In rural areas, most banquets are held in the courtyards or homes of neighboring families.

Xu Cuifen pulled Aunt Pang to the neighbor's table early in the morning and sat down, questioning her:

The plump auntie led her to the door of another house, first pointing to a tall man and introducing him:

"They're just burdened with heavy responsibilities and worries. Once they get married, they'll be fine after a while." You don't even look at your own daughter, yet you're still being picky.

The plump aunt rolled her eyes at her, and amidst her constant urging to move on to the next person, led her around for a while, then pointed to the plump man and said:

"How about this one? Judging by his figure, his family isn't poor. He's a good match for Jiaojiao, isn't he?"

Xu Cuifen made a delicate pinky finger gesture and said with disdain again:

"This person sticks his fingers out like that and speaks in a soft voice; if you didn't know better, you'd think he came from the palace."

The plump aunt was furious and pointed at a burly man with a thick beard:

"What about this one? He's rich, tall and strong, and in good health."

Xu Cuifen recognized the man and waved her hand in alarm, refusing his advances.

“Oh, this is even worse. I know this guy. He was set up with someone from my family. I heard they were almost getting married, but he got drunk and beat the girl so badly she ended up in the hospital.”

The plump aunt pointed to the last tall, white man in the crowd, without any hope, and said:

"He's the only one left. No, I'm out of options."

Xu Cuifen stared at the man for a while. His appearance was acceptable, he wasn't short, and there seemed to be no other problems. She clapped her hands and said:

"Okay, he's the one. I'll meet him when I have time."

Aunt Pang recalled the man's parents' insistence on finding a woman from a wealthy family, their complete disregard for everything else.

A smile returned to her face, and she happily returned to her seat with her.

"This is definitely going to work."
