Chapter 108

You shameless vampires

Cheng Sangluo and Lin Jin were affectionate through the screen, exchanging explicit love words all night long, their bizarre and passionate affair becoming increasingly intense.

I never imagined that someone could be so troublesome when they were happy, causing them to be disturbed all night without any dreams.

She slept through the night, a rare occurrence, until she was awakened by a series of urgent and heavy knocks on the door.

"Who is it?" Cheng Sangluo sat up groggily, picked up her phone to check the time, but the phone had run out of battery and shut down automatically, so she tossed it aside in frustration.

'Thump thump thump—thump thump thump—'

The knocking on the bedroom door continued, prompting her to mutter impatiently, "Who is it? Stop it!"

She ruffled her messy hair, angrily threw off the covers, and walked slowly into the foyer.

The knocking grew increasingly urgent, until it eventually turned into a chaotic, haphazard banging.

Cheng Sangluo was still in a half-awake state and didn't immediately realize that there was more than one person knocking on the door, nor did she look through the peephole.

She flung open the door, trying to quickly stop the noise, and snapped rudely, "Who is it? Are you trying to kill me? You..."

Before she could finish speaking, Cheng Sangluo's reprimand abruptly stopped as she stared in astonishment at the three people blocking the doorway.

As fate would have it, the group of vengeful spirits appeared right in front of her, carrying an aura of impending doom.

The people blocking the door were members of the Cheng family who hadn't shown up for a long time.

Cheng Xing was standing at the front. He didn't even greet his sister when he saw her. He just shoved her aside and barged into the house.

"Hey, what are you doing? Get out!" Cheng Sangluo gave her a cold look, turned around and took a step to chase away the uninvited guest, but Cheng's parents, who were following behind, took advantage of the situation and rushed in as well.

The two elderly people had never seen such a magnificent house before. They kept looking around, and when they saw any unusual objects, they touched them without thinking.

Cheng Xingfei fell onto the soft leather floor, casually placing his feet on the coffee table. The worn soles of his shoes were covered in dry mud, which he shook out and scattered everywhere.

He put his hands behind his head and berated his sister: "Wow, Cheng Sangluo, you're living such a good life, haven't you ever thought about letting your family enjoy it too?"

"You ingrate!" Mr. Cheng slammed onto the sofa, glaring menacingly at his daughter. He continued his tirade, echoing his son's words, "Now that you've climbed the social ladder, you want to leave us far behind. You're such an ingrate!"

Cheng Sangluo pursed her lips and didn't respond. She stood in front of the sofa, lost in thought, unable to understand how these vampires had found Linxi Terrace.

Seeing that life is getting better and better, these bastards are the real dogs, coming here just because they smelled the scent.

"Sangluo, we're not here to cause you any trouble. I'm relieved that you're doing well now, but..." Cheng's mother still had that hypocritical, kind tone.

She hesitated for a few seconds before explaining her purpose: "Could you lend us some money? If you do, we'll leave immediately."

“No money.” Cheng Sangluo refused bluntly, picked up the fruit knife on the table, and slammed it hard on the coffee table. “I’m still carrying that three million. I have no money, but you can take my life. Either get out.”

She thought this would scare away the shameless family, but the Cheng family sitting on the sofa didn't budge, looking like scoundrels who wouldn't leave without money.

"You're not going to pay, are you?" Cheng Xing raised his voice, casually lighting a cigarette. "If you don't pay, even if the King of Heaven himself came, we wouldn't leave."

"I raised you all these years, and I can't count on you at all. You live a carefree life in a place like this. Have you ever thought about your parents who are starving and freezing every day?" Mr. Cheng never gave him a kind look, and his words were full of random accusations.

He leaned back on the sofa, mimicking his son by putting his feet up on the coffee table, and threatened, "Let me put this in perspective, we're sticking with you. You won't have a peaceful day until you pay us!"

