Su Yao was reborn with the painful memories of the previous apocalypse. With only a month until the apocalypse struck again, she decided not to sit idly by.
She spent all her savings to hoard...
After resting at home for a while and regaining some strength, Su Yao began planning her next stockpiling trip. She knew that in this extremely cold apocalyptic world, resources were the hope for survival, and she had to seize every opportunity to collect more supplies.
She wrapped herself in her winter coat again and stepped out of the safe house. This time, she headed towards the edge of the city, where there were factories and warehouses where she might find something unexpected. The cold wind whipped across her face like a knife, but Su Yao's eyes held only determination.
Arriving at a food processing plant, the gate was covered in thick ice and snow, almost unrecognizable. Su Yao stretched out her hands, releasing her fire-based supernatural power. Red flames danced in her palms, and the ice and snow began to melt rapidly. With a series of crackling sounds, the ice on the gate shattered and fell away. She pushed the gate open forcefully, revealing a dimly lit interior.
Su Yao took out a flashlight from her spatial storage, illuminating the vast space. Inside the processing plant, there were many unpackaged food ingredients, bags of sugar and salt, and a large quantity of spices. These things might seem insignificant in normal times, but they were precious resources in the apocalypse. She quickly packed these ingredients into her spatial storage. At the same time, she also discovered some processing equipment. Although she couldn't take it with her, she studied it carefully, thinking that perhaps she could use it in the future.
Next, she discovered a cold storage room in the processing plant's basement. Inside were some frozen meats; although some had begun to spoil due to the power outage, others were still edible. Without hesitation, Su Yao stored the meats in her spatial storage, knowing that this protein was crucial for her family's survival.
After leaving the food processing plant, Su Yao headed towards a building materials warehouse not far away. The warehouse door was tightly closed and locked, but this was no obstacle for her, who possessed supernatural abilities. High-temperature flames melted the lock cylinder, and the door slowly opened. The warehouse was filled with various building materials: cement, bricks, wood, and so on. Su Yao thought for a moment; although these materials were heavy, they could be used to reinforce safe houses or build some temporary protective facilities. So, she began selecting some of the better quality materials and storing them in her spatial storage.
In a corner of the building materials warehouse, Su Yao also found some solar panels and batteries. This was a pleasant surprise; in this energy-scarce apocalypse, the solar panels could provide them with a stable power source. She carefully put away the solar equipment, imagining that the safe house would never have to worry about power problems again.
Afterwards, Su Yao went to a hardware store. The store had a wide variety of tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers. She collected all of these tools, along with some wire and rope, as these small items could come in handy in many situations. In the hardware store's warehouse, she also found some large metal pipes, which could be used to make simple heating devices or build drainage systems.
Continuing her journey, Su Yao arrived at a textile factory. The factory had a large quantity of fabric, including thick, warm cloth and cotton fabric. She stored all the fabric into her spatial storage, thinking she could make more warm clothing and bedding. She also found some sewing tools and thread, which would allow her to make better use of the fabric.
As time went by, Su Yao's storage space was already full, but she still didn't want to miss any place that might contain supplies. Dragging her weary body, she headed towards her next target—an abandoned electronics factory. There, she hoped to find some electronic components that might allow her to repair and improve some of their existing equipment.
When Su Yao returned to the safe house, it was already late. Her face was exhausted, but her eyes shone with satisfaction. The day's harvest had further enhanced their chances of survival. Her parents were overjoyed and relieved to see the supplies she had brought back. The family busied themselves organizing these new supplies, preparing for an even more brutal apocalypse.
