Chapter Seventy-Six: Killing the Demon 16

He pressed harder, and the collar was pulled open a little more. From top to bottom, he saw several faint marks on the back and abdomen. Ados's breathing became heavier.

"Could you have seen wrong?" Lu Cen asked doubtfully. Because everyone had been traveling these past few days, Lude hadn't had a chance to touch him. And Ados was always well-behaved, so it was unlikely that anyone would pinch him. So he said, "Maybe he bumped into it by accident."

Ados wasn't stupid enough not to recognize this. His eyes darkened. Ever since he met up with them at the mountaintop, he had noticed that Luther was very attached to Lucen, so much so that he didn't want to be apart for even a moment. He had also unexpectedly discovered that Lucen had marks on his body. At the time, he hadn't paid attention to them or thought about it that way. But now, everything connected.

He couldn't tell whether it was anger or hatred.

Suddenly, she asked, "So you're going back to break off your engagement with Luther?"

"ah?"

"Didn't the Earl and his family want to break off the engagement?"

Yes, yes.

"And you? Do you want to cancel it?"

Lu Cen was completely bewildered. He realized that when he entered each instance, he didn't quite understand what these people were thinking. Their thought processes were completely different from his own.

Will we even make it back alive?

Lu Cen meant that the mission should be the priority, but Yados interpreted it differently. He thought Lu Cen didn't want to break off the engagement, so why did he agree to meet him in the first place?

Are you teasing him?

He gripped the back of his neck fiercely, leaned close to his ear, and whispered like a demon, "If you don't break off the engagement when we get back, I'll kill you with my sword!"

Lu Cen's eyes widened, she took a few steps back, and then fell into another person's arms.

Luther put his arm around his waist and said coldly, "Don't try to scare him. Do you dare to kill him?"

Ados didn't look at him, but quietly watched Lucen leave after a moment.

Lu Cen went to sleep feeling melancholy that night.

He was genuinely frightened by what Ados had said during the day, and also somewhat saddened.

He admitted that he approached Ados with the intention of visiting his house to look at the books, but later, Ados took such good care of him that he could sense that although the mission was the main thing and he would leave sooner or later, he also thought that the two of them got along well. He never expected that Ados would actually want to kill him!

With this thought in mind, he fell into a deep sleep. To Lu Cen's surprise, he dreamed of the riverbank again.

The person was soaking in the water, waving to him and beckoning him over.

Lu Cen still remembered that this was a monster, and although she was terrified, her feet moved uncontrollably, and she stepped into the water.

The man came to undress Lu Cen. His fingers were long and slender, and his movements were pleasing to the eye. Lu Cen trembled, afraid that he would swallow him whole. Lu Cen was thin and weak. He had not gained any weight even after raising four dungeons. His body parts were long and thin, and his skin and flesh shone with a luster that made people's mouths water.

The man stripped Lu Cen naked, his fingers tracing his shoulders and back. "So beautiful."

Lu Cen felt a tickle, and a sense of panic, as if she couldn't grasp her fate. She asked in a soft voice, "Who are you?"

"Who am I? Have you forgotten who I am?"

"I am the demon you've been searching for all this time."

The human skin was shattered by the hard outer shell, and a pair of dark pupils were reflected in Lu Cen's eyes. The high and broad forehead, the pointed ears like those of an elf, and the sharp teeth in the slightly open mouth could easily tear open Lu Cen's throat with just a gentle pull.

Lu Cen woke up covered in sweat, his hair completely wet and stuck to his forehead.

Luther and Ados were fast asleep not far away, with birds chirping all night and only the rustling of the wind through the trees.

After Lu Cen calmed down, he realized something was wrong with his body. There were traces of transparent, slimy fluid on his body, even on his hair. When Lu Cen touched it, his hand was covered in it. Looking down, he saw that the fluid resembled the bodily fluid of some kind of animal. It wasn't smelly or foul at all; instead, it had a strange fragrance that made Lu Cen feel weak all over and dizzy. This wasn't the first time he had smelled this fragrance.

Where did he smell it?

Lu Cen couldn't remember anything and fell asleep again in her fragrant coat.

The next day, the first thing Lu Cen did when he woke up was to check himself. He was completely unharmed and there was no sticky substance on his body. It was as if everything he felt last night was an illusion. He spread his hands in a daze. Was last night a dream?

What are you thinking about?

Luther brought over an iron basin filled with water.

“We just discussed it and are preparing to set off tomorrow. Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll go hunt it for you.” As Luther spoke, he went to straighten his clothes. When he reached the back of his neck, he saw four finger marks and two purplish-blue marks underneath. His expression changed.

Unlike Ados, he pondered for a while but couldn't understand how Lu Cen could have time to be alone with Ados. They were almost always together during the day and in the same room at night. He couldn't possibly not know if they made any noise. The only possibility was that they had sneaked out while he was asleep.

His back teeth were almost crushed; jealousy overwhelmed his reason.

He was breathing rapidly, but he forced himself to hold it in.

Lu Cen asked, "How about we eat fish?"

Luther remained calm and said, "Okay, I'll go catch him later."

"Catch the big ones."

