After Chen Yu finished speaking, she closed the car door. She was exhausted and planned to go to sleep as soon as she got home.

Chen Kang watched Chen Yu walk into the residential area. Only after the lights in his house came on did he start his car and drive back to the police station. It wasn't until he entered the police station that he took out his phone and called Chen Le. This time, Chen Le answered.

"Hey? What's wrong, bro? Why are you making so many calls?"

"Come over here right away, something has happened to Chen Yu and Shen Yan."

These words made Chen Le immediately stop the car. He turned around and headed into the city. He was almost at the farm by then. Chen Le drove to the police station at breakneck speed.

Chen Kang watched as Chen Le led him into the office and recounted the whole incident. Chen Le slammed his hand on the table in anger, "Are kids this arrogant now? They have no sense of the law at all. What kind of parents are these people!"

"Jiang Yang doesn't seem like a bad kid usually, I really didn't expect him to do something like this."

"I can't even describe it. I'm going to check on Xiao Shenyan. I'll go home and visit him later."

As Chen Le walked out of the office, he saw a large group of people standing at the door, asking the police officers where their children were. Chen Le only glanced at them and left. He drove all the way to the First People's Hospital and only called Li Ziyun when he got downstairs.

"Sister-in-law, what floor and what number is it?"

"Hey, he's in room 607 on the 6th floor."

"Okay, I'll go up now."

Chen Le ran up and saw Li Ziyun wiping Shen Yan's face. He looked at Shen Yan with heartache and said, "How did he get so badly injured? My brother didn't say he was injured this badly."

Shen Yan opened his mouth slightly, but he couldn't say anything. Chen Le patted his shoulder and said, "Don't talk, just rest."

Li Ziyun went out to get a kettle of water, and Chen Le pulled her outside to complain. Li Ziyun then learned about what Chen Yu had encountered, and she almost fainted. Only then did Chen Le realize that his sister-in-law didn't know about this, and that he had let it slip again.

"Sister-in-law, don't worry, Yuyu is safe at home now. I'm going back to check on her now, and I won't be going back for the next few days."

"Go check on Yu Yu quickly. If she's injured, bring her back immediately!"

"Okay, sister-in-law, I'll go back now."

Chen Le's heart skipped a beat. He was sure he was going to get scolded by Chen Kang again. He didn't even realize what was happening. This was really bad.

Li Ziyun immediately called Chen Kang and questioned him about why he hadn't told her. Chen Kang had no choice but to explain that he wanted to wait until everything was settled before telling her, not that he didn't want to tell her. This calmed Li Ziyun down a bit. She then inquired about Chen Yu's condition and, knowing that she was alright, felt at ease keeping watch over Shen Yan.

When Chen Le received Chen Kang's call, he knew he was doomed. However, Chen Kang did not scold him. Instead, he told Chen Le to stay home and take good care of Chen Yu. He would be going to the hospital every day, and it would be easier for his family to manage things if he stayed here.

Chen Le told his friend at the neighboring farm to keep an eye on things for him for the next few days, then opened the front door of his house and went inside.

Chen Yu immediately opened her eyes and sat up in bed. She alertly grabbed a stick for self-defense and pressed it against the door to listen to the sounds downstairs. She really couldn't believe that someone could break into her home.

She opened the door quietly, tightening her grip on the stick. She crept downstairs, watching the figure in the darkness. She raised the stick, just as Chen Le turned on the living room light.

"Uncle...?"

"Chen Yu, what are you doing? Are you trying to murder your own uncle?"

Chen Yu put down the stick in her hand. "Hey, you almost scared me to death! Why did you suddenly run over here?"

“Your dad called me and told me about your relationship with Shen Yan, so I came to check on you.”

"Alright, I was already asleep, and you woke me up again." Just as she finished speaking, Chen Yu's stomach growled. The two looked at each other and asked, "Shall we go for barbecue?" Chen Le invited Chen Yu.

"Set off!"

Chen Yu was too lazy to even change out of her pajamas, so she just threw on a jacket and followed Chen Le out the door. The two arrived at a very popular barbecue restaurant, which was so crowded that they would have to wait in line if they arrived even a little later.

The two sat in a small corner. Chen Le ordered some of his favorite dishes and also asked Chen Yu to order some more.

"Uncle, did you go to see Shen Yan?"

"Yeah, it breaks my heart to see such a handsome face ruined like that."

Chen Yu didn't speak, but stared blankly at the table. She didn't even notice when the waiter brought the skewers. It was Chen Le who brought one to her. Chen Yu took the skewer and ate a few bites, her taste buds immediately awakened. She didn't stop until she was full.

It was almost 3 a.m. when Chen Yu got home. Yawning, she went upstairs and said, "Uncle, I'm going upstairs to sleep."

"Go."

Chen Le tidied up his room briefly. Li Ziyun was so thoughtful back then; he had prepared four rooms, leaving one for Chen Le so he could stay when he came back. It seems that was the right thing to do.

Chen Kang was busy until morning before he got home. These children were all minors, so getting them out was quite troublesome.

He took a shower and then knocked on Chen Le's door, just as Chen Le woke up.

"Could you go to the hospital and cover for your sister-in-law?"

"Okay, I'll go now."

Chen Le changed his clothes and went out. He glanced at his watch; it was almost 9 o'clock. He bought some breakfast downstairs and went to the hospital. He brought the breakfast to the ward.

"Sister-in-law, come and eat something."

"Happy, my sister-in-law has already eaten and is going home. She can't sleep well here."

"Go back quickly, I'll keep watch here."
