10. Infiltrating the Gu Family's Old House

Night fell again, shrouding the city in darkness. Ah Yu and Zhong Hua, dressed in black, stealthily made their way towards the Gu family's old residence. They avoided the security cameras on the main streets, making their way along alleys and secluded paths. Finally, they arrived at the outer wall of the Gu family's old residence.

Ah Yu surveyed the surroundings and noticed the guards were changing shifts. Seizing the opportunity, he said to Zhong Hua, "Hua Hua, stay close to me." Then, he grabbed the wall with both hands, pushed off, and climbed over. Zhong Hua was a little scared below, but she mustered her courage and, with Ah Yu's help, also climbed over the wall.

The two quietly jumped into the courtyard of the old house and cautiously made their way towards the basement. Patrolling bodyguards passed by frequently in the courtyard, forcing them to hide in corners and wait for them to leave before continuing their advance.

Just as they were approaching the basement, they suddenly heard footsteps. Ah Yu and Zhong Hua were startled and quickly hid in the nearby flower bushes. They saw several bodyguards escorting someone towards the basement. Ah Yu looked closer and realized the person being escorted was Lin Wanqing.

XI. Rescue from the Basement

Ah Yu and Zhong Hua watched Lin Wanqing being led into the basement, their hearts filled with anxiety. After the bodyguards left, they quickly went to the basement door. The basement door was locked with a large padlock. Ah Yu took out a lock-picking tool from her pocket and began to carefully pick the lock.

After some effort, the lock was finally opened. Ah Yu and Zhong Hua gently pushed open the door and entered the basement. The basement was filled with a damp smell. In the dim light, they saw Lin Wanqing tied to a chair, her hair disheveled, and there were some bruises on her face.

Zhong Hua ran over with concern and asked, "Wanqing, how are you?" Lin Wanqing's eyes flashed with surprise when she saw A Yu and Zhong Hua. She said weakly, "I'm fine. Why are you here? It's dangerous here. You should leave quickly!" A Yu untied the ropes binding Lin Wanqing and said, "Wanqing, we've come to rescue you. We won't leave you here alone."

Just as they were about to leave the basement, they suddenly heard a commotion outside. "Oh no, someone must have discovered us!" Ah Yu exclaimed. He quickly grabbed Lin Wanqing and Zhong Hua and ran towards another exit of the basement.

12. Escape and Peril

Ah Yu, along with Zhong Hua and Lin Wanqing, ran desperately through the basement passage, the pursuers closing in. At the end of the passage was an iron door; Ah Yu pushed hard, only to find it locked. Panicked, he frantically searched for a way to open it.

Just then, Lin Wanqing saw a red button on the wall and said, "Ah Yu, look at that button, maybe it can open the door." Ah Yu pressed the button without hesitation, and the iron gate slowly opened. They rushed outside and found themselves in a garden.

However, the garden was already filled with Gu Yanting's men. Seeing them emerge, the bodyguards immediately surrounded them. Ah Yu told Zhong Hua and Lin Wanqing to hide behind her, preparing for a fierce battle with the bodyguards.

Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, a police siren suddenly sounded outside. It turned out that Ah Yu's friend, worried about their safety, had secretly called the police. Hearing the siren, Gu Yanting's men panicked. Taking advantage of the situation, Ah Yu led Zhong Hua and Lin Wanqing out of the encirclement and ran outside.

Under police cover, they finally escaped Gu Yanting's pursuit. However, they knew Gu Yanting wouldn't give up so easily, and they would still face immense danger in the days to come; an even fiercer struggle might have just begun. But at this moment, the three of them supported each other, their hearts filled with unwavering faith. No matter how many difficulties lay ahead, they would face them together and never back down.
