0004 First Encounter (3)
A woman's voice broke Lingling's thoughts.
"Hey? You're awake?"
A young woman in a white lab coat walked in carrying a tray filled with silver syringes. She glanced down at the ginger tea in He Lingling's hand and couldn't help but scoff, "It'll get cold if you don't drink it soon."
Lingling snapped out of her daze and hurriedly nodded, "Oh, oh!" Then she picked up the cup in her hand and took a sip.
Although ginger slices are spicy, they are not unbearable when combined with sweet but not cloying brown sugar.
The warm liquid flowed down my mouth and into every part of my body, a warm feeling spreading through my body.
Jiang Man looked at the girl sitting on the bed, lost in thought, while her hands continued to give the boy in the next bed acupuncture. She smiled knowingly and asked, "A first-year high school student?"
Lingling nodded obediently.
Seeing her somewhat puzzled look, Jiang Man slightly raised an eyebrow and gestured with her eyes to indicate that there was a name tag on her chest. Her class and name were written on it in green ink.
So he knew my name because...
"Look to your left." Jiang Man interrupted her reverie again, but this time she didn't look at her. Instead, she was focused on applying medical tape to the boy's hand.
Lingling looked to her left and saw a pink square object with a black windbreaker underneath it.
Her face turned red.
The pink ones are sanitary napkins.
"The restroom is just to the right after you go out, hurry up and go." Jiang Man got up and adjusted the IV drip above her head. She turned around and saw He Lingling running away in a panic, and couldn't help but chuckle.
The girl was probably inexperienced and had just started her period; a boy brought her here after she fainted.
The boy was very handsome, with a cool demeanor—the kind of guy girls would like. But his hurried manner made her think something terrible had happened. After putting the girl on the bed, the boy stared blankly at the bloodstains on his hands. She was also momentarily stunned, but quickly understood what had happened.
Low blood sugar combined with strenuous exercise during menstruation is actually not a big deal.
She subtly gestured to the boy, and saw a blush creep up his fair face.
The boy coughed lightly, looking a little awkward. She, however, laughed even more freely, unable to resist teasing the young, inexperienced couple.
That's right, she was just the school doctor, and not much older than them, not some balding, pedantic school leader who didn't care about early romances or breaking the rules. Having lived through that youthful period herself, she knew best what was precious. It was simply the undisguised emotion in the boy's eyes and the youthful blush on his face.
Jiang Man had worked as a medical support officer in Xinjiang during her university years, which left her with menstrual cramps. Therefore, she always kept ginger and brown sugar in her cupboard for menstrual use. She took them out and gestured to the boys that they could use the kettle on the table to boil some for the girls, as it could help relieve menstrual cramps.
She gave a brief explanation of how to cook it, and the boy listened very attentively. Only then did she notice that there was a wound on his side, running up to his calf, that looked quite deep and was bleeding profusely.
Hey, this brat, he's so busy with his romance that he doesn't even know what pain is!
She helped him sit down, disinfected and bandaged his wound. Fortunately, it wasn't serious enough to require stitches. But it certainly didn't look like he hadn't felt any pain after running all that way.
Then another boy who had fainted was brought in.
Every year during the sports meet, the school clinic becomes the second busiest place besides the sports field. Jiang Man couldn't help but complain inwardly about the students' increasingly poor physical fitness.
So she got busy and couldn't pay attention to the strikingly beautiful young couple who had just arrived.
By the time they finished, both of them had already left.
He Lingling walked towards the classroom wrapped in her black windbreaker. She was nearly 1.7 meters tall, but the windbreaker, which clearly belonged to a boy, still completely covered her buttocks and upper thighs, tightly concealing the embarrassing stains. It was clear that the owner of the jacket was quite tall.
The clothes smelled of a clean and refreshing laundry detergent, but it wasn't the kind commonly used by mothers. It was a very special fragrance that gently wafted into He Lingling's nose, making her feel a little dazed.
The boy's face reappeared in my mind.
This shirt most likely belongs to him, but in her panic, she forgot to ask his name and class, and she forgot to say thank you. The school is so big, how is she supposed to find him? What will she do with the shirt if she can't find him?
So annoying! She thought of his cold face and the annoyance in his eyes. He seemed unapproachable, and quite fierce.
A somewhat shrill cry startled her; she had been lost in thought and had ended up in the classroom. Du Fenfang hugged her tightly, asking in a tearful voice, "Are you alright?!"
The sports meet was over, and most people had left; there were hardly any people left on campus. Only a few students remained in the classrooms, cleaning up.
Du Fenfang stayed here entirely to wait for He Lingling.
She witnessed He Lingling faint on the track and shouted "Something's wrong!" before rushing towards her like an arrow. However, Lingling was picked up by an even faster figure. She had no choice but to go back to the classroom to wait for her, and thankfully, she finally found her.
"Lingling, if anything happens to you, I'll do anything for you, even if it means my death!" He Lingling looked at Du Fenfang, who was so ready to sacrifice herself, and felt a surge of warmth in her heart. At first, she was worried that Fenfang would blame her for not finishing the race, but her reaction made her feel embarrassed instead.
Lingling slapped her forehead, remembering the important matter: "By the way, Fenfang, did you see the boy who took me to the school clinic?" She carefully recalled his appearance, "He was wearing black clothes, tall and thin, with a headband on his forehead..."
Du Fenfang looked at her incredulously: "Lingling, you don't recognize him?"
He Lingling was completely confused.
“Chen Yixu! When he hugged you, I was stunned, no, the whole school was stunned! Lingling, let me tell you,” Du Fenfang said seriously, taking her hand, “although he saved you, you must not provoke him.”
"He broke the leg of a boy in Class 1 of Grade 11, but walked out of the police station the next day unharmed, and the school didn't even give him a punishment."
P.S.: Don't worry, there should be another chapter later.
I'm dying of laughter, hahaha! The son you thought he was: Cold-blooded and ruthless, he stole my daughter!
The actual son: Despite his foot pain, he ran to take his wife to the hospital after she fainted.
My wife blushes when she's on her period, she's such a little puppy!
