Apocalypse降临 + Live Broadcast + National Destiny + Rule Tales怪谈 + Parallel Worlds
Eerie creatures descend upon Earth, rules become humanity's final showdown against the unspeakable.
Yin Zhu had a nightmare, which is quite rare for her.
She dreamt that she was in a strange city shrouded in thick fog, being chased by a colossal creature. Yin Zhu dared not look back, and could only run desperately, but she could not find the end of the city. It seemed that the city was constantly updating as she ran, and wherever she ran, the map would update to that point.
Everything around her filled her with fear, as if some monster might appear in the fog, or that there were more dangers in the city. Even though nothing happened, Yin Zhu in her dream was always very scared.
As she ran, Yin Zhu heard a familiar singing voice, like a guiding light illuminating the path she was on.
Yin Zhu woke up.
"...Hmm, what a strange dream."
Rubbing her head, Yin Zhu got up and started washing up. There were disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste in the room, which she could use after tearing off the plastic packaging.
Because she had just woken up from a deep dream, Yin Zhu's mind was not quite clear.
She couldn't help but recall that dream; to be precise, Yin Zhu couldn't help but savor the emotions she experienced in that dream, thereby analyzing the feelings that her dream conveyed to her.
Yin Zhu believes in dream interpretation, but not in other people's dream interpretation.
Dreams are usually a reflection of a person's inner self, an abstract and distorted combination of events encountered while awake, used to convey the person's emotions.
However, Yin Zhu did not believe those online interpretations, such as dreaming of snakes means good fortune, or dreaming of losing teeth means bad luck. They were all nonsense. What did it mean when she dreamed of a male streamer she had just met online, with whom she had no interaction and barely knew him, dressed in a maid outfit and wanting to take her in when she was being chased by a gang, and even trying to get her to wear a maid outfit too?
Dreams are a reflection of one's life; the focus is on one's feelings, not the specific circumstances within them.
Generally speaking, many people in China dream about going to school and taking exams when they are anxious. This is because most Chinese people suffer greatly from these two things during their school years, leaving a deep impression on their minds. So much so that when they are too anxious, their brains will recall that scene and form a dream.
However, foreigners might not feel this way. For people who don't find going to school painful, the scenarios that represent anxiety in their minds might be interviews, work, dating, and so on.
All objects in a dream reflect their own symbolic meaning.
Some people say that dreaming of a fox means that someone around you is as cunning as a fox, but for people who like foxes, dreaming of it brings joy. In fact, the dream is conveying that your recent mental state is good.
Different objects can have different meanings for different people.
Yin Zhu remembers being terrified in her dream, being chased in a city—in fact, being chased is Yin Zhu's most common dream, nine out of ten times she dreams of being chased, to the point that she feels nothing when she wakes up, and even wants to yawn.
The key point is the fear in the dream, which indicates that the person is under a lot of mental pressure in the world of ghost stories. They are afraid that if they analyze something wrong, they will die here, so they can only keep running.
However, based on current analysis, it is impossible for mere humans to fight against the unspeakable, and humans do not have that much time and space to develop. Before humans can find a way out, perhaps the blue planet will have already been destroyed. In dreams, this is reflected as cities that constantly reveal danger and keep expanding in size.
Yin Zhu subconsciously believes that humans cannot escape unspeakable control.
Considering the similarity between the dream and the City of Sin, Yin Zhu had no doubt that this place would definitely become the source of her dreams for a long time to come.
Most of them are nightmares.
Yin Zhu yawned in front of a perfectly normal mirror that showed no signs of anything strange. Seeing her reflection making the exact same reaction, Yin Zhu seriously suspected that if she stayed with the mirror ghost any longer, she would develop a distorted perception of mirrors.
What? The reflection in the mirror makes the exact same movements as the real person? Really?
Fortunately, everyone is now separated, and everything is back on track.
But speaking of which, she seemed to have grown some gray hair in the mirror. Yin Zhu stared at the mirror for a long time, then reached out and grabbed the gray hair, trying to pull it out.
As for the claim that pulling gray hairs will cause more to grow...
Wouldn't that be even better? Ideally, it should be completely white.
In China, everyone loves white hair; who doesn't love a head of snow-white hair?
Next, Yin Zhu opened the refrigerator, which was completely empty; no food had sprouted yet. It seemed she would really have to wait until 12:00. This meant the retirement home only provided one lunch; for other meals, residents had to go to the community canteen, which seemed almost intentional.
The schedule of activities for senior citizens was also posted on the notice board at the entrance of the cafeteria.
Although Yin Zhu got up very early, for the elderly who don't sleep well, there's always someone who gets up even earlier. A large group of people were chatting around the notice board at this time.
"There will be another sacrificial performance the week after next, right?"
"Yeah, I wonder what they'll be performing this time. Hopefully, not many people will leave..."
"It's all fate."
"I feel like time flies when I get old."
"It's time for group activities again tomorrow, and my hands are itching to get started."
"You, you can't stand not playing cards for a day, can you? Didn't you just play a couple of days ago? Three times a week isn't enough for you, is it?"
"Why is the literature recitation club's activity suspended today? I've been waiting for it for a whole week!"
"Chunlan, come to our music classroom today. Our choir has a group activity, and I'll show you our training results."
When Yin Zhu arrived, she heard the chatter of these old men and women.
Without learning much about the elderly person's activities, Yin Zhu went straight to breakfast and then went to a three-story building near the office.
