In the Apocalypse, Ke Meiyu was a “canary” kept by the big shot Ying Yan.
She resented the big shot’s domineering, indifferent, and ruthless nature, yet yearned for the freedom of an or...
While Hanks is ostensibly a project in collaboration between Ke Meiyu, Ying Yan, and Charles, it is essentially a government-run operation. Half of the profits are to be handed over to the organization, while the remainder belongs to the project team. However, a quarter of the profits are to be used to expand production.
Employees' wages and benefits should be the same as other workers. Currently, this approach not only introduces foreign technology into the country, driving development in various aspects, but also creates numerous jobs, alleviating urban employment pressure.
The farms in the suburbs have been set up in full swing, and the workers have undergone rigorous training and raise chickens, cattle, pigs and fish in a scientific manner.
When Ke Meiyu first suggested raising livestock to Luofeng Village, she didn't expect to be involved in the business of the number one fried chicken and hamburger brand, but she was also looking towards the great demand for meat in future generations.
She had access to the system's shop, so she secretly redeemed some future breeds, such as broiler chickens that could be ready for market in about two months, and dairy cows. It took her several twists and turns to bring the items from the system into the open.
Although Hanks mainly sells fried chicken, occasionally with beef buns, she also wants to sell sausages and fish balls.
The biggest expense is on the machines. Although fully automated farming cannot be achieved, semi-automation can greatly improve the quality of feeding and shorten the feeding time.
They didn't have enough money on hand, so they went to the bank to exchange a lot of gold and silver.
Once everything at the farm was running smoothly, Hanks' shop was renovated, and the staff had undergone rigorous screening and training and were all in their positions!
In the past few days, television, radio, newspapers, bus stop signs, buses, and bulletin boards in major shopping malls and communities have all been covered with colorful posters. In a world of gray, black, white and blue, they are like clusters of flames, blooming everywhere and capturing everyone's attention.
There was also a group of middle-aged women carrying canvas bags on their backs and in their hands, filled with specially printed fans with Chinese-style patterns and advertisements for Hanks.
They handed out the gifts to everyone they met, and were quickly overwhelmed by the frenzied crowd.
"What are they doing?" Passersby couldn't help but ask out of curiosity, and eager to know what was going on.
"Here's the fan delivery guy," a person walking over from the opposite side enthusiastically explained, "Isn't there a shop selling foreign food next to the department store that's under renovation and getting ready to open?"
"They're really rich! Look how well this fan is made, sturdy and beautiful, and it blows a strong wind. It's free!" The enthusiastic person said, waving the fan in their hand with a slightly excited expression.
"But each person can only take one. If you want more, everyone will push you out. I heard they're giving out pouches on the north side, T-shirts on the east side, and keychains on the west side. I can't tell you anymore, let's see if we can grab them all..."
Those around them who heard this went crazy. Looking at the crowded people, they bent down to tie their shoelaces, slung their bags over their shoulders, and gritted their teeth as they tried to squeeze into the crowd.
After a week of such a grand advertising campaign, by Sunday, before dawn, many elderly people were already strolling around and waiting to see what was going on. Apparently, there would be a grand opening ceremony today, and the stage had already been set up last night.
This area is now a commercial district, built from the old street. It used to be the residence of the powerful and wealthy. The streets were wide and open, and the central square was a huge square where emperors held events for the emperor and the people to enjoy themselves. Now, a department store has been built here, and there is a large market opposite. Various convenience stores are also gathered along the streets.
The post office, state-run restaurants, photo studios, barbershops, Friendship Store, cinemas, the city's First People's Hospital, and so on, are all located here.
At eight o'clock sharp, the beautiful host, dressed in a cheongsam, went up with a microphone, accompanied by Charles, who was slightly shy but still had the humor and eloquence of the American people.
Ke Meiyu and Ying Yan quietly linked arms and stood in the crowd, watching the excitement with great interest.
They had agreed from the beginning that Charles would be fully responsible for the operation of the shop, while the couple would be left to their own devices.
We hold a meeting every one or two weeks to make adjustments based on sales performance.
After the host's humorous opening, he threw a bowl of palm-sized dolls into the audience. Then Charles gave a brief introduction to Hanks' background and food varieties. There were ten performances, including skits, crosstalk, songs, dances, and operas, which were a combination of Chinese and foreign styles.
Interspersed throughout were advertisements for Hanks, with the most attractive aspect being the discounts offered.
Even if food is expensive, people must feel that it's a good deal and they've gotten a great bargain!
"Comrades, Hanks is the first publicly-run authentic foreign restaurant in Xiahua, with unique flavors and attentive service. From the moment you step into the store, it's a different kind of enjoyment, allowing you to eat with style and a sense of ritual..."
Charles gave a very straightforward price quote, and the price of each variety was so high that everyone gasped.
"Oh my god, this is too expensive. It's not something ordinary workers like us can afford. One of these bags is enough for the whole family to eat noodles at a restaurant."
"Do they even know how to do business? They're making such a big fuss, and their products are ridiculously expensive. If they can't sell them, it's all for nothing..."
However, Charles then started talking about the set meal price, which could be discounted by half, especially the breakfast and supper, making it a luxury that people could barely afford.
Then Charles mentioned that there was a daily special offer, priced similarly to the meat buns at state-run restaurants, and everyone started secretly thinking about bringing their kids to try it out.
Charles was talking about coupons, half-price deals during the trial period, buy-one-get-one-free offers, free samples, and free toys and books, which excited everyone.
After the performance, there were lion and stilt walker shows, during which various small gifts and candies were distributed, making it lively for two or three hours.
Many leaders participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the business. By the time the doors were opened for business, it was already 11 o'clock.
