The world is a piece of dog shit, but luckily you are by my side.

I woke up and went from being Chinese in China to being Chinese in America.

Oh well, being Chinese is fine.

Chapter 98

Carol also gave Lina a lot of sense of security. Lina watched as she efficiently dealt with an intruder, then changed her clothes and disguised herself.

Praise the magnificent chameleon.

There was no time to think. Lina decided to climb over the wall, a dangerous move, but she had to stop the car honking outside, or the horde of zombies would be attracted.

Lina was climbing up the joint of the steel plate when she heard the sounds outside stop.

Perhaps someone has returned?

Never mind, just stop it.

Lena jumped down from the wall. The inside was a mess. After thinking for a moment, she decided to go find Eugene first. Since they were already in, they might as well not leave.

Although it's unclear why the power grid stopped working, Eugene should be able to solve the problem.

Upon arriving at the electrified room, they found that W had not attacked them, but Eugene was lying on the ground. Lina quickly turned Eugene over and patted his face.

It feels nice, soft and fluffy, but a bit oily.

Eugene groggily opened his eyes, "My head... it must be broken..."

"No, but it's swollen into a big lump," Lina said. "What happened?"

“I’m not entirely sure, but there’s an 80% chance Pete escaped and hit me with a stick.” Eugene groaned in pain, “My head…”

"Is the power grid still working?" Lina asked.

“Of course, all you have to do is,” Eugene looked up groggily, “turn on that switch.”

“Okay.” Lina turned on the switch and walked over to Eugene. “I’ll take you to the infirmary.”

“I think things must be pretty bad outside. You’d better not bring me along as a sitting duck, for our safety,” Eugene said hesitantly. “I can hide here.”

Lina thought for a moment, nodded, and pulled out a small pistol, handing it to Eugene. "Shoot anyone who isn't one of us."

Lina dragged Eugene to a corner, went out, locked the door, and headed towards the warehouse.

If Pete escapes, he might die at the hands of these people, but if he betrays them... what could be more tempting to them than an armory?

Just as Lina had thought, a fierce battle was now raging in the warehouse. Although Amy and Maggie had quite a few guns, the two of them couldn't hold the place. The group of people were elusive and always managed to sneak in silently.

Olivia was captured and taken hostage, which put Amy and Maggie in a passive position.

The situation turned completely unfavorable. The intruders barged in without restraint. Maggie and Amy saw Pete, who was supposed to be locked up. No wonder the group rushed straight to the warehouse; someone had given them directions.

Maggie glared fiercely at Pete, who, though startled, now clearly felt a surge of smugness.

"Now, put down your guns," a curly-haired man, who was leading five people into the room, said smugly to Maggie and the others.

Despite their reluctance, Maggie and Amy gave in to Olivia's sobbing. Just as they slowly lowered their guns, a sixth person entered through the door. Maggie glanced at 'him' and felt a little strange.

“Aphids…” The curly-haired man’s smile froze. The aphid he was talking about suddenly pulled out a gun, quickly killed the two people in front of him, and shot him.

Maggie and Amy swiftly killed the others as well. The curly-haired man fell to the ground with a puzzled look on his face, and Olivia ran to Maggie's side in terror.

Pete shoved aside the people at the door and ran out. 'Aphid' fired two shots at his back, but did not give chase.

The 'aphid' at the door pulled down its mask; it was Carol.

"My God," Amy breathed a sigh of relief. Carol quickly closed the door, walked to the guns, and deftly began to arm herself.

"Are you alone?" Maggie asked. Where's Lina? Weren't they just together?

“We’ve split up,” Carroll said, tucking his gun away. “Don’t worry, I think she’ll come and check the area.” Carroll pulled up his mask. “Be careful, or hide your guns first.”

“I’ll go outside with you, Amy. You and Olivia stay here,” Maggie said, also getting armed.

“No, Andrea is outside too, I have to go check on her,” Amy said with some concern.

"I...I can't. Don't leave me alone," Olivia said, sounding a little scared.

“Maggie and I are coming, Amy, you stay,” Carol said. “You have to trust your sister.” Amy glanced at Olivia with a hint of helplessness, and gave in to her pleading gaze.

“If you see her, be sure to tell her to be careful and tell her I’m fine,” Amy said.

“Don’t worry,” Maggie nodded firmly.

The two quickly opened the door and went out. Amy handed the gun to Olivia, and the two of them stood guard at the door with their guns pointed at them.

Not long after stepping outside, Carol spotted Morgan and Gabriel. A quick glance told her what they were doing. Carol immediately drew her gun and shot the fallen intruder. The two men tying him up looked at Carol and Maggie in surprise. Morgan sighed. Carol didn't want to listen to their 'preaching.' She pulled out her gun and handed it to them, saying, "Hurry up."

