Chapter 194 Hunting in the Enclosure (Part 1)

On a sunny day, the palace arranged a hunt for the Chen Kingdom delegation, and Tian Yu was invited. She really didn't want to go, but ultimately appeared at the hunting grounds and sat among a group of women. Everyone was dressed in their finest attire; since it was spring, some, not afraid of the cold, were already wearing gauze skirts. Tian Yu looked at her own simple attire and wondered if she looked too shabby.

Since meeting Li Xingyun, the princess has become indifferent to everything. She only made a brief appearance at the banquet before making an excuse to leave early. Now, upon seeing Tian Yu, she sat down and said, "How boring!"

“I think it’s quite fun,” Tian Yu said.

"Tianyu, let's find a way to escape!" the princess said.

"This is just the beginning, Princess, you'd better behave yourself," Tian Yu reminded her.

"I wonder what Brother Xingyun is doing?"

"Yes! He should be able to study properly without you by his side."

"What are you saying? Am I that noisy?"

"No! No! My brother will definitely be very happy and pleased."

"I have to go back soon, aren't you coming?"

"I think I'll stay! You be careful too."

"Don't worry! I have a way."

The hunt began, and the two countries held a competition. All the men went to the hunting grounds, including Pei Yuling. Watching her leap onto her horse with such grace, Tian Yu felt even more envious. If they weren't representing their own countries, Tian Yu would have almost cheered for her! After the hunters left, the remaining women gathered together, chatting and laughing. Li Weiwei and her group kept pointing and whispering about Tian Yu. When the princess was around, they pretended to listen, but now that the princess was gone, they were completely uninhibited. Tian Yu chose not to hear them and finally got up and left.

After wandering around the hunting grounds without seeing the princess, it seemed she had slipped away at the start of the hunt. How boring! Tian Yu walked into the jungle.

Seeing Tian Yu leave, Li Weiwei soon made an excuse to avoid the crowd and walked in another direction. Tian Yu approached the woods and saw a little rabbit, thinking she could catch it to take back to Tangyuan to play with, so she followed it, but lost it halfway. When she wanted to go back, she found that she was surrounded by woods and felt that she must be lost, but she still chose a path to follow, thinking that this was a hunting ground and she would definitely meet someone.

After walking for a while, Tian Yu felt tired and sat down to rest against a big tree. Hearing the sound of horses' hooves in the distance, Tian Yu thought, "Someone's coming, that's great!" Just as she stood up, she saw two people on horseback and quickly covered her mouth and squatted down again, because she saw Li Weiwei and the Crown Prince. Li Weiwei was hugging the Crown Prince, and the two looked very intimate.

Hiding among the books, Tian Yu wondered when the Crown Prince and Li Weiwei had gotten together. Wasn't Li Weiwei about to marry into the Chen Kingdom? The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed. Tian Yu peeked out and saw that the two had dismounted and separated, talking. It was too far away to hear clearly, so Tian Yu tried to slowly approach them before she heard Li Weiwei say, aggrieved, "Does Brother Ziqian intend to watch Weiwei marry someone else?!"

"This is my father's will, and I cannot change it."

"But I already have our child."

Not only was the Crown Prince surprised, but Tian Yu was even more shocked. Hearing such explosive news, she was so startled she almost made a commotion. Realizing she shouldn't have eavesdropped and that it was best to leave quickly, she cautiously took a step back. Turning around, she saw Zhao Moyan, and nearly screamed. Luckily, Zhao Moyan quickly covered her mouth, telling her to be quiet. Tian Yu nodded, but before she could calm down, she saw Prince Wu appear behind Zhao Moyan. Tian Yu was stunned again, then the Third Prince, the Sixth Prince, and finally a soldier. Her eyebrows and eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in shock. Everyone instinctively crouched in the grass behind the big tree, not daring to move, and smiled slightly at Tian Yu, signaling her to be quiet. Tian Yu nodded repeatedly. Just then, she heard the two outside start arguing again. The Crown Prince, after his initial surprise, quickly recovered and said, "Are you sure the child is mine?!"

