arrived?" the man said helplessly.
"Tch, drinking this wine is like drinking gold. I'll drink as much as I can before you guys come. Once you arrive, I'll drink much less," the man said with a shrug.
"You!" He shook his head, walked over and sat down. The man took two jade cups from the jade table and poured wine into them.
All that could be heard was a crisp, clear sound, like the tapping of bowls and chopsticks, accompanied by the rich, mellow aroma of wine, which was truly delightful.
“Every time I come here, I always order a jar of peach blossom wine. The waiters won’t bring it to you; you have to dig it up yourself in the peach grove behind the house. If you’re lucky, you might even find the strongest, longest-aged wine.” The man was clearly a regular here and knew a lot about the place.
"Damn it, why didn't you say so earlier? I've come here with you several times, and you're just going to make me drink this 'Daughter's Red' wine?" The man, who had been so lazy just moments before, suddenly flew into a rage and said in a vicious voice.
