Jiang Siyan called at that moment.

The phone rang hollowly for a few seconds before Su Er belatedly reacted and answered, "Hello."

"You cried?" Jiang Siyan sensed her distress almost instantly. "Why?"

Su Er wiped away her tears, put the script aside, and listened to his voice, gradually pulling herself out of character. "I didn't act well today."

"Aren't you ashamed of this?" Jiang Siyan hadn't looked into the details of filming, but to him it was about the same as a child failing a test.

In his eyes, he had always regarded Su Er as a little girl.

"If I don't perform well, the whole crew will be waiting for me. It's so embarrassing, you know?" Su Er's tone was a little unfriendly, but they hadn't been talking on the phone much lately, and she didn't want to argue with him about this. She composed herself and changed the subject, asking, "Jiang Siyan, I miss you. Have you missed me?"

Her cheerful laughter came through the phone receiver. Jiang Siyan could almost picture her holding the phone with delight. A smile spread across his lips, and his tone carried a doting affection that he himself was unaware of: "So promising."