"Brother Ziqian, what do you mean? You know what happened on the Lantern Festival."

"Don't mention that day to me. If you hadn't seduced me, I wouldn't be with you!"

"What do you mean, Brother Ziqian? If Brother Ziqian doesn't like Weiwei, then no matter what Weiwei does, it's useless, right?"

"Yes! You may have some beauty, but don't forget I am the Crown Prince. How dare you scheme against me!"

"No! I just want to stay by Ziqian's side."

"Enough! Don't call me Brother Ziqian, you don't deserve it!"

"I know I am unworthy, but we already have a child. For the sake of the child, Your Highness, please let me stay!"

"Fine! I've been waiting here. Tell me! Was this all part of your plan from the very beginning?" The prince said angrily, grabbing Li Weiwei by the neck.

"I didn't. Weiwei just likes the Crown Prince and wants to be with him. Is that wrong?!"

"You like me! Fine! Then you can die first!" The Crown Prince gripped Li Weiwei's neck tightly. Tian Yu turned around and saw this scene, so frightened she almost fell to the ground. Luckily, Zhao Moyan caught her, but a slight sound was made. The Crown Prince immediately released Li Weiwei and looked warily at the bushes where Tian Yu and the others were, shouting loudly, "Who is it! Come out!"

Tian Yu glanced at the people behind her, and they all looked back as well. No one wanted to go out and die. Finally, their gazes fell on the soldier. The soldier looked at the people in front of him, his eyes resolute, and clasped his hands in a fist and nodded. The three princes nodded, which gave him courage. The soldier slowly stood up, lowered his head, and walked step by step to the crown prince, kneeling down and saying, "I was just passing by and didn't hear anything. Your Highness, spare my life! Your Highness, spare my life!"

"Did I ask you? Didn't you hear anything?" The prince grinned wickedly, drawing his sword and approaching the soldier step by step. The soldier was trembling with fear, but dared not betray them. Tian Yu couldn't stand it any longer. Just as the prince raised his sword to stab the soldier, she suddenly stood up. Zhao Moyan couldn't stop her, and Li Weiwei screamed in fright, successfully stopping the prince. The prince glared at Tian Yu with eyes blazing with anger. Tian Yu smiled awkwardly and waved, saying, "Hello! Long time no see." After saying that, she realized what she had just said; they had just met before the hunt.

"Tian Yu! You're here too, everyone else, come out!" The Crown Prince sheathed his sword and said with a wicked smile.

"That's all! Just him and me." Tian Yu pointed to the soldier who was slumped on the ground in fright. But when she saw the terrified look on Li Weiwei's face as she looked behind her, Tian Yu turned around in confusion and saw Zhao Moyan and the others standing up one by one and bowing to the Crown Prince. Tian Yu was speechless. Was it appropriate to be so polite at a time like this?

Tian Yu patted her forehead and laughed, saying, "We came here to catch rabbits, but we got lost. The prince and princess can chat slowly, no rush! We still need to find rabbits, so we won't disturb you." After saying that, she pulled Zhao Moyan behind her and prepared to slip away.

"It seems you've all heard it. Then leave them all here! This soldier must die." The prince drew his arrow again and said to Tian Yu.

"Well, that soldier is innocent. He didn't hear anything. He was called away as soon as he arrived," Tian Yu quickly explained.

"You care so much about this soldier, what's your relationship with him?" the prince asked.

“I don’t know him!” Tian Yu said, and Xiao Bing shook his head as well.

“My brother really doesn’t know anything,” the Sixth Prince interjected.

Before anyone could react, the Crown Prince swung his sword and killed the soldier on the ground. Tian Yu screamed in fright, and Zhao Moyan behind her reached out and pulled her into his arms, covering her eyes. Tian Yu trembled uncontrollably, too scared to look. She thought to herself, "How could this person be so perverted? That was a person. How could he just kill him like that?" Even though she had seen murder before, she still couldn't get used to such a bloody scene.
