Episode 12: The Mysterious Warning

After thanking the old scholar, Ayu headed towards the antique market. She had been wandering around the market for several days, carefully observing everyone and not missing a single person who might be Old Chen. Finally, in a corner, she saw an old man examining an antique closely, and his appearance bore a resemblance to the Old Chen described by the old scholar.

Chapter Eleven: Meeting Old Chen

Ayu mustered her courage, walked up to the old man, and asked softly, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Chen?"

The old man raised his head, looked at Ayu, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes, and asked, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"

Ayu looked at the old man, her eyes reddening, and said, "Old Chen, I may be a descendant of the Lin family. I have been investigating the Lin family's affairs back then. I heard that you are my father's confidant. I want to know some of the truth from back then, and where the evidence left by my parents is."

Upon hearing this, Old Chen's expression changed. He looked around warily and said, "How did you find me? This is no joke. Do you know how many people are watching?"

Ayu quickly said, "Old Chen, I know it's dangerous, but I'm not afraid. I must get justice for the Lin family. Please help me."

Old Chen sighed and said, "Well, now that you've come to me, I can't just ignore it. Your parents did leave some evidence back then, hidden in a very secluded place, but I can't tell you now. It's too dangerous. I'll take you to retrieve it after I've made the arrangements and made sure it's safe."

Ayu wanted to ask something more, but Old Chen waved his hand and said, "Go back first, and don't run around these next few days. Wait for my news."

Chapter Twelve: Threatened Again

Helpless, Ayu could only go home and wait for news from Old Chen. But as soon as she arrived home, she found that the door had been pried open and the house was in a mess. She went into the living room and saw another note on the coffee table, which read: "This is the last warning. If you don't stop, neither you nor anyone around you will live."

Ayu's hands trembled. She knew the mysterious organization had gone mad; they were forcing her to give up. But how could she give up? She thought of her parents' injustices and those who had sacrificed themselves to protect her, and her eyes grew even more resolute.

Ayu decided to move some of her important documents and clues to a safe place. She contacted her most trusted friend and asked him to help her rent a hidden warehouse, where she put everything.

At the same time, she kept a close eye on Old Chen's situation, silently praying that everything would go smoothly so that she could obtain the evidence as soon as possible, uncover the truth of what happened back then, and bring those bad people to justice.

Chapter Thirteen: Old Chen Attacked

After waiting for several days, Ayu finally received a call from Old Chen. Old Chen told her to meet him at an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs that evening, saying it was safe there and he would hand over the evidence to her.

Ayu went to the abandoned warehouse at the agreed time, but when she arrived, she found the warehouse dark, quiet, and without any movement. A bad feeling welled up in her heart, and she cautiously walked in.

By the dim moonlight, she saw a pool of blood on the ground and signs of a struggle. Ayu's heart leaped into her throat, and she cried out, "Old Chen, Old Chen, where are you?"

No one answered her. Just then, she heard the roar of a car engine outside the warehouse, followed by several beams of bright light shining in. Ayu knew that the mysterious organization had arrived. She turned to run, but found that her escape route was blocked.

Chapter Fourteen: Trapped in a Dire Situation

A group of men in black got out of the car and slowly surrounded Ayu. Ayu looked at them, clenched her fists, and shouted, "What do you want?"

The leader of the men in black sneered and said, "You little brat, you won't listen to reason, you insist on investigating things you shouldn't be investigating. Today is your death day."

Ayu was filled with despair, but she still tried to remain calm and said, "You've done so many bad things, aren't you afraid of retribution? Even if I die, I won't let you get away with it."

The man in black ignored her and gave a signal to his men, who then pounced on Ayu. Ayu fought back fiercely, but she was no match for these well-trained men in black and was quickly subdued.

Just as the man in black was about to make his move, a police siren suddenly sounded outside the warehouse. His expression changed, and he frantically looked around. It turned out that Ayu, worried about potential trouble, had sent an anonymous message to the police beforehand, informing them of possible dangerous locations. Unexpectedly, it had come in handy.

Chapter Fifteen: Temporary Escape

Seeing the situation was turning against them, the man in black abandoned Ayu and hurriedly got into his car and fled the scene. Ayu collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, her legs weak from the feeling of surviving such an ordeal.

When the police arrived, Ayu told them everything she knew. The police said they would do their best to investigate the matter and protect her safety.

Ayu knew that although she had escaped this time, the mysterious organization would definitely not let it go. She had to find evidence as soon as possible and not let them get away with it. She was very worried because Old Chen was still missing. She didn't know if Old Chen was still alive or where the evidence was.

With the help of the police, Ayu began to sort out the clues again. She felt that she might be able to find some clues about the evidence by starting with some of the known strongholds of the mysterious organization.

Chapter Sixteen: Into the Tiger's Den

After some investigation, Ayu learned of a suspected stronghold of the mysterious organization: an abandoned sanatorium on the outskirts of the city. The police initially disagreed with Ayu's participation, but Ayu insisted on going, saying she was familiar with some of the clues.
