Chapter 2 Snowy New Year's Eve 1

The train rumbled forward, but the carriage was as quiet as a chicken. This power far beyond that of an ordinary person made everyone shut up tacitly.

"What's your name?" the conductor asked the young man with a smile.

The young man hesitated for a moment and said coldly, "Xu Dao."

"Oh," the conductor made an expression of sudden realization and nodded exaggeratedly, indicating that Xu Dao could leave.

Xu Dao followed him back to his previous seat and sat down, watching the conductor continue speaking.

"I'm sure everyone here is confused, so let me give you a brief introduction." The conductor straightened his clothes, stood up straight, and introduced everyone with a happy smile. "This train can accommodate 50,000 people. You are currently in temporary car number one. There are countless cargo holds behind it. Don't be surprised. This train uses the most advanced technology, and its length and space are far beyond your imagination. I'd also like to add that everyone in this car is very lucky; not every car can see the distinguished conductor."

"Let's get back to the point. Before you get the gold coins, you can only live in the low-class carriages. The front half of the train has twenty high-class carriages, each with ten high-class rooms, where guests can have their own spacious rooms. The back fifteen carriages are ordinary carriages, each with ten rooms, and each room has twelve beds."

"The last forty carriages are low-class carriages. They are more crowded and only provide the most basic living conditions. Each carriage has only one room, and each room has eight rows of beds, each row has thirty beds, and the beds are arranged in five layers in total. One carriage can accommodate 1,200 people."

"Of course," he tapped his cane lightly. "In addition to these residential carriages, we will also provide high-quality services for high-end passengers. Ordinary passengers will also have supporting life service carriages, while low-class passengers will only receive services sufficient to support their basic survival."

"All purchases in the carriages can only be paid with gold coins, which can be earned through gameplay. The train will be parked for a day at each station, allowing passengers to disembark and explore. But remember to return promptly—the train won't wait for you." The conductor, with a broad smile and exaggerated gestures, introduced his proud train to the crowd. "The outside world is beautiful but also full of dangers, but inside this train, it's absolutely safe. No one can harm you. If you encounter any problems or need anything, call the conductor, and they'll be there quickly to assist you."

"So, does anyone have any questions?"

Bai Xing listened to him quietly. The train is absolutely safe, but are the people living on it really absolutely safe?

"Um, please tell me," someone weakly raised their hand. Bai Xing looked over and saw it was the man with glasses who had been kicked down earlier. The man with glasses weakly looked at the conductor, and after receiving a reassuring look from him, he asked with a timid look, "What's the game?"

The train conductor grinned, revealing a few white teeth. "The game is what you play every Sunday. The game will forcibly transport you to another place. You won't play the game on the train. After the mandatory weekly game, you can rest for six days. Of course, you can choose to refuse to participate, but you will lose the source of gold coins."

"You are about to participate in the rookie level. After the rookie level, you will be under a seven-day protection period. During the protection period, you will stay in a temporary carriage for 40 people and enjoy the final comfort until your first official game is over. Then you will be automatically merged into a low-level carriage. I have said everything that needs to be said, so I wish you all to live forever." After the conductor uttered this strange remark, he opened the carriage door and left.

Bai Xing quickly stood up and adjusted her position to look behind the door. The door closed very quickly, but she could still vaguely see that there seemed to be metal eggs hanging from the ceiling inside.

She only felt a little cold sweat on her back. The scene she saw was too weird and seemed unreal.

The sound of low-pitched discussions slowly began to rise in the carriage again. There were also people whispering around Bai Xing. Seeing that Bai Xing was just a young child who looked like she was still in school, they ignored her and did not invite her to join the discussion.

Bai Xing didn't care and went back to her corner to think.

A cheerful music sounded in the air.

"The game is about to start. Please be prepared. The first time you play, it will be in beginner welfare mode. Players will not die in the game, and the damage received in the game will not be brought back to the train. Please enjoy the game."

After the sound disappeared, a countdown suddenly appeared in the air.

A cold wind blew, Bai Xing sneezed, opened her eyes, and found herself on the streets of an ancient city full of the atmosphere of the times. She looked down at her clothes and realized that she had become a young beggar. Her clothes were shabby and thin but barely clean and tidy. In her little hand, she held a broken porcelain bowl with a hole in it. She didn't know who threw it away, but picked it up to use as a tool for making a living.

The person next to her hummed slightly. Bai Xing turned around and was surprised to find that it was a policeman.

Xu Dao also opened his eyes and saw Bai Xing. He looked around in surprise and asked, "Are we already in the game?"

Bai Xing nodded, and suddenly a transparent panel appeared in front of her eyes. She looked closely and saw that it was the passenger panel of Doomsday Train, which displayed the game information of her first game.
