Eerie creatures descend upon Earth, rules become humanity's final showdown against the unspeakabl...
The next morning, unexpectedly, Yin Zhu woke up very early.
It wasn't because of the terrifying events of the previous day that she didn't sleep well, nor was it because she had something on her mind or was suffering from acclimatization issues; it was simply that a ghost gently nudged her while she was half asleep.
Although her location doesn't affect Yin Zhu's normal rest, it doesn't mean she'll sleep like a log forever.
If you sleep too soundly in the world of ghost stories, you might actually die.
Yin Zhu was already awake when the hand touched her, but the other person didn't know that. They just gently pushed Yin Zhu twice. The cold hand seemed to indicate the other person's identity; they must be a female ghost roommate.
The ghosts in this dorm aren't bad.
They're much better than those people from Sin City before.
It has both good looks and a good conscience. If this place weren't truly a horrible place, Yin Zhu would even think it would be a suitable place to retire.
Just looking at your roommates can prolong your life.
After the other person left, Yin Zhu opened her eyes and found that it was already past seven in the morning.
These ghost servants woke up quite early. They're just doing chores for others, why do they have to get up so early? Although she was puzzled, Yin Zhu still slowly got up and prepared to see what her work was for the day.
Her schedule also included today's tasks, but unlike yesterday's simple pruning of flowers, today was packed with work: cleaning a certain area in the morning, helping wash dishes in the kitchen in the afternoon, and delivering something to a palace steward in another location before 6 PM.
All things considered, going to four places a day is quite a workload, no wonder my roommates all get up so early.
If they don't finish their work, they'll probably be the ones getting their heads crushed tonight.
There were no lights in the dormitory, and no sunlight came out of the window. The whole room was illuminated by a single bright candlestick. Although it was called a candlestick, the light was as bright as a light bulb. There was a note next to it that read: "Newcomer, remember to extinguish the candle before you leave the dormitory."
Yes, they turned off the lights when they left, which shows they are very fire-conscious.
After tidying up briefly, Yin Zhu began her work for the day. Following the road signs, she soon arrived near a large house, which was the place mentioned on her work sheet.
This place doesn't look dirty, but the worksheet asks me to clean it. Is it just deliberately trying to cause trouble?
Yin Zhu squinted and touched the floor. It was so clean that there wasn't even a speck of dust. It would have been better to have a dirty house. Although it would have been more tiring, at least she would have known how much work she had done. Now that the house was so clean, Yin Zhu wasn't even sure if she had done any work at all.
However, out of a sense of professionalism, Yin Zhu still found a rag and wiped all the places in the room that she could reach, and then swept the floor.
By the time we finished cleaning up, it was almost 11 o'clock.
Yin Zhu looked at the room, which was not much different from when she came and when she left, then looked at her thin arms and legs, patted the dust off her clothes, and went straight to the cafeteria for a meal.
After finishing her meal, Yin Zhu went straight to the kitchen.
The kitchen was behind the dining room, with a small wooden door. Yin Zhu carefully knocked on the door, then immediately ran a short distance away to avoid anything reaching out from inside and grabbing her.
After a while, the door creaked open, revealing a multi-armed monster wearing a chef's hat.
Seriously... isn't this hat supposed to prevent hair from falling into the food?
Yin Zhu stared at the monster's smooth head and fell silent. She felt that the hat had a superfluous beauty, as if its existence was only to prove to others that it was a chef.
The monster put one hand to its mouth and whispered, "Are you here to wash the dishes today?"
Yin Zhu nodded without answering.
Unsure whether the chef was a superior, Yin Zhu simply kept quiet. After all, it was just a job, and there was no need to chat with the chef.
The chef with multiple hands made way for Yin Zhu to enter the kitchen, allowing her to see the scene inside at a glance. There were many miscellaneous ingredients thrown on the floor, a large pile of severed hands and limbs, and a small amount of vegetable scraps and other things.
"After you finish washing the dishes, remember to clean the floor. There are other things I need you to do when I get back."
After saying this, the chef took off his hat, picked up a vegetable basket, and left the kitchen, leaving Yin Zhu alone there, seemingly going to buy supplies.
Yin Zhu rolled up her sleeves and began washing the dishes in the basin. After washing them, she wiped them clean with a cloth and then neatly arranged them. After finishing this part of the work, Yin Zhu wiped the sweat from her forehead and realized that it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.
The delivery work needed to be completed before 6 p.m., but the skilled chef told him to finish cleaning up and wait for him there.
When will he be back?
Out of the corner of her eye, Yin Zhu couldn't help but see the "ingredients" thrown on the ground. The thought of eating this kind of thing every time... she couldn't bear to think about it!
Once I think about it more carefully, I probably won't be able to eat anymore.
Yin Zhu rubbed her temples, cursing the person who arranged this work schedule in her mind. What kind of despicable person would let a ghost servant work in the kitchen?
Especially in such a dirty kitchen.
Even if she weren't a germaphobe, Yin Zhu would have wanted to clean the kitchen thoroughly. If she were, she would probably have washed all the food on the floor and put it away neatly.
It must be said that Yin Zhu predicted the situation of the other chosen ones.
Later, another chosen one was also captured by Shuten-dōji's subordinates by mistake and made into a demon servant. However, because he was a germaphobe and could not stand dirt and mess, he suppressed his disgust and cleaned the entire kitchen until it was sparkling clean.
