Chapter Thirty: The Resumption of the College Entrance Examination (2/2)

The most pressing matter right now is the college entrance exam, and Lin Jin doesn't want to be distracted by these messy things. She's focused entirely on her studies, hoping to pass the exam smoothly and start a new chapter in her life. However, if those people are stubborn and insist on causing her trouble, well, Lin Jin certainly has plenty of ways to deal with them. Then, who wins and who loses is uncertain! After returning home, Tian Guixiang cried to her husband and father-in-law, exaggerating and saying many bad things about Lin Jin. The accountant and his son frowned upon hearing this. But they also knew that Lin Jin was currently under close scrutiny from higher-ups and couldn't be easily touched. Therefore, they decided to secretly cause her trouble.

The next day, rumors spread in the village that Lin Jin's pills were made with fake medicine and would not only fail to cure the illness but also cause dizziness.

Lin Jin just sneered when he heard the rumor. Fake medicine? How ridiculous! Who would believe that? Sure enough, the rumor disappeared in a few days.

With the college entrance exam drawing ever closer, Lin Jin decided to make one last trip to the black market to sell all the vegetables, fruits, and medicinal herbs stored in her spatial storage. She would simply wait for her return, just as before. The villagers looked at her with a mixture of envy, disdain, and scorn.

Lin Jin was still pondering this, and even as she walked closer to her own courtyard, she still couldn't figure it out. From afar, she saw Aunt Wang standing there, as if she had been waiting for her. Lin Jin quickly quickened her pace, pushing her somewhat old bicycle hurriedly towards her.

"Aunt Wang, what are you doing here? Is there something you need me for?" Lin Jin said as she propped up her car and looked at Aunt Wang with a puzzled expression.

Aunt Wang first looked around warily before cautiously following Lin Jin into the courtyard. As soon as they entered, Lin Jin greeted them warmly, "Aunt Wang, please sit down for a while. I'll pour you a glass of water to quench your thirst."

However, before Lin Jin could turn around to pour water, Aunt Wang quickly waved her hand and said, "Oh, no need for water, Jin girl, I have something important to tell you this time!"

Seeing this, Lin Jin's heart tightened. She quickly pulled up a stool and sat down next to Aunt Wang, anxiously asking, "Aunt Wang, what's wrong? Why are you so worried?"

Aunt Wang leaned closer to Lin Jin and whispered, "Jin'er, there's been some gossip going around in the village today. They say someone saw you flirting with that married woman from town..." Aunt Wang paused, glancing at Lin Jin's reaction.

Upon hearing this, Lin Jin's eyes widened in shock and anger as she exclaimed, "What? Who spread this rumor?! This is utter nonsense!"

Aunt Wang gently patted Lin Jin's hand, comforting her, "Jin'er, don't be anxious or upset. Of course, I believe you're not that kind of person. I was worried you'd be wronged after hearing these rumors, so I came over to tell you secretly, just in case, so you can be prepared. A girl's reputation is precious; we can't let anyone ruin it for no reason!"

Lin Jin frowned and pondered for a moment before softly asking Aunt Wang, "Aunt Wang, do you know who first spread this news?" Aunt Wang quickly replied, "Oh dear, today when I passed by the stone mill, I overheard several people talking about it. I peeked in out of curiosity and saw people from Tie Shu's family, Yang Wu's family, and Da Nian's family. But as soon as they saw me, they immediately shut up. Later, when I got to the village entrance, I heard people talking about it again! But I'm not sure exactly who started it; you'll have to check it out yourself."

As soon as she finished speaking, Aunt Wang hurriedly turned and left. Watching Aunt Wang's retreating figure, Lin Jin felt a surge of indescribable anger and disappointment. She never imagined that such a disgusting group of people existed in the village. She had always naively believed that everyone in the village was kind-hearted, simply because those she had interacted with in the past happened to be good people.

However, everything that had happened made Lin Jin realize that if she didn't take action to fight back, those people would probably really take her for a weak and easily bullied person. So, after careful consideration, she secretly made up her mind that she must go to the production team leader tomorrow. If the leader refused to help her, she would not hesitate to call the police to protect her rights.
