Chapter 25 Dark Paradise (3) - Mysterious Boy

When the screams stopped, the person, whose face was completely disfigured, slid to the bottom. Then several uniformed staff members appeared, pulled the person out, and carried them away.

The whole process seemed quite common to those staff members.

Judging from the behavior of the NPCs nearby, this incident doesn't seem to have affected them much.

That person was probably a player who hadn't found the correct way to pass the level and tried it rashly, which is why this happened.

"It wasn't that simple after all. Luckily, we let that idiot try it first, or we would be the ones dead now."

Ning Shu and the others suddenly heard someone whispering behind them. They turned around and found several men who had appeared behind them at some point.

They also saw Ning Shu and his group. One of the men, wearing a black shirt, looked at them with a somewhat malicious gaze, probably realizing that they were also players.

"Let's leave first." The man in the black shirt was probably their leader. After he said this, the others followed him and left.

Ning Shu frowned: "It seems that the player just now was tricked by them. They actually used someone else's life to test the way to pass the level."

This is even worse than Zhu Peng and his accomplices being ungrateful!

Cheng Chuan: "It's normal to lose your humanity in the face of life and death."

Wu Yi: "Is this normal? Then why did you save people before? To put it bluntly, some people are still bad at heart."

This is such a high evaluation of Ning Shu and Cheng Chuan!

They looked at Wu Yi, and Ning Shu thought to herself, "Is this idiot really that simple-minded? How long can he live?" Then she thought, "Never mind, I don't even know how long I can live."

Cheng Chuan: "Now that we know what's going on here, let's keep moving forward."

The second attraction is the "Thrilling Giant Swing," which is quite far from the previous attraction, separated by some kind of performance theater.

They didn't go in, but just looked at the entrance and knew it was an animal show.

Ning Shu didn't know how others viewed the giant swing ride; she just felt that the giant swing ride in the amusement park was already very exciting just by being there.

The project name also includes the word "exciting," presumably meaning it's doubly exciting.

Having learned from their experience in the first project, the three of them applied the same method, but this time they found a secluded spot to observe.

They were a bit careless before, standing openly in a conspicuous place, as if afraid others wouldn't know they were players.

After encountering those players, they felt it necessary to be more cautious.

The giant pendulum ride is very large and easy to spot. It was already full of people when it started to swing slowly.

The giant pendulum swings follow a pendulum-like trajectory, causing riders to swing and rotate back and forth at high altitudes.

The unilateral swing amplitude is generally between 110 and 120 degrees, which is normal for a large pendulum. [1]

This thing in front of me is obviously abnormal, because its swing range is a whopping 180 degrees. Is this toxic?

And it even paused for a few seconds when it reached the highest point, as if it wanted to scare people enough, right?

Ning Shu felt her heart tremble at the sight. This must just be an appetizer; it's definitely not that simple. There will probably be more powerful moves to come.

Sure enough, when the hammer swung to its highest point during the second swing, and the entire hammer was upside down, a scream suddenly rang out.

They saw that the safety bar on the upper seat of the pendulum ride had opened, not fully, but partially, and then the people on it fell off.

The screams came from the people who had fallen, and then Ning Shu and the others heard the sound of heavy objects hitting the ground—dull and deathly silent.

Ning Shu carefully counted and found that on the side she could see, the safety bars were open in an irregular pattern, and there were about 15 people in total.

If we calculate it this way, the entire pendulum ride can seat 30 people at a time. There are about 5 empty seats on this side. I wonder what the situation is on the other side.

She thought this was the biggest pitfall of the project, but she was still too conservative.

After some people fell off the giant swing, the safety bar was put back in place, and then the giant swing crashed to the ground from its highest point.

The rounded edge of the equipment is perpendicular to the ground.

Those tourists who were firmly secured by the safety bar didn't have time to escape. The legs of those who fell to the ground were almost completely smashed, and some legs even fell to the ground.

Then, the rim of the giant pendulum began to roll directly on the ground, making it clear that none of the people on it could escape.

The front line means death, the back line means crippling.

This project is too brutal!

"Lift your legs up! Lift them up now!" Ning Shu looked at the person above with anxiety.

After rolling twice on the ground, the pendulum stopped, and for some unknown reason, it returned to its original center axis the next moment.

It returned to its normal position, swung a few more times, and then slowly came to a stop, thus ending this round.

This operation shocked Ning Shu and his companions. None of the three spoke, but stared intently at the giant swing, wondering how many people could safely disembark.

Surprisingly, a few people actually made it safely down. The group of people chatting and laughing were probably NPCs, while a guy in a windbreaker left without saying a word; he was probably a player.

Of the 30 people in the game, only 5 or 6 survived. About 10 died, and the rest were injured or maimed, groaning in their seats.

The mortality and disability rates for this project are far too high.

Cheng Chuan: "Stop that boy."

Ning Shu: "Let's go ask that boy in the black windbreaker first."

Ning Shu and Cheng Chuan spoke at the same time, unexpectedly, the two had the same idea.

They glanced at each other and immediately took off running.

Cheng Chuan: "Wu Yi and Ning Shu go left, I'll go right, we must intercept him!"

Still not understanding the situation, Wu Yi simply responded and ran out with Ning Shu.

The three of them ran from both sides toward the unified exit of the giant swing ride, in order to find the man in the windbreaker.

They ran fast enough, but still couldn't find anyone and had to search the vicinity for quite a while.

Ning Shu noticed that besides them, the men she had encountered earlier also seemed to be looking for someone. Could they also be looking for the man in the windbreaker?

Their appearance attracted the attention of the men. Cheng Chuan frowned upon seeing them and called out to Ning Shu and Wu Yi, "Let's leave here first."

The three of them quickly left. Once they reached a safe place, Ning Shu, panting, said, "That person ran so fast? It shouldn't take us long to get to the exit, right?"

Wu Yi: "That guy is incredibly fast; I can't even outrun him."

Cheng Chuan thought for a moment: "He probably knew someone would be looking for him, so he planned his route in advance to avoid us."

He looked around and realized that the others hadn't followed. "We shouldn't stay here any longer. Let's move on to the next project."
