Chapter 271 She Comes from the Future

Su Wan and Jiang Yan walked down the corridor leading to the consultation room. Jiang Yan led the way and spoke to her politely.

"I deeply regret the damage caused to the former head of the family." Jiang Yan bowed slightly. "It's incredible that the Goddess was able to resolve this problem."

Su Wan had not yet recovered from the shock of meeting Jiang Yan for the first time, and simply nodded.

Jiang Yan smiled slightly, turned around and continued walking forward.

“Similar things have happened before in history, but they were all resolved quickly. This time it’s more serious; the sacred site has been almost destroyed. We can’t rebuild it with the current manpower; we may need to ask the Southern Chu Kingdom for help from craftsmen.”

"You're also called Jiang Yan?" Su Wan couldn't help but ask. "What's your relationship with the former head of the family? Or do you both share the name Jiang Yan?"

Just like those candidate goddesses all have the name Jiang Shiyi, perhaps the heads of families of divine healers are all named Jiang Yan?

Jiang Yan stopped in front of the consultation room door, turned around and smiled, "No, I am him."

Su Wan couldn't believe it. How could this be? Jiang Yan had clearly turned into a monster and was killed by the defensive gun. Where did this Jiang Yan come from?

But judging from Jiang Yan's expression, he didn't seem to be lying at all.

Jiang Yan said, "I know the goddess must be full of doubts, but the Creator can answer these questions. She is waiting for you. Please use the Resurrection Pendant to open the door."

Only then did Su Wan notice that the door to the consultation room had been repaired sometime during the day. The bloodstains and the flickering red light that had once filled the room had all vanished. If it weren't for the ruins of the sacred site and the dowry scattered at the entrance reminding her of what had happened, she would have almost thought it was a dream.

Jiang Yan just mentioned the Creator, who must be the instigator of everything: a family of divine healers, stimulants, beam guns...

She took off the resurrection pendant and placed it on the mechanism. The doors of the consultation room slowly opened to both sides, revealing a pale blue space inside. A pure white light shone between the two open doors, unfolding slowly in a fan shape.

While they were outwitting and outmaneuvering the monster Jiang Yan in the forge, the place had already been cleared away.

Just as they were about to enter, Jiang Yan said, "Goddess, before you speak with the Creator, please hand over your defensive gun to me for safekeeping."

Su Wan did not resist and handed the defensive gun to Jiang Yan. Since the goal was to treat Wei Jingzhuo, they had to follow the proper procedures.

The examination room was also completely renovated; the previous eerie and terrifying scene was gone, and Jiang Wenpei was nowhere to be seen. Just as she was about to turn towards the operating room, Jiang Yan pointed to the wall facing the door and said, "Goddess, please come this way; the Creator wants to see you first."

Su Wan said, "But my husband is waiting for treatment."

Although she was very curious about this mysterious creator, she wanted to cure Wei Jingzhuo first before meeting the creator.

Jiang Yan said, "Goddess, the one who can heal your husband is the Creator himself."

The implication is that without the presence of a Creator, Wei Jingzhuo would obviously not be able to receive treatment.

Su Wan had no choice but to walk to the location Jiang Yan had indicated, where she found a panel that was slanted and recessed. When she had come here before, the walls were covered in blood and the lighting was dim, so she hadn't noticed it at all.

There is a thumb-sized oval indentation on the panel, which looks a lot like a fingerprint scanner.

She glanced back at Jiang Yan, who smiled and gestured, "Please put your thumb in the indentation."

She pressed her thumb into the indentation, and suddenly felt a sharp pain in her thumb pad, like being bitten by a mosquito. She gasped and quickly lifted her thumb, only to see a thin needle slowly retracting into the indentation, leaving a puncture mark on her thumb pad with a bead of blood.

This device even comes with its own blood collection needle.

“Goddess, there is no need to be afraid. This is a means of verifying your identity,” Jiang Yan raised his hand and gestured for you to proceed. “Only a true goddess can open the door. Please proceed on your own from here on out.”

A door opened beside Su Wan, revealing a straight passageway and a metal door at its end. The ceiling and walls were pure white, accented with blue lines. The metal door at the end was blue; the overall cool color scheme brought a sense of coolness.

Su Wan walked into the passageway, and the door closed silently behind her.

She was both nervous and curious, wondering who the creator was and how they would treat her. When she reached the end of the passage, the metal door rose up, revealing a spacious interior.

Upon seeing the scene behind the door, she couldn't help but gasp.

Five meters away from her stood a massive glass wall, its height and width filling the entire room. There was a chair on her side. Behind the glass wall stood a young girl, her hands behind her back, watching her. The girl was about her age, pretty, with short, neat black hair, and wearing a blue bodysuit.

On the wall next to the girl was a row of control panels she didn't recognize. Opposite the control panels was a rectangular metal box, somewhat like a coffin.

"You've arrived, Su Wan," the girl said with a smile. "I've been waiting for you."

Su Wan walked slowly forward in great surprise, reached out and touched the glass wall. It was smooth and cold, and felt very heavy.

She had already witnessed the effects of performance-enhancing drugs and beam guns, and understood seven or eight tenths of the truth: the Creator was not a god, but must have come from the future. But actually meeting someone who didn't belong to this era still left her speechless with shock.

"I know you have many questions to ask, so let me introduce myself first. My name is Zhang Ying, a medical graduate student from 2324. My initial purpose in coming to this era was to complete my thesis... You are standing in my laboratory, so you can just call me by my name."
