Chapter 352 Framed

Although Oslo is dilapidated and abandoned, as a once prosperous royal capital, many of its buildings were meticulously constructed at the time. Even after the vicissitudes of time and the ravages of war, many remaining buildings still exist and can barely provide shelter. Gina and Harrens have a small house in the eastern part of the city that is still habitable.

The two-story stone house clearly showed signs of fire damage, with deep cracks in the walls and the pattern on the eaves was very blurry; Qin Mo could only barely make out the shape of a thornbird.

The gate was made of pine wood, and the rough materials were pieced together to create a simple and beautiful pattern. It has to be said that the elves' love of beauty is everywhere.

"Please have a seat, sir. We're out of wine..."

Gina first put the heavy Halence down, then poured Qin Mo a glass of water. She felt very embarrassed because Qin Mo had saved both of them, but there was nothing in the house that she could offer to entertain guests.

"Oh! I don't usually drink!" Qin Mo waved her hand to Gina, indicating that she didn't need to be so polite.

He casually glanced around Gina and Harrens's stone house and found it to be very tidy. Several pieces of furniture were clearly new items from recent years, completely different from the centuries-old family furniture often found in Western Zhou homes.

Remembering Gina's words about humans being "locusts," Qin Mo understood that it meant there was nothing of value left to take; otherwise, Oslo might not be so peaceful.

"Did you make this?" Qin Mo asked, stroking a beechwood chair.

“It was my brother who did it. He was an excellent sculptor. The old patriarch said he had the talent to become a magic array sculptor, but unfortunately, we lost our lineage because of me…we became free elves again…”

As Gina spoke, she lowered her head again. At her age, this should be the happiest time of her life, but the cruel life has put too much pressure on this little girl. She has even forgotten when she last laughed heartily.

“Gina, I have no talent for magic circle carving. As for becoming a free elf, I have never regretted it, and you should not regret it either. We elves would rather die than endure humiliation!”

"Yes!" Gina nodded emphatically.

"Gina, I hunted a grizzly bear the day before yesterday. The raw meat was awful. Could you take it and cook it for me? I'll treat you to dinner!" Qin Mo pulled a large piece of bear meat from her luggage, grabbed a handful of pepper, and asked Gina to cook.

“My lord…we can no longer eat your food…we…” Gina twisted her fingers, her face filled with shame.

"I have some things I need to ask around about, and I... I need your help! Consider this my reward!"

After much persuasion from Qin Mo, Gina finally went to cook, while Harrens eagerly said, "If there's anything you need to inquire about, sir, we will tell you the truth if we know it, and if we don't know, we can also help you inquire about others."

"Harrens, how long have you been in Oslo?"

“Sir, I left my tribe and came to Oslo five years ago.”

Qin Mo shook her head. Her adoptive father, Qin Lan, must have come to Oslo six years ago. Then the powerful figures of the Temple sensed his demise. By the time Harrens arrived, Qin Lan had already died in battle.

"Are there any long-time residents or elves in the city? I need to know about some things that happened six years ago."

Upon hearing Qin Mo's words, Harrens immediately replied, "Yes, Sister Brena from the street ahead has been here for over twenty years, and Uncle Cabel is said to have lived in this city for nearly a hundred years. If you have any questions, they can certainly give you detailed answers."

As he spoke, Harrens picked up a wooden stick that Gina had left him, propped himself up, and prepared to go out to find someone.

Qin Mo quickly stopped him, "I'll go myself!"

"Sir, given your status, it would be better to have Sister Brena come over, otherwise she might feel uneasy!" Gina, hearing the commotion, quickly came out and, understanding Qin Mo's meaning, offered to invite Brena.

Qin Mo had no choice but to ask Gina to go out and invite the person over, but he instructed her to be polite, invite them over for a meal first, and then inquire about the news.

"My lord, I see the virtue of humility that we elves possess in you!" the burly Harens said sincerely to Qin Mo.

Qin Mo smiled without speaking. In this world, strength can determine people's status, and the strong can directly disregard the personal wishes of the weak. However, he still prefers to treat people with sincerity and kindness as much as possible.

Brena lived on the street in front of Gina. Their families were the only two elven families in the area, as these were the only two barely habitable houses nearby.

Qin Mo quickly sensed three people walking towards her. One of them was Gina, and one of the other two had a familiar aura to her.

"My lord... Sister Helena has arrived... Also... I've invited a doctor to treat my brother's injuries... May I come in?" Gina came in to report after arriving at the door, waiting for Qin Mo's permission.

"Gina, this is your home... I'm just a guest..." Qin Mo was very helpless. He didn't want Gina to be too respectful to him. He was afraid that if he softened his heart, he would take on unnecessary responsibilities. He already had enough trouble.

Soon, two elves entered. Helena, the one in front, was a middle-aged female elf. She had obviously already heard some of Gina's information about her situation. As soon as she entered, she immediately faced Qin Mo and showed no disrespect because he was not a pure-blooded elf.