"Okay." Luther agreed, and then said, "Go and put on all the warm clothes you can, because the horses can't go into the forest tomorrow. Also, bring some food that you can carry with you. I'll prepare the rest for you."

"Okay." Lu Cen knew his own limitations; his greatest contribution was simply not to hold the team back.

The belongings and supplies were packed up. Two seriously injured guards were left here. If they succeeded, they would be picked up. If they failed, living here might be a way to escape the devil's clutches.

After finishing the last meal from the pot, everyone relaxed and waited until the moon was high in the sky before returning to their respective rooms.

When Luther returned, Lucen was already asleep, his mouth slightly open, his arm resting on his face, his legs on the side, and his breathing steady and long.

Ados was near the door, still packing his weapons.

The two exchanged a glance, then looked away in disgust.

Luther returned to his seat and lay down, but did not intend to sleep. He listened to Ados sorting things out, then lay down as well, and soon fell asleep.

Luther was a little puzzled, and vaguely felt that something was wrong.

If it wasn't Ados, then who could it be?

Those guards?

Or perhaps the captain of the guard?

Luther was pondering when he suddenly heard a noise coming from where Lucen was.

It sounded like a snake crawling. Luther was startled; something had come in from outside!

He was completely unaware that this thing had passed by him.

He wanted to open his eyes to see what it was, but his eyelids felt as heavy as if he hadn't slept for days.

A strange fragrance suddenly enveloped the small space. Luther's thoughts became even slower, but he heard the man carrying Lu Cen out the door.

He also took the fragrance with him.

Lu Cen felt like she was dreaming again.

He was like a fish caught by a fisherman, struggling to shake his tail but unable to break free from the fisherman's net. The net tightened and tightened, pulling him out of the water. He tumbled helplessly in the air, trapped in the net.

Lu Cen opened her eyes and found herself being held in someone's arms.

Lu Cen had been dreaming about it for three days straight, and this was the first time he had clearly seen the person's face. Lu Cen exclaimed in surprise, "Ados?"

Ados touched his face, his voice low and deep, "Mmm."

Ados pinched Lu Cen's chin and lowered his head to kiss Lu Cen's lips. Unlike the previous two days, Lu Cen's feelings were exceptionally vivid at this moment, not like a dream. His lips and tongue were captured by Ados, firmly sealed. Lu Cen found a gap, "We, why are we here?"

Ados gazed at his bright red lips, his fingers tracing the corner of his mouth. "What do you think?"

Would Lu Cen still ask him if she knew?

Having been brought here by Ados in the middle of the night, Lu Cen suddenly lost her temper, shook off his hand, and tried to get ashore.

Ados wrapped his arms around his waist from behind. "Where are we going?"

Lu Cen said irritably, "Go back to sleep."

"Stay with me a little longer." Ados inhaled the scent of his skin, a look of ecstasy in his eyes. "I'll take you home later."

Lu Cen felt that he was quite ill, coming to take a bath so late at night.

She even dragged him along.

He couldn't break free from the hand around his waist no matter what he did, so he gave up and soaked in the water with Ados.

Ados kissed him again, a tender and affectionate kiss, like a gentle breeze in the mountains. Lu Cen's mind was hazy, and he felt as if he were floating in the air with the clouds. His nerves were completely relaxed. He subconsciously wrapped his arms around Ados's neck and tilted his head up to receive Ados's kiss.

Ados ran his fingers through his hair and stroked his body with his other hand.

Lu Cen felt increasingly dizzy, unable to distinguish whether he was in reality or dreaming. His mouth was open, his tongue was numb from being sucked, and his body was trembling.

Ados kissed from his lips to his neck, then to his cheek, and finally back to his lips.

Lu Cen blushed slightly and leaned into Ados's arms. Ados carried him to sit on a protruding rock. The water barely covered their waists and below. Lu Cen was held in front of him, his legs spread apart on Ados's lap, his toes barely touching the sand. He rubbed his cheek against Ados's chin, with a hint of urging. Ados smiled, pulled him closer, pinched the back of Lu Cen's neck, and ran his fingers over his ear, stopping at his soft cheek.

Do you like me?

Lu Cen only saw his mouth opening and closing, and heard indistinct sounds.

Unable to get what he wanted, he became impatient, rubbing against Ados and saying plaintively, "I feel uncomfortable..."

Ados sighed, seemingly satisfied, then lowered his head and bit Lu Cen's lips, gently pressing them a few times. Lu Cen's breathing gradually became rapid.

Unlike the first time he had done this, Ados was skilled and adept at it.

After spending quite some time in the water, Ados placed Lucen in the clothes he had taken off.

Lu Cen curled up on the body, then her body was unfolded again.

Ados nibbled at his waist and abdomen for a long time, then turned to kiss Lucen. He pressed down on Lucen, and from a distance, the scene was messy and ambiguous. The mountain stream murmured, surrounded by trees, and the two bodies intertwined on the bank were the only bright spot in the green forest.

Luther, struggling to stay upright and feeling dizzy, arrived at the riverbank and saw Ados kissing Lucen. Anger overwhelmed him, burning his eyes with rage. His legs were so weak he almost collapsed to the ground. He was furious and about to rush up and fight him when he witnessed the most terrifying and bizarre scene of his life.
