Male Lead: Seduce me quickly! Leng Yue: No, no, no, I can't do it!
Male Lead: I allow you to seduce me! Leng Yue: ... This generation's male lead is so hard to handle, I want to go ho...
Just as the tall vampire had said, the cellar in the backyard contained dozens of corpses. These corpses had all been drained of blood, and each one was shriveled and terrifying.
Because of the cold weather, there were no signs of decay. However, when everyone saw the cellar filled with corpses, they couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness.
Lily, in particular, couldn't help but vomit the moment she opened the cellar door.
“These are all guests who come to stay, and I’ll add ingredients to their food. Around midnight, when I hear a knock at the door, I’ll let the Charlie brothers, oh, you know, those two vampires you’re talking about, in. After they leave, I’ll hide their bodies in this cellar.” Julie recounted her crimes in a monotonous manner, clearly no longer caring about such things.
"Won't this arouse suspicion?" Andrew found it hard to accept. "Does nobody here care about this?"
“Manage? Who’s going to manage? How many normal people are left in this whole town?” Julia looked at Andrew with a terrifying gaze. “Don’t even mention the people in this town, even you will mutate if you stay here too long.”
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Andrew was startled by Julia's gaze and words, and couldn't help but take a step back.
"Julia, what do you mean by this?" Sam looked at Julia with a serious expression, a stark contrast to his previous sadness.
“Sam, are you scared?” Julia chuckled. “Wouldn’t it be better if we all became the same kind? That way we could stay together forever.”
"Julia, please answer my question seriously." Sam looked at the somewhat deranged Julia and couldn't help but scold her softly.
“That red jewel will cause mutations.” Julia looked into Sam’s eyes. “I believe this town will soon fall. I advise you to leave as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will mutate too.”
“I’m serious, you’d better leave as soon as possible. But could you please take my daughter with you? She’s so young, I can’t let her die here.” Julia’s voice softened when she spoke of her daughter.
"What are you talking about, the red jewels?" Sam was a little confused. "You mean, you became like this not because of vampires?"
“Yes, we weren’t infected by vampires at all. The Charlie brothers brought back a cursed red jewel from the mountain; anyone who touches it will mutate.” Julia also regretted it; she really shouldn’t have been greedy and touched that jewel. But now it was too late to say anything.
"You must leave now! My daughter, Mabel, is locked in the attic. Please take her with you," Julia pleaded with Sam. "Sam, please, she's really important to me."
Sam pondered for a moment before nodding. "Alright, we'll take your daughter with us."
Julia was overjoyed and immediately led the people upstairs. "Here, please follow me. I knew this place was no longer safe the day we mutated, so I've kept her locked in the attic."
“Julia, come with us!” Sam suddenly stopped and looked at Julia seriously. “It’s not safe for you to be here alone. Whether it’s Blood Hunters or other vampires, they are all a threat to you.”
Julia also stopped, but didn't turn around. "I can't be a burden to you, a burden to Mabel. I can't let Mabel see me like this."
“But…” Sam wanted to say something more, but found that Julia had already gone upstairs.
Andrew patted Sam on the shoulder, shook his head, and followed. Sam stood there, unable to describe his feelings.
Once up in the attic, Julia called out "Baby!" as she took out her key and opened the door. "Maibao, Mommy's here, you can go out and play...Maibao? Maibao? Where are you?"
Julia rushed inside, calling out "Mai Bao" as she searched everywhere. But Mai Bao had vanished into thin air!
The others who came in later looked at each other, none of them knowing where Mabel had gone. Sam was still at the back, but when he heard Julia's scream, he rushed in quickly.
"What's going on?" Sam entered the attic and looked at everyone.
“Maibao is missing,” Andrew said softly.
Julia was still searching around, her voice filled with worry. Her expression suggested she wanted to cry, but she couldn't shed a single tear.
"Sam, Mabel is missing!" Julia grabbed Sam as if he were a lifeline.
“Calm down, Julia!” Sam tried to reassure Julia. “Mabel is still a little kid, she wouldn’t go out by herself. Let’s look again!”
Sam had met Julia's daughter, or rather, every guest who stayed at the hotel would meet Mabel. Mabel was a little girl of about ten years old, and because she was still losing her baby teeth, she always spoke with a slight lisp. So Mabel didn't like to talk much, and only liked to smile with her lips pursed.
But because she was so cute, all the guests liked to tease her, make her talk, and make her laugh. Sam did too; he would chat with Mabel every time he came.
Andrew checked the window and the surroundings but found nothing unusual. Clearly, Mabel had vanished into thin air.
Julia sat on Mabel's bed, looking distressed. Sam sat beside her helplessly, while Andrew continued searching everywhere.
After a long silence, Leng Yue and Qian Chen finally spoke.
"When was the last time you saw Mei Bao?" Leng Yue asked first.
“Last night, because the Charlie brothers hadn’t shown up, I was worried about Mabel, so I went to check on her. It must have been around one o’clock when I opened the door and found her still sleeping soundly.” Julia covered her face. “What should I do? Where did my Mabel go?”
"How could she not be here? Sam, do you think she might have been kidnapped by other vampires? What should we do? What should I do?" Julia was completely lost and could only frantically grab Sam's hand.
“I can sense that there are other people in this room,” Leng Yue and Qian Chen discussed in hushed tones.
Qianchen nodded, "Me too, it must be Meibao, right?"
"Does your daughter have superpowers?" Leng Yue asked, though she felt the question might be inappropriate.
“Of course not!” Julia exclaimed excitedly. “Maibao is just an ordinary child. How could she possibly have superpowers?”
"I apologize, I didn't mean to offend you. We all sensed the presence of other people in this room, so..." Leng Yue's tone was calm, but those who heard her found it hard to remain calm.
"Really? You mean Mabel has been in this room the whole time?" Julia jumped up immediately. "Mabel? Mabel, it's Mommy, can you come out?"
“Mom…” Suddenly, Julia heard Mabel’s voice.
"Where are you? Meibao, why can't Mommy see you?" Julia's hands groped around.
“Mom, I…” Mei Bao hadn’t finished speaking when she fell silent again. Julia only vaguely heard the words “Save me.”
"Mei Bao? Mei Bao?" Julia could no longer hear any sound. She turned to look at Leng Yue. "Where did Mei Bao go? Please help me!"
Leng Yue and Qian Chen discovered that Mei Bao's life force had ceased, and could only shake their heads in regret. Julia, seeing their disappointment, turned and jumped out of the window.