Cheng Xing flicked the cigarette ash onto the expensive cashmere carpet and ordered his mother, who was standing beside him, "Mom, I'm hungry. Go see what's in the kitchen. Since this is my sister's house, isn't it also our house?"

In this rotten family, Cheng's mother was nothing more than a bottom-class person who could not resist. She obeyed her son's orders and silently went to the kitchen.

Cheng Sangluo turned her head and glanced at it, but did not step forward to stop her.

She had to keep an eye on the two bastards in the living room, and after weighing her options, she had no choice but to let her mother use the kitchen without permission.

Cheng Xing must have anticipated her concerns, which is why he appeared so calm and composed.

He patted the leg that Cheng Sangluo had broken, and gritted his teeth, saying, "You owe me a leg that you can never repay. Also, you don't have to pay me. I can take whatever good stuff in this house I want."

Cheng Sangluo glared at the shameless man, laughing in anger, while secretly clenching her fists.

She tried her best to suppress her temper, constantly reminding herself not to make any more mistakes and not to ruin the hard-won good life.

After a moment of silence, she calmly said, "First, this house belongs to Lin Jin. If you dare to touch anything here, she won't let you off the hook. Second, we live in a society governed by law. If you're really desperate, I suggest you go to jail like me. I can call the police right now. Third, I've been in the army, killed people, and been to jail. If you're pushed to the limit, I'll do whatever I want. If you don't leave now, you'll never leave in this lifetime."

"Now that you're all grown up, you think you can bluff us? You still want to pull the same trick you did back in Seventeen Port?" Mr. Cheng stood up angrily, rushed to Cheng Sangluo, grabbed her collar, and roared, "I don't believe in evil spirits today! So what if my family is destroyed and my people die!"

“I made it very clear that day that three million would buy out our relationship. What right do you have to ask me for it now? Are you tired of living well enough, so you've come here to suffer?” Cheng Sangluo raised her chin and looked at the old man in front of her with a cold and arrogant gaze.

She gripped the other person's arm tightly and pried it with all her might, as if she were about to break it off.

Cheng's father winced in pain and raised his hand to slap Cheng Sang, but naturally missed.

Cheng Sangluo easily dodged the attack by tilting her head, blocking the swinging hand and using a technique of borrowing the opponent's force to strike back, thus giving the opponent a slap in the face.

"Cheng Sangluo!" Cheng Xing shouted when he saw this, and was about to rush over when Cheng Sangluo kicked him and sent him sprawling on his back.

He struggled to his feet from the carpet, cursing angrily, "Even if I gamble, I'm still better than you. You're a convict from the gutter, and you don't even help your own people? And you still think you're right?"

Cheng Sangluo had become immune to such insults. She shoved the man in front of her aside, took two steps in one, and strode up to Cheng Xing. She grabbed him by the back of his collar and shoved him viciously onto the sofa.

This family was indeed having a hard time. Cheng Xing wasn't short, but he was so thin that he was practically skin and bones, so he was no match for his sister's strength.

He was panting heavily, shouting, "Hit me! Hit me! You'd better kill me! That way you'll still be a rat in the gutter, never seeing the light of day. If we're not having a good time, you won't have one either! You look down on family like us, but don't forget, the blood flowing from your body is also rotting and stinking! As long as you're a convict, you'll always be a convict!"

Cheng Sangluo remained calm until the words "labor reform prisoner" appeared repeatedly, causing her eyes to turn bloodshot.

"Shut up!" She raised her hand and slapped Cheng Xing across the mouth. "You shameless vampires, you've ruined my future, endlessly sucking my blood, endlessly harassing me. What right do you have to laugh at me? I've never wronged you, you heartless beasts who eat people without spitting out the bones!"

Cheng Sangluo lost her temper, roared wildly, turned around, grabbed a fruit knife from the table, and held it to Cheng Xing's neck.

When she looked up, she realized she had been tricked, because at that moment Cheng's father was searching the house for anything valuable.

