Medical doctor Su Wan transmigrated to the Great Jin Dynasty. She initially thought she was in for a typical palace maid/harem drama, but soon she was married off as a bride to bring good luck by h...
As instructed, the soldiers ran to the other side of the street and shouted at Chu Kai. Chu Kai was indeed attracted by the shouts and chased after the soldiers. Seeing an opportunity, the soldier holding the bamboo tube immediately rose from behind the earthen wall and rushed towards Chu Kai.
Chu Kai was particularly sensitive to pepper spray, and on the city wall, he specifically targeted those carrying spray canisters first. Although he had lost his mind, his instincts remained. As soon as the soldier ran behind him, Chu Kai turned around and thrust his halberd through him, causing the spray canister to fall to the ground.
The Jin soldiers all knew that chili water was effective against the ghost army, and several men risked their lives to rush up to pick it up, but they were all hit by halberds, and some died or were wounded.
From a distance, Wei Jingzhuo saw another arrow being shot from Zhang Gong. Chu Kai shook off the blood from his halberd and roared as he continued to chase after Wei Jingzhuo.
Meng Ruliu said, "What should we do? If we bring the spray cannon close to Chu Kai, it seems that Chu Kai can sense it."
Su Wan was also troubled. The spray nozzles needed to be close enough to work, but the ordinary soldiers couldn't even get close before Chu Kai sensed them.
On a sudden inspiration, she put her finger to her lips and whistled, and snowflakes rushed out from a small alley. She mounted her horse and said to Meng Ruliu, "I'll go give the spray cannon to Ajin; he can dodge Chu Kai's halberd."
She rode her horse to the bamboo tube, bent down to pick it up, spurred her horse away from the street, turned into a side road, and ran towards Wei Jingzhuo.
Chu Kai was only separated from her by a row of houses. Hearing the sound of horses' hooves and the man on horseback carrying the sprayer he hated, he immediately abandoned Wei Jingzhuo and chased after Su Wan.
Su Wan, unable to see from behind the house, was galloping away on her horse when Wei Jingzhuo exclaimed from the other side of the house, "A-Wan, he's chasing after you!"
With a loud crash, half of the house collapsed, bricks and tiles raining down. Chu Kai's massive body emerged from the dust and smoke, wielding his halberd and smashing the brick wall blocking his path to pieces before sweeping it towards her.
Su Wan's hair stood on end, and she shouted, "Snowflake, lie down!"
Sensing danger, Snowflake bent its legs and leaped into the air. The halberd swept past Snowflake's hooves with a fierce whoosh, striking the collapsed wall and sending shards of stone flying.
Su Wan landed on her horse, her heart pounding wildly.
Fortunately, Snowflake couldn't understand her words. Horses aren't people, so how would they know to lie down?
Wei Jingzhuo leaped onto the roof of the collapsed house and shouted to her, "Awan, spray nozzle!"
Su Wan took a deep breath, spurred her horse to Wei Jingzhuo's feet, tossed the bamboo tube into the air, and shouted, "A-Jin, I'm off!"
She had just spurred her horse away when Chu Kai caught up, sweeping his halberd across the room, causing the remaining half of the house to collapse.
Before the roof collapsed, Wei Jingzhuo leaped with all his might, flipped in the air, and as he passed over Chu Kai's head, he pushed the spray can, spraying half a can of pepper spray, drenching Chu Kai from head to toe, with some even running into his armor.
Chu Kai let out a painful roar and swung his halberd blindly like a madman. Wei Jingzhuo landed on the ground, dodging the halberd and retreating.
Su Wan stopped the snowflakes at a distance, patted the horse's head, and said, "Thank you."
Wei Jingzhuo came to her side and said, "Look at Chu Kai."
Chu Kai's face and head were covered in red and black blood as he wildly swung his halberd, sweeping away houses within a radius of several feet. Not only were his eyes and nose bleeding, but black blood was also spurting from the gaps in his armor, staining the ground in spots, as if his black armor was filled with blood.
Meng Ruliu also came up to her and said, "He's finished."
Chu Kai swung the halberd again, but finally lost his grip, and the halberd flew out of his hand and embedded itself in a wall.
He knelt on the ground, roaring, and reached out to tear at his black armor. Even the sturdy black armor was ripped apart by his hands, revealing his body underneath.
That was no longer a body, but a pile of rotten flesh flowing with black blood.
Chu Kai tore off half of his black armor, his head drooping in front of his chest, and remained motionless.
The Jin soldiers around were initially silent, then suddenly burst into a fierce cheer.
Overjoyed, Meng Ruliu pulled Su Wan off her horse and shouted, "The Ghost Army is all dead! We've won!"
Wei Jingzhuo took a breath and said to Su Wan, "I'll go take a look ahead."
Su Wan quickly grabbed his sleeve: "Ah Jin, don't go. What if he's not really dead? That's how it always goes on TV. He comes back to life as soon as you go up there. Don't go. Just let him stay there. We can approach him after the battle is over."
Wei Jingzhuo and Meng Ruliu asked in unison, "What is television?"
"Ah, I'll explain later," Su Wan said excitedly. "Next, let's defeat the Southern Chu army."
