Chapter 121 Traveling Through Time Again
Mei Yang rubbed his eyes in disbelief and pinched his thigh. He simply couldn't believe it and even considered the possibility that the Elf King was deliberately teasing him - any possibility was more traceable than him traveling through time again.
If he didn't know that every elf was born from nature and it was impossible for them to have the same father and mother as animals, Mei Yang would have suspected that the man in front of him was actually the Elf King's biological brother.
After all, apart from being a little less aged, he is almost identical to the Elf King Melida.
Mei Yang was still sitting in a daze on the vine chair. Seeing his dazed look, the Elf King subconsciously frowned and asked again: "Cub, what's your name?"
"My name is Mei Yang." Coming to his senses, Mei Yang's fear faded. He stepped down from the vine chair, his legs still trembling as he stumbled towards the Elf King. He tried to hug his legs—missing them, so he resorted to hugging the albino moose's long legs to save his dignity. He tilted his head back, blinked, and tried to put on his sweetest smile. "Will you adopt me? I'm a very good boy!"
God knows what era it is now, maybe it's a prequel to The Flower Fairy or something like that. I wonder if there are any big villains who can use black magic. Mei Yang has to find a stable job for himself.
He and the Elf King had been getting along quite well in the past three days, and now by chance they met again. It was God's will that the Elf King would continue to be his parent!
Mei Yang put on his cutest look and tried to sell himself.
Before the Elf King could say anything, the moose whose front legs were held by Mei Yang made a few ugh sounds, lowered its head, and scratched Mei Yang's back with its huge antlers, greeting the cub in a friendly manner.
"Where are your family?" asked the Elf King.
It was very unusual for a human cub to appear in the Dark Forest at this time of year, especially since he happened to appear at the foot of the mother tree.
Thinking of this, the Elf King once again looked at the black-haired cub in front of him to make sure that he was really a human cub, and not an orc in human form.
"I have no family, I don't know why I'm here... No one wants me." Mei Yang replied.
He was indeed an orphan, but three days ago, he was adopted by the Elf King of a later era.
So strictly speaking, he and the Elf King do have a family relationship.
Mei Yang blinked desperately, sending out cute rays.
Elves are the friendliest and most loving race. They are naturally fond of their young, even those from a recently fallen human clan.
The Elf King thought for a moment and said, "You can live among my people."
He did not directly say that he wanted to adopt Mei Yang, but agreed that Mei Yang would return to the tribe with him.
As the Elf King, Melida had too much work to do during this special period. He did not think he had the time to raise a cub himself, even though the cub looked not far from adulthood.
Mei Yang didn't understand the twists and turns in his words. He just thought that the Elf King accepted to be raised by him again, and nodded happily.
"Yeah!" Mei Yang stretched out his arms, which was a gesture for his parents to hug him.
The Elf King rarely met a kid who was so familiar with him, and for a moment, he was stunned.
The moose was very human-like. Knowing that the Elf King had accepted the black-haired cub into the tribe, it took the lead of the Elf King, grabbed the black-haired cub's collar, and threw him onto its back.
"Ah——" Mei Yang exclaimed.
"Sit down." The Elf King pulled Mei Yang to sit in front of him.
This was the second time that Mei Yang was held in the arms of the Elf King, except for the previous time when he was carried up and down the tree house.
The Elf King, who was a little younger in temperament, was a little more stern but less unapproachable than when Mei Yang first met him.
The moose turned and headed towards the opposite boundary from the mother tree.
Along the way, Mei Yang chatted with the Elf King in a casual manner, keeping a balance so as not to be annoying, and roughly pieced together the current historical context from the Elf King's mouth.
Now, about two or three hundred years have passed since Mei Yang's first time traveling through time. The world has just experienced a protracted war. The victorious human empire has occupied most of the continent. The Elf King and all the Elf Gods have hidden in the dark forest, trying to return to their original home, which is the Elf Mother Tree that Mei Yang had just picked up.
Now, it is the third day since the elves returned to the Dark Forest. The main force is still camping on the outskirts, while the Elf King rides his mount alone to visit the Elf Mother Tree.
These scattered pieces of information, combined with what Mei Yang had learned from his friends in the previous three days, roughly outlined the map of this alien world for Mei Yang - it was not some little flower fairy, but a Western fantasy world with a grand worldview and historical trajectory.
In just a few words, he described the magnificent scenery of this world and the various dangerous yet beautiful races. Mei Yang couldn't help but sigh that it was a good thing that he traveled to the foot of the mother tree and was accepted by the elves. Otherwise, if he had landed in the territory of another race, his life would probably not be so easy.
The forest a hundred years ago was truly stunning. This was Mei Yang's first time witnessing the scenery after dusk: the misty forest resembled a deep blue oil painting, its brightness not too low, thanks to the cool moonlight overhead, and the glowing white of moose and the otherworldly Elf King on the ground. Fireflies flitted slowly through the low bushes, and occasionally a few herbivores darted past on the path.
Mei Yang was extremely energetic. He was so fascinated by the interesting wonders of the forest that he shook his head left and right, and his eyes did not want to miss any tiny movement.