Maggie nodded to the two of them and quickly left with Carol; there were too many invaders in Alexandria.

“The power grid is back on. Lina must have done something,” Carroll said. Clearly, Lina didn’t want to give these guys a chance to escape, so she would be guarding the gate sooner or later.

While they had to be wary of intruders, Maggie and Carol also had to finish off the dead, so they couldn't quickly find anyone else.

Just as Carol had guessed, seeing Carol running towards the warehouse, Lina changed direction. She saw Pete, who had been shot in the stomach—serves him right.

Although she wanted to cut off his head herself, Lina decided to put that aside for now; killing those Ws was more important.

Stealthily eliminating the intruders along the way, Lina reached the doorway. She saw four intruders. Although they were troublesome, they didn't have guns, so she wasn't afraid.

Just as Lina was about to go out, she saw Morgan appear and start talking to one of the people.

She remembered that Morgan seemed to have some kind of erratic psychological issues, but coincidentally, Morgan had captured their attention.

"Lina! Stop!" Morgan stared in astonishment as Lina suddenly appeared, killing two people with two slashes and another with a throwing knife. The remaining man who had been talking to her looked at them with a horrified and distorted expression.

"No!" Morgan looked at Lina.

Lina paused for a moment, then swiftly swung her knife and killed the person who was trying to escape.

“He’s about to leave!” Morgan said, sounding somewhat distraught.

“Are our people just meant to be killed by them?” Lina picked up her knife. “Morgan, why don’t you go check where Dwayne is? Aren’t you worried?”

Morgan paused for a moment. "He'll protect himself. I know. They're all together."

“Great. If those kids soften their hearts, do you think these people will let them go? Morgan, wake up. Some people are worth saving, and some are no longer worth it.”

"Then who has the right to judge whether they are worth it or not?" Morgan insisted.

"...I don't want to talk to you about these things. All I know is that blood must be paid for with blood," Lina calmly closed the door and turned to look at Morgan. "I dare say I have never killed an innocent person, never, and I am not afraid of anyone coming to 'take revenge' on me." Lina chuckled. "Don't talk to me about that, Morgan. Think about Dwayne. Your soft heart is his death warrant."

Morgan gripped the stick tightly, and sighed helplessly, "..."

“Alright, you’d better go check on the children,” Lina glanced into the distance; more intruders were approaching. She didn’t want to argue with Morgan over these people’s lives.

Morgan hesitated for a long time before finally leaving with his stick.

Lina cracked her neck and gripped the knife tightly. Having gone to such lengths to break in, she figured she might as well stay.

Many people wanted to run away, but it was clear that the menacing figure at the gate had no intention of letting anyone pass. The community gradually quieted down, and Maggie and the others arrived at the gate, only to be surprised to find that Lina was almost covered in blood.

There were nearly a dozen corpses lying around her. Lina casually piled the corpses whose heads she had stabbed together, then sat on top of them and waved to Maggie and the others in a good mood.

Deanna was startled.

Maggie quickly put away her gun and went over to help Lina up. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

Lina scratched her cheek awkwardly. "I accidentally got stabbed," she pointed to her stomach, "but it's okay, it doesn't hurt too much."

Maggie said seriously, "I'll take you to the infirmary. Dad and Dennis are there."

"Are the others alright?" Lina asked.

“We’ll go investigate next; there might be others hiding in the community,” Maggie said, looking at Deanna. Deanna, having recovered her composure, said, “I have to go outside for a bit. Spencer is on lookout duty, and he hasn’t come back yet…” Deanna said worriedly.

"Take your gun," Lina said, looking at Maggie. "Are you going with her?"

"And what about you?" Maggie asked hesitantly.

“Believe me, she needs you more than I do,” Lina said with a hint of disdain, thankfully her face was flushed so that her expression was not visible.

After thinking it over, Maggie had no choice but to agree to Lina's arrangement. She took Diana outside to look for Spencer.

As Lina walked toward the infirmary, she checked her surroundings. Perhaps due to blood loss, or perhaps due to the euphoria of her recent rampage, she felt no discomfort. In fact, it actually helped to dissipate her anger. Whoever provokes them, they will be killed.

Although the Salvation Army was large, not all of them were worthy of her fear. It was just Negan and his scheming henchman, so she killed them all.

Lina gripped her knife tightly and stabbed the moving zombie in the ground. She thought, "We'll get the RPG back in Darriel, and that night will come. At worst, we'll all die together." Lina's eyes darkened, and she became even more ruthless.
