Chapter Eight: The Apocalyptic Society and the Outer Gods Alliance

The Apocalypse Society? What is that? As a true-blue transmigrator, isn't it normal for Wu Yu to lack knowledge of the local powers?

But if someone actually says "I don't know," then the conversation will probably be over.

Wu Yu felt it was necessary to try and get some information out of him. In such a dangerous world, it would be very difficult to survive without the necessary intelligence.

Wu Yu replied without changing his expression, "I've heard a little about it."

You just told me a name, isn't that what you call having heard of it? Strictly speaking, this isn't exactly lying.

Hearing Wu Yu's reply, Yi Fang's expression relaxed a bit, and she said with approval, "Since Mr. Wu Yu is a Saint-level expert, he is indeed qualified to come into contact with the Apocalypse Society."

"I'm not a Saint-level expert, but I'm happy to accept your trust," Wu Yu said with a smile, gesturing for Yi Fang to continue.

“Mr. Wu Yu, since you have heard of the Apocalypse Society, you should know the main purpose of their propaganda. They claim that the end of the world is coming, that light will come from chaos, change the world, destroy all things, and restart the era. Only by boarding the ark that crosses the chaos can one sneak into the next era.”

The end of the world? Isn't the only threat to this world the Demon King? Even if the demons conquer the human world, at most it will just mean the extinction of the human race. What does that have to do with the world?

Wu Yu was completely bewildered, unable to understand what the other person was saying at all, as it was all unfamiliar vocabulary. However, he could sense what Yi Fang was trying to express.

Wu Yu asked with a puzzled look, "Words are no proof. Why do you think what this organization says is true?"

"Because this organization is too ancient and too powerful, even the eighth-tier epic powerhouses who stand at the pinnacle of the continent are just ordinary people in that organization. They can even overthrow a country at will and become the most powerful people in the world, but they are willing to hide in the shadows for their entire lives. Do you think the news coming from this organization is not trustworthy?"

Yi Fang said helplessly that when talking about the Apocalypse Society, she felt a deep sense of helplessness.

So they're this powerful? Only now did Wu Yu have a clear understanding of the size of the Apocalypse Society. He had initially thought it was just an ordinary fraudulent group, with at most one Saint-level expert holding down the fort. But if, as Yi Fang said, it was composed of many eighth-tier epic experts, then its significance was completely different.

One is like a powerful armed group, and the other is like the United Nations. Their influence is not on the same level at all. But why would such an organization hide in the shadows? According to Yi Fang, the Apocalypse Society is doing something completely righteous, so there should be no need to hide it.

“This ticket must be quite expensive, but if even you can’t afford it, how many people in this world can afford it? Don’t tell me that a large ship only has a handful of passengers.” Wu Yu didn’t press Yi Fang about the information she was hiding, but instead asked another question that puzzled him.

“I don’t know how much capacity the Ark of Salvation has, but there is only one person in this world who can buy a ticket with money.” Yi Fang’s face was full of bitterness, and she could no longer maintain her professional smile.

"No way, surely someone can afford even the most expensive price." Wu Yu didn't believe it at all.

“There is no fixed price.” Yi Fang shook her head and sighed, “The Apocalypse Society’s price is half the world’s wealth.”

"Gulp." Wu Yu swallowed hard, saying in disbelief, "Half of the world's wealth... I don't think anyone could come up with that kind of money!"

“It doesn’t need to belong entirely to one person; that person only needs the ability to control that wealth to get the ticket,” Yi Fang explained.

"Besides buying it with money, is there any other way to get a ticket?" Wu Yu suddenly realized that he also needed to find a way to get a ticket to escape.

“Currently, I only know of two methods. The first is to use half of the world’s wealth to buy it, and the second is to reach the eighth-tier epic level in personal strength, and then you can join the Apocalypse Society and become their core member. Each core member will have their own ticket,” Yi Fang replied.

"Wait a minute, aren't you a member of the Apocalypse Society?" Wu Yu asked.

“Of course not. The Dragon Merchant Guild currently only controls 10% of the world’s wealth. To reach 50%, there is still a long way to go. Only then will I be qualified to cooperate with the Apocalypse Society,” Yi Fang said with a self-deprecating smile.

After saying all that, Yi Fang finally steered the conversation back on track: "So, Mr. Wu Yu, can you sell me the Dragon Treasure now?"

"We're still so far from fifty percent. Even if we had the dragon's treasure, it probably wouldn't have helped, right?" The moment of truth had finally arrived, but Wu Yu was still trying to dissuade the other party.

“But the Dragon Treasure can make me a fortune, and I’m determined to get that ticket. I’ll use any means necessary to get it. Do you want to back out?” Yi Fang asked with an unfriendly expression.

"Of course not." Wu Yu shook his head and stretched out his hand towards Yi Fang. "It's just that the truth is often so disappointing. This is my storage ring. You'll understand what I mean once you take a look."

Yi Fang was a little puzzled by Wu Yu's behavior, but she still moved her hand to Wu Yu's storage ring with some doubt.

A spiritual force was impacting his soul imprint, but Wu Yu simply gave up resisting and allowed it to peer into the ring's interior.

Yi Fang's expression grew increasingly grim. The container was empty except for a sword. When she came to her senses, she instinctively took a step back, looked at Wu Yu, and questioned, "Are you saying the Dragon Treasure doesn't exist?"