The Elf King smiled and said, "Do you like nature?"
Few humans are so close to nature; they always love farming more than the most primitive land.
If it weren't for the difference in appearance, the black-haired cub in front of him would look more like an elf cub.
"Yeah! Natural things are always the most beautiful. I like breathing the oxygen and air in the forest." Mei Yang replied.
He stretched out his hand, held a firefly, trapped it in his palm, put his face close to it, and looked hard at the bright little thing through his slightly open fingers with one eye.
After seeing enough, he let it go, then plucked up the courage to study the moose's huge horns covered with fine hair.
Seeing that he was studying seriously, the Elf King thought for a moment and said, "Moose shed their horns every year. It will soon be Rumi's turn to shed his horns. If you perform well, you may be able to win his horns this year."
"Wow!" Mei Yang exclaimed in surprise, "What does it mean to perform well?"
"Get first place in the exam, and I'll reward you."
"I still can't escape the need to study..."
"Um?"
"I agree."
That night, the Elf King brought back a human cub.
He has soft black hair, bright eyes that are as pure black as his hair, soft and round facial features, and he loves to laugh, and his smile is very sweet.
It's a very cute cub.
During this period, there were no cubs in the tribe, and everyone was very reluctant to give birth to Mei Yang.
He easily won everyone's favor. It was not until the moon was at its highest point and the crows were cawing that he was surrounded by the elves and went to sleep on the big bunk in the tent.
Mei Yang was placed on the animal skin closest to the Elf King. Since he was already here, he might as well make the best of it. Being next to the Elf King, Mei Yang felt full of security. He did not think about traveling through time again, and fell into a deep sleep amid the shallow breathing sounds around him.
…
The next morning, when Mei Yang woke up, he was the only one left in the tent.
He rubbed his eyes, walked out, and found that the elves of this period were even more diligent than hundreds of years later. They got up early and consciously devoted themselves to their respective work.
"Are you awake?" Mei Yang is usually dazed when he wakes up early. He was staring blankly at the busy production activities of the elves around him when a hand suddenly reached out and pinched the flesh on his cheek.
"Hmm." Mei Yang stared blankly at the familiar green-haired female elf.
"What are you looking at, little one? My name is Tansy, you can call me Sister Tansy."
"Sister Tansy."
Mei Yang wanted to laugh. Aunt Tansy didn't look much older than him when she was a girl, but she already looked mature beyond her years.
Her enthusiastic look is exactly the same as her middle-aged appearance.
"Sister Tanxi, what are you doing?" Mei Yang asked.
He saw several elves coming over and starting to dismantle the tent poles and nails.
Is this moving?
Tansy replied, "We are moving to live in the trees and are packing our bags now - some lazy boy stayed in bed this morning, so we had to wait until he got up before making the bed."
Mei Yang blushed quietly.
Without waiting for his explanation, Tansi smiled and took him to a stream to wash.
The cool river water was very refreshing. Mei Yang washed his face and felt refreshed.
Tansy stuffed some fruit into his mouth and asked him to eat it for breakfast.
Mei Yang finished eating and everyone had just finished cleaning up. The Elf King, who had been missing for the whole morning, returned to the tribe and led everyone on the road to the Elf Mother Tree.
Mei Yang skipped and jumped all the way. Tan Xi was taking care of him intentionally, following him all the time and introducing every plant he saw to Mei Yang like a living encyclopedia.
It didn't take long to reach the foot of the mother tree.
Mei Yang squinted his eyes and took a look. He didn't know if it was an illusion caused by the midday sun, but he always felt that the golden light in the mother tree was much more vigorous than a hundred years later.
Everyone stopped here, waiting for the Elf King's order.
It was at this moment that Mei Yang finally understood why the Elf King had asked his people to live on the edge of the forest instead of climbing trees in the past few days.
The Elf King sat on the moose, raised his head, and announced: "Mei Yang, this child I picked up last night, he is the child favored by the mother tree."
"It was God's will for him to live with us."
"Now, he will teach us how to ride on the vines and reach the mother tree."
Hundreds of eyes turned to Mei Yang in unison. The positive emotions of joy and admiration made Mei Yang feel terrified.
Even led by Tan Xi, the crowd erupted in enthusiastic applause, and everyone looked at Mei Yang expectantly.
Mei Yang's toes almost dug through his cloth shoes.
Oh, no, the Elf Mother Tree is your hometown. How come you don’t know how to use the elevator in your hometown?
And how am I supposed to demonstrate this? If I don't tie the knot, I might fall to my death. If I do, I might be embarrassed. How on earth am I supposed to teach this?
Mei Yang said yes, but his heart was buzzing.

The author has something to say:
This eventful year-end is driving me crazy. My grandma's heart is failing again. My dad took her to the hospital for a checkup. I'm going to be there later to keep watch. The tests aren't complete yet. I need another blood draw tomorrow morning. I'll post the results on Weibo once they're in. The age and time can be verified for authenticity. I'm not a liar, QAQ. If I need personal leave or sick leave, I'll definitely provide proof. I don't want to worry everyone, and I don't want to undermine trust.
I will still update daily this week. If you are too busy, please take a leave.
