Ni Sitian stared intently at him, afraid that she might miss a single glance.

It wasn't until after 3 a.m. that she could no longer hold on and nodded her head like a chick pecking at rice.

She immediately patted her cheeks to clear her head.

When I looked at Xu Tingchuan again, I saw that Xu Tingchuan's eyelashes trembled slightly, as if he was about to wake up.

She saw his lips move slightly, and quickly leaned over, bringing her ear close to his mouth.

Unexpectedly, he suddenly kissed her cheek.

She was startled and turned to look at him, only to see that he had already opened his eyes. His dark eyes were very clear and cool, showing no signs of injury or just waking up.

"Pei Yang really didn't listen." Xu Tingchuan had just woken up and smelled a familiar fragrance in the air. It was Ni Sitian's scent, so he knew that Pei Yang might have brought Ni Sitian over.

"You're the one who didn't listen," Ni Sitian snapped out of her daze. "Do you know how worried I was, and you didn't tell me anything? Were you planning to keep this from me too?!"

Xu Tingchuan knew she would react this way, so he suddenly attacked her to try and distract her, but it seems he failed.

Ni Sitian glared at him, her eyes slightly reddening.

Xu Tingchuan felt sorry for her and raised his hand to stroke her face, saying softly, "I'm fine, just some scratches. You fainted because the knife was coated with a sleeping potion, not because you lost too much blood."

"You and Li Rui are going head-to-head?" Ni Sitian was terrified at the thought of Li Rui's eyes, which had killed countless people.

Xu Tingchuan nodded. He had set up a trap at the dock tonight, but unfortunately Li Rui didn't join the scheme.

He was unwilling to let Li Rui go so easily, so he found another opportunity to have a close-quarters fight with Li Rui one-on-one.

"Don't worry, he's more seriously injured than me." Seeing how frightened Ni Sitian was, Xu Tingchuan gently stroked her cheek and smiled, "He probably won't be able to get out of bed for at least two months."

"Are you stupid? Why risk your life for someone like that? Your life is precious, but he's just a broken pot. Is it worth it? Aren't you smart? There are many ways to deal with him. Why did you suddenly take action?" Ni Sitian didn't want to know how badly Li Rui was injured; she only saw the blood on Xu Tingchuan's wound.

Xu Tingchuan smiled faintly, listening to Ni Sitian's scolding, feeling the warmth of being cared for and worried.

He knew that his actions this time were impulsive and could not stand scrutiny, but he could not suppress his desire to teach Li Rui a lesson, even if it was just to beat him up.

"What will I do if something happens to you?" Ni Sitian saw that he was still smiling, and tears immediately rolled down her cheeks.

"I'm fine." Xu Tingchuan reached out to wipe away her tears, but Ni Sitian shook off his hand.

Ni Sitian bit her lip and glared at him, "If you're fine, then what would be considered a problem?!"

“Li Rui had several broken ribs and a broken leg; that’s what you call serious,” Xu Tingchuan chuckled.

"You're still so smug!" Ni Sitian puffed up her cheeks and stood up abruptly. "I'm not going to bother with you anymore."

She walked straight toward the door, but before she reached it, she heard Xu Tingchuan groan in pain. She stopped and immediately turned around to look, only to see him covering his wound with his hand.

She panicked and rushed back to the bedside, asking anxiously, "What's wrong? What's wrong?"

As soon as she got closer, Xu Tingchuan grabbed her wrist and pulled her onto the bed.
