Xia He twisted slightly, trying to break free from this unnatural position, but found herself tightly bound. She frowned, slowly opened her eyes, and began to survey her surroundings. The room was filled with a strong scent of plants, and the walls were covered with tangled vines, as if it were a plant kingdom in this abandoned research institute.

Xiao Lin felt Xia He wriggle and thought she should be awake by now, so he opened his eyes as well. His brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes revealed a hint of alertness. The two exchanged glances in silence, conveying their understanding of the situation.

Just then, the door was pushed open, and a figure walked in. He was a slightly thin man, wearing a tattered lab coat, with a sly smile on his face.

"Finally awake, huh? I was wondering how long you could hold out. Looks like you're not all that great after all." The man's voice was hoarse.

"I didn't expect this abandoned research institute to be so capable, managing to lure and capture such a master." The man continued, seemingly quite interested in Xia He and Xiao Lin's identities.

Xia He snorted coldly, "Who are you?"

The man smiled even more smugly, "I am the owner of this research institute, and you two will be my latest experimental subjects."

"Experimental subjects?" Xia He asked coldly. "We have no intention of becoming your playthings."

The man remained unmoved, his smile widening. "You may be unwilling, but here, you have no choice. I have been waiting for a long time, and finally, I have found two interesting test subjects."

After speaking, the man raised his hand, and the plants in the room began to move, as if responding to their master's command. Xia He and Xiao Lin felt the vines around them begin to move rhythmically, like a group of pythons obeying orders.

"It seems you have a peculiar control over plants," Xiao Lin said calmly, a hint of coldness in his eyes.

The man smiled smugly. "Yes, I have unique research on these mutated plants. You will become part of my research results."

"What exactly do you want to do?" Xia He asked.

The man smiled mysteriously. "My purpose? Heh, that's a big secret. But you can look forward to seeing what role you'll play in my research."

"However, I can tell you that you will participate in my great experiment! This is a rhapsody of life and nature! See those zombies outside? Those are all my proud creations!"

After saying that, the man demonstrated to the two of them how his arm turned into plant vines!

"What a madman!" Xia He couldn't help but curse.

The man heard Xia He's curses but only smiled and remained silent. His eyes gleamed with a fanaticism and madness, as if he were filled with a unique fascination for his experiment.

Suddenly, he raised his hand and waved it, causing the surrounding vines to become active, binding Xia He and Xiao Lin even more tightly. The two felt a powerful force constricting their bodies, making it difficult to breathe.

"Now, let's begin my experiment." A glint of excitement flashed in the man's eyes.

Under his control, the surrounding plants underwent a strange transformation. Xia He and Xiao Lin saw that the roots of those plants seemed to be oozing a peculiar liquid, emitting a strange odor.

"Watch closely, you will become my latest research subjects. I'm going to let you experience the wonderful feeling of life and plants becoming one!" The man grinned menacingly, and with a flick of his finger, plant liquid surged towards Xia He and Xiao Lin like snakes.

How could Xia He and Xiao Lin give the man such a chance? Suddenly, their bodies burst with silver light! The vines on their bodies exploded, and then Xia He quickly formed hand seals, creating fireballs that shot towards the surrounding mutated plants.

At the same time, Xiao Lin unleashed his powerful spiritual energy, shattering the surrounding vines one by one. The fireball and spiritual energy complemented each other, creating a dazzling light that illuminated the laboratory as if it were daytime.

"Do you think you can stop my experiment?" The man's face revealed a ferocious smile. With a flick of his finger, a powerful plant energy gathered and formed a thick wall, blocking Xia He and Xiao Lin's way.

Xia He's lips curled into a cold smile. "You think you can stop us with such a little trick?"

She swung her Green Dragon Crescent Blade violently, unleashing flames that instantly engulfed the plant wall. Xiao Lin, on the other hand, released even more powerful spiritual energy, forming a light barrier that repelled everything in the laboratory.

The atmosphere in the laboratory instantly became tense, and the man's expression turned ferocious. He hissed, "You think this is the end? My experiments aren't so easily disrupted."

As soon as he finished speaking, his body began to mutate. His skin gradually became covered with plant patterns, and his eyes flashed with green light. His arms grew rapidly, turning into twisted plant tentacles, making him look like a demon.

"This is my true power! You absolutely cannot stop me!" The man laughed wildly, and plant tentacles lunged at Xia He and Xiao Lin.

Xia He smiled coldly, and as she wielded her Green Dragon Crescent Blade, flames coalesced into an indestructible barrier, repelling the onslaught of the plant tentacles. Xiao Lin, meanwhile, used his spiritual power to protect himself, resisting the man's plant attacks.

The battle reached a stalemate, with the sounds of flames and colliding plants filling the laboratory. Xia He and Xiao Lin, facing their crazed experimenter, had to give it their all, or they would become victims of his evil experiments.

The man's plant tentacles lashed out incessantly, but Xia He and Xiao Lin worked in perfect harmony, weaving flames and spiritual energy together to form a powerful defensive line. However, the man's mutation was progressing rapidly; his body was becoming more and more like a plant, and his arms were transforming into enormous tentacles that seemed capable of endless growth.
