Chapter 21 Physics Notes
The library has air conditioning and heating on, so it's not as cold as outside.
Jiang Wan took off her down jacket and draped it over the chair next to her, revealing a light pink knitted sweater underneath.
The table in the corner is near the window. Through the glass, the clear sunlight becomes warm and gentle, making her face look rosy with a faint blush on her cheeks.
It matches her light pink sweater perfectly.
Zhou Chong was very fast at solving problems. In less than two hours, he had finished all the weekend homework for his four subjects: math, physics, chemistry, and biology.
He put away his physics test paper, and when he glanced up casually, he saw Jiang Wan, who looked as delicate and pretty as a porcelain doll.
She didn't tie her hair up today, but let it fall loosely down her back. Her smooth, black hair cascaded down her snow-white neck, some falling in front of her chest and some down her back.
The ends of her hair were slightly curled, curving inwards in a small arc, like a little hook that caught Zhou Chong's gaze.
A delicate and beautiful doll should always have a smiling face.
But now, the doll is frowning, biting the pen with her pearly white teeth, looking quite distressed.
Zhou Chong's gaze slowly moved down and landed on the exam paper in front of Jiang Wan.
It was the physics test he had just finished; Jiang Wan's paper was mostly blank.
She repeatedly put down her pen, scribbled on the draft paper, then crossed it out, turned to a new page, and continued to stare blankly at that mechanics problem.
Zhou Chong looked at it for a while, then stretched out his hand, pointing to the question with his fingertip, "Do you want me to teach you?"
Jiang Wan was taken aback. She looked up from under the finger resting on the paper and met Zhou Chong's gaze. Her previously furrowed brows relaxed and her eyes curved into a smile. "Yes."
Zhou Chong's lips twitched slightly. He grabbed her test paper, turned it 90 degrees, and placed it between the two of them, intending to explain the problem to her.
Just then, Jiang Wan suddenly tugged at his sleeve.
"Zhou Chong, it's so uncomfortable to look at the questions with your neck twisted like this. Why don't you sit over here with me?"
As she spoke, she patted the chair next to her.
Zhou Chong turned his gaze over, and Jiang Wan quickly picked up the down jacket from the chair, folded it twice on her lap, and then waved to him.
There's just no way to deal with her.
Zhou Chong stood up, took the down jacket from her, and placed it on the empty seat next to him along with his own windbreaker. Then he walked over and sat down next to her.
Jiang Wan smiled and pulled the test paper back between the two of them. "Alright, you can go ahead and explain."
Zhou Chong picked up a pencil and drew two lines on the force diagram. "Let's look at the forces in the vertical direction first..."
The library was quiet. Zhou Chong deliberately kept his voice very soft and low, which sounded strangely deep and magnetic, as he would later become.
Jiang Wan's head was close to his, and his deep, magnetic voice penetrated her ear, making her heart flutter.
Strange, even though they were sitting next to each other just like in the classroom, Jiang Wan felt that everything was different.
Is it because I wasn't wearing my school uniform?
Or was it because Zhou Chong deliberately lowered his voice?
Or perhaps it's because the sunlight outside the window is just too wonderful.
In short, Jiang Wan was distracted.
Zhou Chong was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, revealing half of his fair and slender neck. His sharp chin was tapered inward, outlining a clean jawline.
It looks much better than a force analysis diagram.
"Did you understand?"
Zhou Chong paused, then looked up at him.
Jiang Wan snapped out of her daze, "...Hey, are you done talking?"
"Hmm." Zhou Chong nodded. "Is there anything else you don't understand?"
What I don't understand...
You don't understand anything at all, okay?
Jiang Wan scratched her head, then awkwardly looked down at the test paper. "It seems... I still don't quite understand. Could you explain it again?"
Zhou Chong frowned slightly and stared at her for a while.
"Wh...what's wrong?" Jiang Wan felt a little uncomfortable under his gaze. "If you won't tell it again, then forget it."
"No." Zhou Chong denied it quickly, turning his gaze away from her face and back to the question. "I'll explain it to you again."
He paused, then said, "I'll speak a little slower this time."
"good."
Jiang Wan put aside her chaotic thoughts and began to listen to the questions seriously.
Zhou Chong explained very slowly and in great detail this time. Jiang Wan understood how to solve the problem halfway through.
"I understand, I understand." Jiang Wan took the pen and continued writing quickly.
As it turns out, she has a strong comprehension ability; however, high school physics knowledge is simply too far removed from her life.
After reviewing for a while, she finally managed to pick up some concepts and memorize some formulas, but she still couldn't apply them flexibly and skillfully. When faced with complex problems involving multiple processes and complex forces, she was completely stumped.
Unlike Chinese, math, and English, Jiang Wan had almost never touched physics, chemistry, and biology again after leaving school, having forgotten them all.
Therefore, every time she does the assignments for these three courses, it feels like she's wearing a mask of pain.
"Okay, take a look and see if it's correct." After Jiang Wan finished the problem, she showed the solution process and answer to Zhou Chong.
Zhou Chong checked it over and said, "No problem."
Jiang Wan smiled and took back the test paper. "It's because you taught me well."
Zhou Chong paused for a moment, then looked at Jiang Wan, who was continuing to work on her problems. He took out his physics book from his bag and found an unused notebook.
-
Jiang Wan finished her physics exam with some difficulty, and it was already lunchtime.
"Phew, I'm so hungry." She took off the pen cap, put it on the nib, and then gathered up all the papers. "Let's go eat."
"Okay, just a moment."
She packed her things and turned around, just in time to see Zhou Chong writing a physics formula in his notebook.
The text, written in three different colors—black, blue, and red—is neatly arranged with first, second, and third-level headings categorized by type. Formulas, theorems, corollaries, and applicable question types are densely packed together.
Jiang Wan glanced at it briefly; it looked like a study guide for top students.
Zhou Chong put away his pen and turned to look at her. "Let's go."
Unable to contain her curiosity, Jiang Wan peered into the notebook in his hand. "Is this your physics notebook?"
Zhou Chong closed the notebook and smiled faintly. "I wrote it, but it's not mine."
"What do you mean?" Jiang Wan asked.
The next moment, the mysterious manual landed in Jiang Wan's hands.
"I saw you doing some problems earlier, and it seems your foundation isn't very solid, so I've compiled a list of mechanics-related problems. Take a look at it this afternoon, and ask me if you have any questions."
Jiang Wan held the notebook blankly, nodding repeatedly.
