Qin Luo traveled to a world of cultivation where demons ran rampant. To protect himself, he came to the Dragon and Tiger Monastery to learn from a master, only to find out that his master was a swi...
Qingyang Temple.
The projection of the Sun Emperor disappeared.
The younger generation was excited, never expecting to meet the legendary Sun Emperor. The older generation of powerful figures looked on with awe, for Qin Luo was someone even the Sun Emperor revered.
Qin Luo prepared to continue his journey. He cupped his hands in greeting and said, "Senior, we shall meet again."
Lu Qingshan smiled warmly, "Master Qin, why don't you rest at Qingyang Temple for the night before you leave?"
"Do you have meat?"
The little dumpling tilted its head.
Lu Qingshan shook his head and chuckled, then said seriously, "There's no meat, but we can find a way."
Qin Luo coughed softly. The little dumpling sensed danger and grinned foolishly, "Hehe, senior, I was just kidding. Don't take it seriously. I'll treat you to some melon seeds."
The little dumpling put its hand into its pocket.
When Lu Qingshan saw the little dumpling offering his fist, he stretched out his hand, and two melon seeds fell into his palm.
Qin Luo, with his refined and easygoing manner, said softly, "Senior, we still have a long way to go, so we won't disturb you any longer."
"Master Qin, you've come from afar, why not have a cup of tea before you leave?" Lu Qingshan wanted to show his hospitality.
"Then I'll have to trouble you, senior."
Qin Luo did not refuse his kindness.
Lu Qingshan led Qin Luo and the others to the backyard of the Taoist temple. The moonlight was broken by the bamboo forest and scattered all over the ground.
Qin Luo and Lu Qingshan sat facing each other.
Stone, carrying a black pot on his back, stood beside Qin Luo.
Lu Qingshan took out an old tea set. The tea leaves he took out were covered with a light white frost. Qin Luo had never seen this kind of tea before. "Senior, what kind of tea is this?"
"This is white tea."
Lu Qingshan poured the tea leaves into the teapot. "These tea leaves have been used many times. It's a rule set by our ancestor that everything can be discarded except for these tea leaves. We can use these tea leaves to make tea when we're discussing the Dao."
The little dumpling, with its legs crossed, said crisply, "A cup of tea can be passed down through three generations; the person may be gone, but the tea remains?"
"More than three generations."
Lu Qingshan poured hot water into the teapot and said meaningfully, "This water comes from heaven."
The little dumpling blinked, its eyes sparkling with laughter. "Senior, could this be divine water from heaven?"
"It's rainwater from the sky."
Lu Qingshan explained with a smile.
The little dumpling immediately lost interest.
Stone watched them chat quietly.
Lu Qingshan poured a cup of hot tea, held it up, and said respectfully, "Master Qin, please have some tea!"
Qin Luo stretched out his hands and took the teacup. The tea was crystal clear and still steaming.
The tea looked unremarkable. Qin Luo took a sip. The tea was bland. He had drunk many kinds of tea, some were very fragrant, some were very bitter, and some had a rich flavor, but this cup of tea had no taste. Even the spring water and well water he had drunk had a slightly sweet taste.
This tea is very interesting.
Qin Luo closed his eyes and carefully felt it.
Lu Qingshan then picked up a teacup and handed it to the little girl, saying, "Little fairy, please have some tea."
The little dumpling shook her head repeatedly, thinking of the rootless tea she had drunk last time. "I'm not stupid!"
Lu Qingshan didn't try to persuade him. He put the cup of tea aside, poured himself another cup, and said with a smile, "Little guy, sit down and have a cup of tea."
Shi Tou did not sit down. He took the teacup, bowed, and said, "Thank you, senior."
Lu Qingshan nodded slightly.
He drank the cup of tea meant for the little dumpling.
Suddenly,
The courtyard was brightly lit, a gentle breeze bent the green bamboo, and moonlight shone into the courtyard.
Lu Qingshan couldn't help but look at Qin Luo.
Qin Luo slowly opened his eyes, a fleeting, chaotic light passing through them. "Good tea!"
Lu Qingshan looked at the teacup in his hand. He had just taken a sip, and it tasted the same as before. "I wonder what Daoist Qin found to be the flavor?"
Tasteless.
"It is also the ultimate flavor."
Qin Luo continued drinking his tea.
Lu Qingshan held the teacup and rubbed it, pondering Qin Luo's words: "Tastelessness is also the ultimate flavor."
Many powerful elders have tasted this tea, and they all say it has no flavor. But Qin Luo says that tastelessness is also the ultimate flavor.
After finishing the tea poured by Lu Qingshan, Qin Luo said with a smile, "Thank you for your hospitality, senior."
Seeing Qin Luo about to leave, Lu Qingshan took out a very old Taoist scripture and said respectfully, "Taoist Master Qin, this is a Taoist scripture passed down by the founder of Qingyang Temple. It is what he gained from his life's enlightenment, but unfortunately some parts are missing."
Qin Luo was somewhat surprised, "Senior, why are you giving me such a valuable Daoist scripture?"
Lu Qingshan said earnestly, "This humble Taoist would like to know what Master Qin meant by 'tasteless' and 'ultimate flavor'."
Qin Luo took the Taoist scripture, which was missing a lot, and said with a smile, "All things begin from nothing, and something comes from nothing. One can taste the myriad flavors of life in the tasteless. Perhaps the founder of Qingyang Temple wanted to tell the descendants of Qingyang Temple that simplicity is the true essence of life."
Lu Qingshan was taken aback, then said self-deprecatingly, "Abbot Gu is right. My cultivation level is not high enough. Even though I live deep in the mountains, far from the secular world, I still cannot achieve a state of non-contention with the world."
Qin Luo handed the Daoist scripture back, bowed slightly, and said softly, "Senior, the Dharma is not to be passed on lightly, and the Dao is not to be sold cheaply. Please keep the ancestral Daoist scripture safe."
Lu Qingshan took the Daoist scripture, and he suddenly felt that the scripture in his hand had become heavy. The originally incomplete scripture had been restored to its complete state, and he couldn't help but widen his eyes.
No wonder even the Emperor respected the young Taoist priest before him. Lu Qingshan's hands trembled as he bowed deeply, "Taoist Master Qin, please accept my bow!"
Qin Luo quickly took Lu Qingshan's arm and said, "Senior, the Emperor said that all the Daoist sects under heaven are one family. Why are you being so polite? We will meet again someday."
Lu Qingshan was filled with mixed feelings. From Shuiyuntai to now, he had experienced too much in one day and gained more insights than he had in most of his previous life.
Qin Luo left Qingyang Temple with the stone.
