After an accidental death, Shi Lan travels through various worlds to help those female supporting characters who were cannon foddered achieve their wishes and live anew.
She experiences vario...
The news that the next head of the Ning family was getting married spread to every household that had any dealings with the Ning family within a day. Everyone knew Ning Yuze's personality; they had initially thought he was going to become a monk, but who knew he would do it so quietly and in one fell swoop.
Upon hearing this news, Mu Fan immediately called Ning Yuze to verify it. After receiving an accurate answer, he was stunned and, in a moment of madness, dialed Zhou Lisha's number instead.
He had gone abroad for work, supposedly on official business, but actually because he had been sent away by his father to reflect on his behavior. When he returned and received this shocking news, his first thought was that Ning Yuze had really been taken by Zhou Lisha that night and then they got married because of her pregnancy.
He called Zhou Lisha, actually wanting to test his wildly imaginative idea.
Unexpectedly, Zhou Lisha broke down and screamed upon hearing the news, which startled him so much that he quickly hung up the phone.
Inside the mansion, Shi Lan tidied up the repaired clothes, packed them up, and prepared to deliver them when she had time.
Ning Yuze flipped through the honeymoon destinations left by the wedding planner with great interest, finally picking out a stack of those that interested him and asking Shi Lan, "Which one do you like?"
Shi Lan smiled slightly but did not answer.
In her opinion, even if she made a decision now, it would be useless. She only needed to restore his consciousness on their wedding night, and he would return to Haoze to help him resist or kill the evil creature.
Ning Yuze tilted his head and flipped through one of the books. Finding it difficult to choose, he simply said, "Forget it, let's just go to all of them."
Shi Lan remained silent. Ning Yuze gave her a fawning smile, then suddenly seemed to remember something, pushed aside the documents, got up, and left.
Shi Lan gave him a strange look, but didn't take it seriously.
Ever since she accepted his impromptu marriage proposal yesterday, his behavior has been particularly strange.
Carrying the wrapped clothes, Shi Lan went downstairs. She needed to deliver the embroidered dress to the right person before the wedding, since she had put a lot of effort into it and deserved payment.
The housekeeper didn't want Shi Lan to go out, so he arranged for Wen Jiao to deliver it to her.
In the mansion, only Shuiqin and Wenjiao were responsible for tidying up the house. If things were as usual, there would be no problem. However, because of the wedding, the housekeeper demanded that there not be a speck of dust in the entire mansion, which kept Shuiqin and Wenjiao very busy.
Wen Jiao didn't dare to go against the housekeeper, and knowing that Shi Lan had a good personality, she agreed to his request in person and then came to plead with him in a soft voice.
Shi Lan had a good relationship with Wen Jiao, and also knew about the situation at the mansion, so she said she would go by herself.
Wen Jiao thanked them profusely and ran out to call the bodyguards to drive over.
Once in the car, Shi Lan was surprised to find that Chen Hao was still driving. "What a coincidence."
Chen Hao smiled at Shi Lan and said, "It just so happens to be my turn to be on duty."
Shi Lan nodded and turned to look out the window.
Chen Hao silently drove the car into the city. After she handed the things to the clothing store owner and sat down again, he suddenly asked, "Do you really like the young master?"
Shi Lan looked at him strangely. Wasn't that obvious? If she didn't like him, why did she marry him?
Chen Hao didn't expect her to answer, and answered his own question, "The young master is good-looking and rich, who wouldn't like him?"
Shi Lan frowned, tilted her head, leaned back in her seat, closed her eyes to rest, and didn't open them again as the car moved and stopped.
Chen Hao seemed to have lost interest in talking and silently drove the car into the gas station.
A faint smell of gasoline wafted over, and Shi Lan squinted at the outside before closing her eyes, uninterested.
Chen Hao opened the car door and got out. A moment later, the car door opened again and closed.
The guy outside the gas station said, "All done."
The car then started and slid onto the road.
The car continued speeding along the road, silence filling the small space.
After a while, Shi Lan estimated that they were almost there, so she opened her eyes, only to be so shocked by the unfamiliar and desolate scenery outside the window that she froze.
The person in the driver's seat noticed Shi Lan's movement and immediately changed his posture, holding the steering wheel firmly with one hand and using the other hand to hold a sharp dagger against Shi Lan's neck.
"If I were you, I would sit still and behave."
Shi Lan leaned back slowly in her chair and carefully turned her head.
"It's you?"
Hearing her surprised tone, as if she recognized him, the man subconsciously turned his head and saw Shi Lan raise an eyebrow. "What, it's you?"
Hearing him say that, Shi Lan breathed a slight sigh of relief, which meant that his original target was not her.
The man cursed under his breath and slammed the steering wheel hard.
The car made a sharp turn and left the smooth asphalt road, onto a dirt road.
The car started to jolt violently. Shi Lan licked her lips and suggested dryly, "I'm not going to drive. Could you put both hands on the steering wheel? I'm worried we'll both end up in a ditch if you do that."
The man glared at her fiercely, but he had experienced the power of her words before, so he immediately put away the dagger and gripped the steering wheel tightly.
The sharp blade finally moved away, and Shi Lan breathed a slight sigh of relief.
The man turned the car into a dilapidated factory and got out.
Shi Lan remained seated.
The man walked around to the front of the car, opened the door on her side, and gestured for her to get out.
Shi Lan glanced at the man very quickly.
He was tall and muscular, with large hands and strong knuckles; he clearly knew a thing or two.
The man also took the opportunity to observe her as she got out of the car.
She was thin and frail, with arms so thin they barely had any flesh on them; she looked like an innocent and naive young girl.
The man had mixed feelings about her ability to make accurate and unerring predictions.
If it weren't for her, he would probably have already been put into the furnace and turned into a pile of ashes. How could a thousand dollars repay such a debt of gratitude?
