When the seas become polluted, followed by acidic rain, massive storms, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, smog, extreme heat, blizzards, freezing cold, and various disasters kept occurring nonstop, mon...
When Junjue and Wan'er returned to their room at the base, both of them felt physically and mentally exhausted.
Thinking of Wan'er's endurance and exhaustion over the past few months, Junjue tenderly stroked her hair and said softly:
"Wan'er, we've been fighting aliens outside for months, and we can finally come back to rest."
“Yes! After months of exhaustion and sleepless nights, I can barely keep my eyes open when I see a bed now,” Wan’er replied.
“Honey! Let’s eat something and rest for a few days and nights to make up for the rest we’ve missed over the past few months,” Junjue suggested.
"Great! I like this suggestion!"
"I want pigeon soup, braised pork, sweet and sour pork ribs, pickled fish, stir-fried bok choy, and a slice of matcha cream cake," Wan'er ordered without hesitation.
"No problem!" Junjue quickly took out the things Wan'er had ordered, placed them on the table, and then served the two of them a bowl of rice.
"Honey! Everything's out, come and eat!"
When Wan'er saw the table full of delicious food, tears streamed down her face. She swallowed hard and pulled Junjue to sit down.
"It's been so long since I've had a hot and delicious meal. For the past few days, I've been eating whatever I could find in that stinky environment. It's really a bit strange to eat in this comfortable and refreshing place!" Wan'er said with a smile.
"You'll get used to it soon!" Junjue served Wan'er a lot of food and a bowl of pigeon soup, and ate with her quickly.
They sat comfortably on either side of the table, with a sumptuous and nutritious dinner in front of them.
Wan'er picked up the spoon and slowly stirred the food in the bowl. Her eyes were somewhat dazed, as if the long battle had worn down her spirit.
The Duke gazed at Wan'er, still unable to forget the terrible things she had experienced in the lair.
He knew that she needed rest and comfort more than anyone else.
Gently, he reached out and took Wan'er's hand, conveying his warmth and comfort.
Wan'er trembled slightly, then silently placed her hand in Junjue's palm.
"We're finally back," the Duke said, his voice tinged with exhaustion and helplessness. "We did our best, we rescued so many people, but there were just too many of those alien beasts; we simply couldn't kill them all."
Thinking of that large den where 100,000 compatriots died, and how many other dens also saw many compatriots perish.
Wan'er raised her head and looked at Junjue with her red and swollen eyes. She used to be an optimistic and sunny girl, but the battle brought her too much suffering.
She said softly, "Lord, is it really impossible for us to defeat these disgusting aliens?"
They are not only disgusting, but also bloodthirsty and ruthless killers!
Junjue held Wan'er's hand tightly, trying to suppress the helplessness in his heart. His voice was weak but firm:
"Wan'er, we must believe in ourselves. Although the battle was tough, at least we successfully rescued some people."
They are survivors, seeds of hope. We cannot give up; we must persevere to the very end.
Tears welled in Wan'er's eyes; she sensed the strength and hope within Junjue's heart.
She held the Duke's hand tightly and nodded gently, indicating her determination.
The two continued to eat their dinner in silence, without saying a word, because they both understood that at this moment, words could not express the emotions and determination in their hearts.
All they need is each other's company and support, to prove their will and courage through their actions.
After dinner, Junjue picked up the map on the table and stared at the red dots and arrows on it, which marked their battle trajectory and next target.
He outlined new plans and strategies in hopes of defeating the aliens more effectively.
Wan'er looked at Junjue silently. She knew that Junjue was her strongest support, as well as her motivation and courage to fight.
No matter how great the difficulties ahead, they will face them hand in hand and never back down.
Their eyes met, revealing a firm belief and hope for the future.
Their fatigue and stress will be replaced by new determination and belief.
Although the battle remains arduous, they believe that as long as they do not give up, brave humans will eventually defeat the demons and rebuild their homeland.
Junjue and Wan'er quietly savored the last bite of their dinner, their hearts filled with a longing for battle and a beautiful vision of humanity's future.
Although the intense battle is not yet over, they have found inner peace and strength.
The delicious dinner lasted for half an hour. Wan'er patted her full stomach, feeling satisfied and happy.
"I'm full. I'm going to take a shower first, and then I'll sleep for days and nights."
Go ahead! I'll be waiting for you!
When Junjue saw Wan'er enter the bathroom, he quickly cleaned up the leftover food on the table before sitting on the sofa to wait for her.
Night fell, and starlight dotted the restless earth.
Half an hour later, Junjue saw Wan'er emerge from the bathroom with a flushed face and water droplets dripping from her hair onto her sexy collarbone. She was only wearing a bath towel, and her slender and sexy figure was full of magic.
The Duke gazed at her intently, his heart filled with beautiful thoughts of her.
He knew that Wan'er had been working too hard killing alien beasts recently, so he decided to suppress his restlessness, walk over to her, and help her dry her hair.
"Wan'er, are you very tired? You've worked hard," Junjue said gently.
Wan'er raised her head, smiled, and nodded at him. "Lord, it's worth it to give everything to save these survivors."
Junjue gently stroked Wan'er's disheveled hair with his fingers, feeling its smooth texture. "Yes, we've been working hard. But you also need to rest."
