Love: A Choice
Chapter 1: The First Signs of Divergence
In the heart of a bustling metropolis, inside a towering office building, a heated project planning meeting is underway. Sunlight streams through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows onto the conference table, but fails to dispel the slightly tense atmosphere within.
Ah Yu sat on one side of the conference table, his eyes filled with determination and enthusiasm. He held his carefully prepared proposal in his hand, cleared his throat and said, "I think our project this time should adopt a bold, novel and highly localized creative approach. Consumers in the domestic market are eager to see something different. Doing so will quickly capture their attention and make our project stand out from the competition."
As he spoke, he showed everyone several pages of key content from the plan, which vividly depicted event scenes full of local flavor and highly distinctive promotional copywriting ideas.
However, several colleagues across from her frowned. One of the older colleagues spoke first: "Ah Yu, we are a multinational company. We have always had our own established style. Following internationally accepted marketing practices is the safest approach. This ensures the brand's consistency globally and also aligns with our long-term clients' perception of us."
The others nodded in agreement, and a discussion broke out in the meeting room. Everyone held their own opinion, but Ah Yu did not back down. He argued his case and tried to persuade everyone with the domestic market data and success stories he had researched. However, he gradually found that his voice was drowned out by the opposition and he was left isolated and helpless.
After the meeting, Ah Yu sat dejectedly at his desk, staring at the project proposal in his hands, utterly disappointed. He just wanted to make the best choice for the project, so why couldn't anyone understand?
At this moment, Zhong Hua walked over, gently patted A Yu's shoulder, and said with a hint of appreciation, "A Yu, I think your idea is great, really creative, and it really fits the situation of our domestic market. However, you were so assertive at the meeting just now, I'm afraid you might offend your colleagues and affect the atmosphere of our team in the future. If this project is to proceed smoothly, we still need everyone to work together."
Ah Yu sighed helplessly. Just as she was about to respond to Zhong Hua, Su Yao walked over and analyzed earnestly, "Ah Yu, I've been thinking about it from a business perspective. Actually, we don't need to fight to the death. Why don't you compromise a little and try to integrate our ideas? Maybe we can create a more perfect solution."
Hearing the two completely different opinions, Ah Yu felt even more conflicted. He didn't know how to choose, as if he were lost in a fog, unable to find a way forward.
Chapter Two: Reminiscences of the Past
Ah Yu returned home in a daze, slumped onto the sofa, and the sounds of the argument in the meeting and Zhong Hua and Su Yao's words kept echoing in his mind. He closed his eyes, but his thoughts involuntarily drifted back to when he first joined the team.
Back then, Ah Yu, brimming with passion for marketing planning, quickly won everyone's recognition with his unique creativity and positive work attitude despite being a newcomer. He and his team members worked countless overtime nights together, and celebrated small victories together to complete projects. The team atmosphere was so harmonious; everyone was willing to listen to each other's ideas and work together to improve every plan.
Zhong Hua was one of A Yu's best friends in the team from the beginning. The two often discussed ideas and inspired each other. Zhong Hua had a wealth of experience and could always offer very pertinent advice when A Yu was acting impulsively, helping A Yu avoid many detours.
Su Yao is recognized as a master of rational analysis in the team. She can always look at projects from a macro perspective, and her analysis is always insightful. Many times when projects were stuck, it was Su Yao's words that enlightened everyone and helped them find a new breakthrough.
But now, because of this project planning, everything seems to have changed. Ah Yu knows very well that everyone is actually doing this for the good of the project, but they just have different ideas. However, he is unwilling to let his great idea be shelved, and he doesn't want to go against his own principles to completely conform to the internationally accepted approach.
Just as Ah Yu was immersed in her memories and struggles, her phone suddenly rang. It was a message from Zhong Hua: "Ah Yu, don't be too depressed. I know you're feeling bad. How about we go out for coffee tomorrow and have a good talk?"
Ah Yu felt a warm feeling well up inside her as she read the message, and replied, "Okay, thank you, Brother Hua."
After putting down her phone, Ah Yu took a deep breath and decided to stop thinking about it for now. Perhaps after talking with Zhong Hua tomorrow, she could find some new ideas.
Chapter Three: The Feeling of Heartbeat
The next day, Ah Yu and Zhong Hua arrived at the coffee shop downstairs from the company as agreed. The coffee shop had a cozy atmosphere, with soft music playing in the air, which made people feel relaxed.
The two sat by the window and each ordered a coffee. Zhong Hua broke the silence first: "Ah Yu, I know you are very confident in your plan, and I support you from the bottom of my heart. But in a team, sometimes having good ideas is not enough. We also have to consider everyone's feelings and the harmony of the team."
Ah Yu took a sip of coffee and said with a wry smile, "Brother Hua, I understand what you mean, but I just feel it would be a pity to miss this opportunity to showcase local characteristics, and I believe it will definitely achieve great results in the domestic market."
