Chapter 399 Xiaoman

"I can't bring myself to call out."

Bai Jiaojiao pursed her lips.

"There's nothing you can't say, you'll get used to it."

"Then call me 'wife' and let me hear it."

Bai Jiaojiao stared at Shen Heng.

Shen Heng paused for a moment, then blushed and couldn't help but laugh.

"Go ahead and call out," Bai Jiaojiao laughed along.

Shen Heng touched his nose: "Why does it feel so awkward?"

"You still dare to talk back to me." Bai Jiaojiao kicked Shen Heng, and Shen Heng became obedient after being kicked, no longer mentioning making Bai Jiaojiao change her way of speaking.

The two of them made a scene in the room all afternoon, while Yang Fenglin, left unattended, sat at the entrance of the guesthouse smoking.

The lady at the guesthouse even reminded him, "Young man, smoke less, and clean up your cigarette butts yourself, or you'll be fined!"

The woman's accent clearly indicated she was a native of the area. Yang Fenglin only half-understood her meaning when he saw her pointing at the cigarette in her hand.

Yang Fenglin choked for a moment and stubbed out his cigarette.

After seeing this, the older woman ignored him.

Yang Fenglin sat by the door, feeling bored and with nothing to do. Just as he was about to get up and go back to his room, a woman came out of the guesthouse and smiled and nodded at him.

Yang Fenglin didn't know her, but he was a very outgoing person. The moment their eyes met, he nodded to her.

When the woman saw his response, her smile widened: "What are you doing here? Why aren't you out working in broad daylight?"

Yang Fenglin said, "I came here to have fun. I went out for a walk during the day, but now I don't know where to go. It's not very interesting."

His brother-in-law and sister were inside together, and they weren't coming out. How could he possibly knock on the door? What if he disturbed their good time? Wouldn't his brother-in-law hold a grudge against him?

He couldn't stay in his room, so he sat at the entrance of the guesthouse, watching people come and go.

The woman looked to be in her early twenties. She had an ordinary but pleasing appearance, was tall, and dressed fashionably. As she moved closer, Yang Fenglin smelled a fragrance.

She turned to Yang Fenglin and said, "You're new here, so you probably don't know where to go for fun, right? I know a great place with all sorts of acrobatic performances and stunts. It's really fun. Do you want to come with me?"

Seeing that it was still early before dinner, Yang Fenglin readily accepted the invitation when he heard about the variety show: "Come on, I'll go with you. Hey, my name is Yang Fenglin, what's yours?"

"My name is Xiaoman."

Yang Fenglin found Xiaoman to be outgoing and generous, and he became somewhat interested in her.

He's always been a talkative and chatty person, and he didn't say a word the whole way.

Xiaoman led Yang Fenglin to a residential area that seemed to have not been renovated. After several turns, the noise gradually increased.

The houses here are very dilapidated, but there is a wide road that is crowded with people and quite lively.

"Wow."

Standing at the end, Yang Fenglin couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

"How about it, isn't it lively here? I like to come here to stroll around when I have nothing to do. But you must not be fooled. Look at that guy selling dog skin plasters. He specializes in scamming people like you with out-of-town accents. Don't believe him when he says he can cure any ailment."

"Don't worry, Xiaoman, do you think I'd be so easily fooled?"

Yang Fenglin and Xiaoman entered the street together.

The street was bustling like no other place Yang Fenglin had ever seen before. It was different from the shopping mall they had visited that morning. This place was more like a spontaneous gathering place for ordinary people. There were vendors selling handicrafts and some acrobatic performances. Yang Fenglin was immediately drawn to a sugar-blowing vendor and bought one to hold in his hand. He also generously bought one for Xiaoman as well.
