Who Made You Cultivate Seriously?

Chapter 279 Journey to Wushan

Zhou Qing looked somewhat excited. He hadn't recognized Qin Luo at first glance, but he hadn't expected that Master Qin would remember his name.

Once upon a time, the Hermit of Floating Clouds was a recluse in the deep mountains, living a life of immortality and not caring about worldly affairs. Now, he has actually come out of the mountains to slay demons and monsters. Qin Luo originally wanted to come and have tea with him to discuss the Dao.

Qin Luo looked at Hua Ying beside him and said with a smile, "He is Zhou Qing, the disciple of Fuyun Jushi. These are my friends: A Zi, Xuan Qing, and Xiao Die."

Zhou Qing knew that Qin Luo's friends were definitely not ordinary people. He took off his straw hat and bowed to each of them, asking, "Master Qin, where are you all headed?"

"Let's go back to Longhu Temple."

Are you walking back?

"Yes, I want to measure the world with my own two feet."

Zhou Qing sensed that this was no ordinary person. He smiled innocently and said, "Master Qin, it's getting dark. Why don't you go to Yangxinzhai for a cup of tea and rest for the night before leaving tomorrow?"

Qin Luo looked at Hua Ying, and seeing that they had no objections, he smiled and nodded, "Then I'll take my leave."

"Before my master left, he specifically instructed me that if Master Qin were to come, I should treat you well."

"After you return, we would like to trouble you to convey our regards to our senior."

"no problem."

Zhou Qing led Qin Luo and the others into Yangxinzhai, deep in the bamboo forest. In the largest bamboo house in the middle, there was only a very low tea table with a tea set on it.

Qin Luo noticed three books propped up on the corner of the table. Zhou Qing also saw the three books and immediately became nervous. "Master Qin, before my master left, he entrusted these three books to me for safekeeping. I don't know where to hide them properly."

"It's alright."

Qin Luo sat down on the ground.

He actually thought Zhou Qing was very honest.

The three books propped up on the corner of the table were gifts from Qin Luo, Chu Peiran, and Master Guichen to Layman Fuyun. Since Layman Fuyun gave them to Zhou Qing, he could put them wherever he wanted.

Hua Ying sat down next to Qin Luo.

Xiao Die stood obediently beside Qin Luo, like a little maid. Xuan Qing imitated her and stood like that. Qin Luo couldn't help but laugh when she saw them. "No matter where you are, as long as you're with me, feel free to do whatever you want."

"Please, have a seat!"

Zhou Qing said warmly.

Xiao Die and Xuan Qing sat on either side.

Zhou Qing used a teapot to fetch some spring water, then heated it over a small stove. He sat cross-legged opposite Qin Luo and brewed tea. His tea-brewing technique was impressive, and Xiao Die watched intently as each step was performed with such skill.

"Master Qin, please have some tea!"

Zhou Qing handed the first cup of tea to Qin Luo.

Qin Luo picked up the teacup and took a sip. The tea was fragrant and refreshing. "I've drunk so much tea, but Yangxinzhai's tea is still the best."

"Master Qin is joking."

Zhou Qing shook his head somewhat embarrassedly and handed the second cup of tea to Hua Ying, saying, "Please have some tea, Fairy!"

"Thanks."

Hua Ying took a small sip and nodded gently, "This tea is indeed very good."

They had drunk tea from Fuyun Jushi at Qinghelou, and the taste was completely different from that of Yangxinzhai. The main difference was in the tea-making techniques, since Zhou Qing was Fuyun Jushi's disciple.

Even when facing Xuanqing and Xiaodie, Zhou Qing was respectful, saying, "Little fairy, please have some tea."

"Thanks!"

...

After serving the tea, Zhou Qing slowly stood up. "Master Qin, I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back soon."

"good."

Qin Luo nodded with a smile.

Zhou Qing left the bamboo house quietly.

Xuan Qing held the teacup with both hands, squinted his eyes, and had a contented expression. "This tea is really refreshing."

"Nothing to do in the mountains makes for good tea."

Xiaodie blinked, not understanding what Qin Luo meant. She carefully recalled Zhou Qing's tea-making steps and murmured, "So there's so much to learn about making tea."

As the sun set, Xuanqing caught a whiff of the aroma and couldn't help but swallow hard. "What's that smell? It smells so good!"

Before long, Zhou Qing returned to the house carrying a large plate of scallion pancakes. He said with great enthusiasm, "Master Qin, there's nothing good to eat at Yangxinzhai, please forgive me."

"Don't say that, this is still Master Guichen's favorite scallion pancake." Qin Luo bowed to express his gratitude.

"Scallion pancakes taste best when eaten hot."

Zhou Qing said with a smile.

Qin Luo picked up a scallion pancake, tore it in half, and handed it to Hua Ying, knowing that she didn't like to eat much.

"Mmm! It smells so good! This scallion pancake is really delicious!" Xuan Qing took a bite of the pancake and a sip of tea, enjoying it immensely.

...

The bamboo forest offers a tranquil environment.

As the sun sets and the moon rises, stars twinkle outside the window.

Qin Luo ate his scallion pancake, looking at Zhou Qing who was sitting cross-legged. "Living alone in the deep mountains, are you getting used to it?"

Zhou Qing chuckled and said, "It's very comfortable in the mountains. There aren't many troubles. We work at sunrise and rest at sunset. Once you get used to this kind of life, it's not so bad."

Xuanqing asked curiously, "Aren't you bored?"

“When I’m bored, I go fishing by the stream,” Zhou Qing said, pointing to the simple fishing rod placed in the corner.

Qin Luo saw the fishing rod made of bamboo branches and asked, "Did you not tie a hook to it, or was it never supposed to be?"

Zhou Qing replied with a smile, "My master said that the Azure Emperor could catch fish even without a hook, so I followed his example."

"What a willing victim!"

"Don't laugh at me, Master Qin, but I've been by the stream for three years and three years in a row, and I still haven't caught a single fish."

"You're quite persistent."

“Master said that this can temper one’s Dao heart.”

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Xiao Die and Xuan Qing listened attentively, while Hua Ying ate her scallion pancakes slowly. Qin Luo looked at the three books on the corner of the table, which were covered in a thick layer of dust, and asked with a smile, "Have you never thought about cultivating these techniques?"