Cheng Xing continued laughing: "Do you dare? You've had enough of prison, you're not willing to give up your current life, so you don't dare, you don't dare to do anything to me!"

Cheng's mother rummaged through the refrigerator in the kitchen and filled several bags with food. When she returned to the living room and saw her daughter holding a knife, she was so frightened that she dropped the food and cried out, "Ah! Sangluo, stop!"

Mr. Cheng searched the entire house and found cash in the bedside table in the bedroom. It was pocket money that Lin Jin had specially left for the dog when she went on a business trip. The thick stacks of cash were worth at least tens of thousands of yuan.

Cheng Sangluo was reluctant to spend a single penny; even when booking plane tickets, she used her hard-earned money, which has now ended up in the pockets of this family.

As Mr. Cheng counted the money, spitting as he did so, he walked unhurriedly into the living room. When he saw his son with a knife to his neck, he showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, he complained to Mrs. Cheng, "What are you so afraid of? I bet she won't dare to do anything."

"Do you think I wouldn't dare?" Cheng Sangluo raised the fruit knife in her hand, and with a swift motion, knocked Cheng Xing unconscious by striking him with the handle, thus eliminating the biggest threat at the moment.

The elderly couple hadn't expected their daughter to actually do it. Cheng Sangluo didn't give them a chance to discuss it either. She rushed to her father and snatched the money that she hadn't even warmed yet, saying, "I told you, either you leave, or you're not leaving."

Cheng Sangluo's hair was disheveled and her clothes were wrinkled. She had nothing to say to this group of ghostly family members. She brandished her knife a few times and said, "You can't stand that I'm living better than you. Didn't you want your family to be destroyed? I'll grant your wish!"

She was hysterical, she felt utterly disgusted, she hated the people who had suddenly intruded into her peaceful life, and her heart was cold and desolate.

"Cheng Sangluo! Stop!"

Just as Cheng Sangluo was about to stab her father with a knife, a reprimand came from the doorway, forcing her to stop at the last minute.

The voice was so calm, devoid of any warmth, yet it concealed a subtle tremor of tension.

Lin Jin sat in a wheelchair, followed by Secretary Zhou and several bodyguards.

Her eyes were fixed on the knife in the puppy's hand, and her heart leaped into her throat as the puppy raised its arm.

Seeing that the puppy had stopped hurting her, she let out a heavy sigh. Her gaze drifted to the puppy's disheveled face, causing her brows to furrow tightly.

Cheng Sangluo turned to look at Lin Jin, who had suddenly appeared at the door. A look of surprise flashed in her eyes, which was then replaced by bewilderment.

Her fingertips trembled, and the fruit knife fell onto the tile. "Wife?"

Lin Jin gestured for Zhou Ran to push her into the living room and had the bodyguards block the door. Only when she was in front of the puppy did she sternly scold, "Look what you're doing! Wake up!"

As she spoke, she looked at Cheng's parents, who had lost their temper, and then turned to Cheng Xing, who was lying unconscious on the sofa. "Zhou Ran, go and see what's going on."

"No need to look, I knocked him unconscious." Cheng Sangluo admitted without being asked, and said nonchalantly, "Anyway, he won't die."

"Shut up." Lin Jin glared at the puppy, noticing that she was still clutching the pocket money he had left her, and ordered, "Go sit down and calm down. Don't say or do anything unless I ask you a question."

"I..." Cheng Sangluo wanted to say something, but was rendered speechless by Lin Jinsen's cold gaze.

She obediently sat down on the sofa, glaring resentfully at her parents who stood motionless in place.

Even though Lin Jin was in a wheelchair, the aura she exuded was still intimidating.

To be precise, her gaze was so intense it could devour someone; even before the scene had begun, she had already intimidated her opponent into a state of utter helplessness.

"You can't even rob a house properly, you deserve to live like lost ghosts." Lin Jin mocked, a disgusted sneer curling at the corner of his lips: "You dare to break into my house, do you want your precious son to lose another leg?"
