Lin Man was just about to go into the space villa to take a bath when someone knocked on the door. Without thinking, who else could it be but Huo Qingci?

Lin Man stood up and opened the door. Looking at the tall man outside, she smiled and said, "Why are you here? Is your brother asleep?"

"He took a shower, lay down on the bed and fell asleep immediately."

"Then what are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." Huo Qingci said as he pulled Lin Man's hand and walked inside, closing the door casually.

He hugged Lin Man and sat on the bed, saying gently, "You've lost a lot of weight driving these past few days."

Lin Man said coquettishly: "How could that be?"

"My chin has become pointed."

Lin Man's appetite was indeed not very good these days in the car. The weather was hot and she didn't want to eat after just a few bites of rice. She always wanted to drink water or eat cold drinks. There were no cold drinks in the car, so she could only drink warm water.

Fortunately, she had the foresight to put a motion sickness patch behind her ear, so she didn't feel sick when riding in a car or on a boat, otherwise she would have suffered a lot.

Huo Qingci's fingers gently stroked the back of Lin Man's hand, his voice low and hoarse: "Manman, I miss you."

Huo Qingci's fingers gently stroked the place where Lin Man had been injured, his eyes full of heartache and pity.

He lowered his head and gently kissed the place where the scar was left. Lin Man's body couldn't help but tremble.

Her scars had healed, but Huo Qingci's kiss seemed to touch the softest corner of her heart.

Huo Qingci raised his head and looked at Lin Man. His shimmering peach blossom eyes were already stained with lust, and his voice was hoarse: "Manman, is it okay?"

He hugged Lin Man and sat her on his lap. Lin Man's breathing became rapid. She felt his desire and also her own desire.

Even though they were so tired from driving, they were still entangled tirelessly.

An hour later, Huo Qingci came out of the space holding Lin Man. They lay on the bed with Lin Man leaning in his arms.

"We have to take a bus to Sanya tomorrow, which will probably take several more hours!"

"My grandfather's comrade-in-arms will send someone to pick us up tomorrow. We should arrive at the 301 General Hospital this afternoon."

"So when are we going to see that old leader?"

"He's currently recuperating at the 301 Hospital. You can see him when you go there."

"Then go back to bed. Your brother is alone next door."

"Well, I'm going over now. You should go to bed early too."

Huo Qingci kissed Lin Man again, then got out of bed, put on his shoes, opened the door, took the key and went next door.

The next day they got up early and packed their luggage. Just after they finished breakfast, someone found the guesthouse where they were staying.

We set off from Haikou at 8 o'clock and arrived at Sanya Military Region General Hospital at nearly 12:30.

When they arrived at the hospital, they went to see the old commander first with cigarettes, alcohol and Beijing specialties without even having any meal. The commander sent someone to take them to the cafeteria for dinner.

The dishes on the table were either steamed redwood fish or steamed mixed fish, along with a large bowl of watercress soup. None of the dishes went well with the rice.

She had fish porridge in the morning, and now looking at the two plates of fish, Lin Man thought that the dishes on their table in the future would probably be these fish, shrimps and crabs. This place was so poor that they had to eat seafood every day.

Fortunately, she raised four pigs and dozens of chickens, ducks and geese in her space, so they could secretly eat some meat to satisfy their hunger.

After dinner, someone took the three of them to settle down first. There was a row of red brick houses behind the hospital, and Lin Man thought that their home was there. Who knew they would end up near the sanatorium.

Lin Man asked Huo Qingci, "Where are we going to live?"

"The commander said there are too many of us and the hospital dormitories wouldn't be enough for us, so he decided to move us to Houhai Village."

"ah?"

“Although the house here is made of adobe, it has two bedrooms, a living room, and a small yard.

If the old cadres from Beijing come here to recuperate during the Spring Festival, they will bring their families to live in these small courtyards, which are close to the hospital’s sanatorium.”

Lin Man thought that since the leaders liked these courtyards, they must be very beautiful, but she only found out when she arrived.

This adobe house looked somewhat dilapidated, with weeds growing in the front and back yards. The gate looked like it had been gnawed by rats, with holes all over it.

When I entered the room, I found that the newspapers on the wall were all yellowed and moldy, the windows were full of cobwebs, and the wooden bed in the room was bare and covered with thick dust.

They could go to the cafeteria for dinner, but how were they supposed to sleep tonight? Looking at the beams of light hitting the ground, Lin Man looked up again and saw that the roof was leaking as well.

After the hospital staff left, Lin Man asked Huo Qingci, "Are you sure someone lived in this yard before?"

"The commander said that an old leader from Beijing City lived here with his caregiver last winter. The sanatorium is not far from this yard.

Hua gave us this small courtyard. They will send someone to help us repair the roof later, but we have to plant the grass in the yard ourselves.

I'll go back to the hospital to complete the onboarding process and transfer our household registration files to the hospital. We'll clean up after I come back."

Now their household registration moves with them. This time they will move here first, and when they are transferred back to Beijing in the future, their household registration will be moved out with them.

"Go ahead, then. I'll tear off the moldy newspapers on the wall and dust off the cobwebs on the windows."

If Huo Qinghuan hadn't followed them here, she could have lived in a single dormitory with Huo Qingci. That row of red brick houses looked clean and much better than this place. There was also an open space in front of those houses with a row of coconut trees planted on it.
