Wang Hu returned home humming a little tune, beaming with joy, his mind already brimming with satisfaction as he recounted his day's haul.

When he stepped into the house, the scene in front of him made him freeze instantly—Feng Fenfen was standing in the middle of the living room, holding a feather duster and looking fierce, and in front of her was an old washboard!

Seeing this, Wang Hu knew he was in trouble and turned to rush out the door. Unfortunately, it was too late. Wang Jianguo had locked the gate tightly at some point and was now standing side by side with Feng Fenfen, clearly intending to deal with this troublemaker.

Wang Hu looked at Wang Jianguo in despair, trying to beg his father for help, but when he rushed to another room, he found it empty. Even his usually doting grandfather had chosen to be absent at this crucial moment; it seemed he truly couldn't escape this calamity!

By this time, Feng Fenfen was already flushed with anger. She gritted her teeth and squeezed out a sentence: "You still think you can get someone to plead for you after all this? Let me tell you, you're definitely going to get a beating today!" With that, she slammed the washboard in her hand at Wang Hu and shouted angrily: "Kneel down!"

Wang Hu had been beaten many times since he was a child, but it was usually Wang Jianguo who did it. His mother, Feng Fenfen, had always doted on him and had never laid a finger on him.

Seeing Feng Fenfen's furious state, Wang Hu knew he had made a big mistake. He dared not disobey his mother and had no choice but to kneel down and lean on the cold, hard washboard.

As soon as he knelt down, Feng Fenfen's feather duster began to lash Wang Hu's back like a storm. Each lash brought a burning pain, and Wang Hu couldn't help but grit his teeth, trying his best not to cry out.

And so, Feng Fenfen slapped her more than a dozen times in one go, only stopping when she was panting heavily. Then, she plopped down on a chair next to her, propped her forehead with her hand, and said with a look of utter disappointment, "Tell me, do you even know why I hit you?"

Wang Hu lowered his head, pondering to himself. In truth, he already had some guesses as to why he had incurred this severe beating.

Before Wang Hu could answer, Feng Fenfen said, "Your dad and I used to worry that you wouldn't find a wife. You were so dull and lifeless. But you changed completely after you went out for a while, and now you're messing around like crazy!"

He then slapped Wang Hu a few more times, and continued, "Even rabbits know not to eat the grass near their burrows." He lowered his voice a little as he said this, "Luan Ying lives right behind our house, and you still went to her house. How come you earn so much money, but don't you know how to lead people out into the world? Why do you have to go looking for this kind of thrill?"

"Do you even know that your parents still live in the village, and your grandfather still lives in the village? If people find out, how are we supposed to live here?!"

He got angry again and beat Wang Hu on the back. Finally, when he was too tired to beat him, he said "Let's eat" and threw the feather duster into the kitchen!

Wang Jianguo stood by and watched coldly the whole time, never lifting a finger. Since Wang Hu grew up, he had never hit his son again, usually just giving him a few stern reprimands.

In Wang Jianguo's view, this was not a big deal at all, after all, there were countless similar situations in the village! It's just that no one was as bold as Wang Hu, so Wang Jianguo thought it was good that Feng Fenfen taught Wang Hu a lesson!

This beating did have some minor impact on Wang Hu. It would be almost impossible for him to completely get rid of this bad habit, but it at least made him restrain his behavior a little.

After everyone finished eating, Feng Fenfen came over with a tube of ointment. She originally intended to apply some ointment to Wang Hu to relieve the pain from being beaten. But to everyone's surprise, when Wang Hu took off his coat, there wasn't even a faint red mark to be seen on his back.

Seeing this, Feng Fenfen was so angry that she couldn't help but slap his back twice more. But to her surprise, these two slaps not only failed to make Wang Hu feel any pain, but instead made Feng Fenfen's own palms ache.

Feng Fenfen frowned and complained, "Oh dear, you're really tough! I hit you so hard and you didn't even leave a mark. Come on, let me try a few more times!"

Upon hearing this, Wang Hu was so frightened that he immediately begged his mother for forgiveness: "Mom, my dear mother, I know I was wrong, please forgive me, please don't hit me anymore!"

In fact, he truly felt the excruciating pain when his mother struck him, but now that his physical condition has improved considerably, his body's recovery ability has naturally increased as well.

After dinner, Wang Hu, despite having been beaten, became somewhat more obedient. That night, he didn't step out of his house at all, but instead received several phone calls from women in distant Ningbo. After chatting with them, he idly fiddled with his phone for a while before going to bed.

The next morning, before the sun had fully risen, Wang Hu was already awake. Without even having breakfast, he hurriedly jumped into his car and sped off towards the city. He had just been severely beaten the day before, but that seemed to have had no effect; he was already eager to find Liu Jie again first thing in the morning.

However, to Wang Hu's surprise, Liu Qingqing came to his door shortly after he left. When Feng Fenfen told her that Wang Hu had left early in the morning, a deep look of disappointment instantly appeared on Liu Qingqing's face. Then, she walked out of Wang Hu's house in a daze.
