Chapter 62 One Million

As the younger brother of the district head, Duran has always been a force to be reckoned with in the district, and his shops are more successful than others.

But he has a new problem: his brother's birthday is coming soon, and in the resource-scarce area, the most common specialty is alien species.

He had already given his brother the jewelry he could get, and this matter had been bothering him for half a month until today when he saw an amazing obsidian on the street.

The only downside is that it sits on someone else's head.

But it doesn't matter, Durant's specialty is buying things for free, and he just happens to be a little short of funds lately.

When the gem was delivered, Duran never dreamed that his woman, or rather, his young girl, would block the door demanding something.

Gu Li looked at the middle-aged man in front of him, who was covered in the smell of pollution, and held his cane in front of him, blocking his way.

"Give me back my things."

It was the first time Duran had been confronted at his door, but he wasn't scared at all.

His gaze fell on the girl dressed in light colors, and a smile with three parts disdain, three parts contempt, and four parts arrogance appeared on his face: "Ah, it's you. I've confiscated your things. If you want money, I'll transfer it to you next month."

He regretfully instructed his subordinates to write down the young girl's account.

Since it was a gift for my brother, and the owner has come looking for it, I guess I'll just have to give it back anyway.

Unexpectedly, the girl decisively rejected his offer.

Gu Li stared expressionlessly at the burly man with a fierce face, feeling his patience gradually dwindling.

The silver cane swept through the air and pressed against Duran's double chin again: "I'll repeat myself once, give it back to me."

Duran maintained a fan-shaped expression on his face, waved his hand to stop the thugs behind him who were trying to step forward, and said the same thing: "I'll only say this once, little girl, I'll pay you the debt next month. I've requisitioned that thing."

He looked down at the thin, genetically weak human, a hint of pity in his eyes, uttered a string of numbers, and waited with a smile for the poor, genetically weak human to leave gratefully.

Then his gaze shifted, from the pale girl before him to the gray sky filled with clouds, and finally he fell to the ground with a thud.

He let out a painful cry, and before he could give any orders, the thugs behind him rushed forward.

Duran tremblingly stretched out his hand: "Wait..."

Immediately, someone stepped forward and helped him up, filled with righteous indignation: "Sir, you wait, we will make her pay the price."

Duran nearly choked on his breath, and a large, fan-like hand slapped him on the head: "Wait! All of you, come back here!"

Don't bother delivering it!

However, no one could hear him anymore. Before they rushed up, Gu Li rudely pulled a bottle of nutrient solution from his suitcase and put it in his mouth.

As her pain gradually subsided, her methods softened, and she used her cane to knock all the people to the ground.

The cane that Eric used as an ornament could be used as a footrest in Gu Li's hands, and she took a moment to pour an entire bottle of nutrients into her mouth.

Then he looked at Duran, whose entire body was jiggling with fat, and asked, "Can you give me back my things now?"

She felt a slight stinging pain in her wrist, which was not very noticeable amidst the intense pain in her body. She frowned slightly but ignored it for the time being.

Before Duran could utter a word, several spaceships suddenly stopped between the two of them, and Xu Feihe, fully armed, emerged from one of them.

His gaze swept quickly across the scene, and he swung out the electronic handcuffs in his hand, looking at Duran: "Street brawl, come with me, young master Du."

Xu Feihe then looked at Gu Li standing opposite him, his gaze lingering for a moment on her slightly twisted, thin wrists. The electronic shackles in his hands were replaced with gentler ropes.

"Miss, please come with me."

Gu Li glanced at the three people in the car who were clearly in a daze, then turned her head away as if she hadn't seen them. She shook the rope in her hand.

"Are you a cop?"

Xu Feihe paused, her words of comfort slightly weak. She looked at her own neat and handsome attire again, and her expression behind the mask became even more powerless.

He tapped the badge on his chest, and a virtual screen popped up displaying his identification.

“Enforcement team, Xu Feihe, it’s true that the cops are a bit rustic. Go up and sit down.”

Gu Li glanced at the sunny and cheerful young man on the screen, then looked at the man who exuded the aura of "I want to die," and wisely shut her mouth.

When she climbed up, the other three people consciously squeezed together, making room for half of the back row.

Gu Li, with the little cat face on her arm, sat down inside.

If those guys found out that she was invited to the police station for questioning on her very first day, she would definitely be laughed at for a year.

Xu Feihe picked up the group of people who had been beaten to the ground with one hand, threw them into the spaceship of the team members behind him, and sighed as he drove the whole carload of people back to the station.

Gu Li sat on the interrogation stool, covered with a blanket lovingly draped over her by a policewoman, and holding a cup of cloyingly sweet boiled water in her hands.

Xu Feihe took off his helmet and mask, revealing a young but dejected face, holding a pen in his hand.

"Name, age, place of origin? Why were you fighting? Where are your accomplices?"

Gu Li slurped up a mouthful of cloyingly sweet boiled water: "Gu Li, 18, District 1, no accomplices."

Xu Feihe: ...

Aside from the names, not a single answer was given affirmatively.

He coughed, turned on the lie detector, sighed, and asked the question again.

Gu Li glanced at him, sighed, and repeated it again.

Xu Feihe stared at the lie detector, which showed no abnormalities, and gave her a surprised look before scribbling on the board.
