Chapter 10 What a huge pot!

Although Huo Fei is a demon, his path of cultivation is different from others. After gaining enlightenment, in addition to cultivating his demonic essence, he also cultivated his Buddhist nature like all monks—he is a demon with immense Buddhist power.

The moon hung in the treetops, and the zoo was completely silent. Huo Fei strode into the predator enclosure.

He stood still, raised his dark eyes, and quietly observed the movements of the demons in the beast territories.

The prison break incident caused significant losses to both Buddhism and Taoism. When the prison was rebuilt, both religions worked together, setting up a large-scale demon-suppressing array outside the prison and a smaller array in each cell.

With double reinforcement, these demons definitely won't be able to escape.

But just because they can't escape doesn't mean they'll behave themselves. That strange movement just now definitely meant that some demon had touched the formation.

All the demon-suppressing formations here are connected to his mind. He can sense any movement.

Huo Fei looked around and saw that there was no unusual activity in the surroundings. Not only that, but all the imprisoned demons were still there.

He lowered his eyes, a slight upward curve at the corners of his mouth, a mysterious smile playing on his otherwise resolute face. He let out a soft hum, and his tall figure suddenly leaped into the air.

A chilling, piercing cry of an eagle suddenly rang out from his mouth. The sound tore through the night sky and echoed throughout the entire zoo.

He stood solemnly in mid-air, coldly glancing down at the ground. Then, he crossed his long legs, placed his hands on his knees, opened his mouth, and a series of swastika-shaped Buddhist symbols flashed from his mouth, drifting down towards the prison below.

"Ahhh!"

The loud Buddhist chants pierced through the entire prison, startling the sleeping demons awake. They all covered their ears and began to roar.

The zoo was bustling with activity.

"Roar—Huo Fei, what's wrong with you in the middle of the night? Can't a person get some sleep?"

"Who the hell provoked this lunatic again? Step forward and accept your punishment..."

"Huo Fei, stop, stop, stop... Stop it—which bastard got into trouble? Just go find him directly, why are you lecturing us!"

The unique Buddhist chant lingered for three days, carrying boundless Buddhist power that penetrated the minds of all the demons.

The demons felt as if they were being submerged by an endless sea, their bodies limp and their breaths labored. They were furious, their bloodshot eyes filled with deep hatred.

But before this hatred could erupt, it was completely dismembered by wave after wave of Buddhist chanting. Apart from the waves of pain, there was no time to care about anything else.

The Buddhist chants, imbued with boundless power, echoed in their ears. A group of demons, already stripped of their cores, crumbled completely after the chants flooded their minds. They quickly began begging for mercy.

Huo Fei ignored him, lightly blinking his eyes and uttering Buddhist mantras.

At this moment, he was solemn and dignified, giving people a sense of sacredness that was not to be profaned.

Hmph, since they dare to even think about escaping, they shouldn't blame him for making them suffer. They actually dared to challenge his authority; did they really think he, as a law enforcer, was just there to be ignored?

These demons, their demonic nature remains unchanged. He won them a sliver of hope, yet they didn't appreciate it...

Hearing the waves of painful roars below, Huo Feiying raised his eyes, his lips moved, and he quickened the pace of his chanting.

Huo Fei was exasperated. The demon realm was devastated, with fewer and fewer new demons emerging. These demons, who had finally achieved some success in their cultivation, didn't appreciate it and indulged their demonic nature, committing all sorts of evil deeds.

If they continue to act recklessly like this, sooner or later the demon race will completely disappear from this world.

Although he cultivated himself before the Buddha, he still belonged to the demon race. He could not stand by and watch the demon race fall.

When the demon hunters first approached him and offered him the position of head of the prison, he argued vehemently with them, demanding that these demons, though guilty of wrongdoing, be given a chance to repent.

He chanted scriptures for them day and night, hoping to wash away their sins and return them to their original state. But none of them understood his good intentions.

Huo Fei was determined to teach these arrogant demons a profound lesson. Therefore, he abandoned the scriptures he recited every morning and evening and instead switched to the Holy Zen Scripture.

This scripture was specially compiled for Huo Fei by the first monk of Luohan Temple. It contains a large number of Mahavairocana Tathagata's purification mantras, with the purpose of washing away Huo Fei's demonic nature.

A demon's demonic nature is innate and difficult to wash away; it is also extremely painful.

This thing has both benefits and harms. It washes away a demon's demonic nature, allowing them to embark on a smooth demonic path. As long as they don't court death, they can generally achieve enlightenment. However, in this process, they also bear the risk of their divine spirit being clouded, completely losing their reason and demonic essence, and transforming into a mortal beast.

Huo Fei gained enlightenment and cultivated himself before the Buddha. Having spent a long time with Buddhist monks, he naturally possessed a trace of Buddhist nature. Even so, it took the monk nearly fifty years to truly wash away his demonic nature, which shows how difficult it was to do so.

The demons below had already lost their demon cores and were severely malnourished. Now, after being baptized by Huo Fei's Holy Zen Scripture, some of them couldn't withstand it and slowly began to transform into beasts in the process.

Huo Fei kept a close eye on the situation below, his lips moving without stopping. However, the Buddhist mudra he exhaled subconsciously avoided the demons on the verge of turning into beasts.

He wanted to frighten these demons, to make them wary, so they wouldn't just eat their fill and then think of causing him trouble. He never intended to reduce them to mere mortal beasts.

"—Roar roar roar!"

"Huo Fei, what are you trying to do... Shut up!"

"Huo Fei, you traitor! You're clearly a demon, yet you act as a lackey of humans!"

Seeing their neighbor's beast-like appearance, the demons sensed something was wrong and couldn't sit still any longer.
