The Jade Emperor nodded slightly, then raised his hand and pointed, and the List of Gods immediately appeared in front of the Jade Emperor above the sky.

Soon, the Jade Emperor said: "The Investiture of the Gods has appeared. I have completed my merits and virtues. I should resign from my position as the ruler of the Heavenly Court and seek the mysteries of the higher realms."

Upon hearing the words of the Jade Emperor, everyone present was shocked except Taishang Laojun, Dipankara Buddha, Eastern Buddha, Chaos Demon, and the Four Great Emperors.

Even Fang Jian was horrified and hurriedly bowed, saying, "The Great Celestial Venerable is the ruler of Heaven, ruling over the Three Realms. If the Great Celestial Venerable steps down, what will become of Heaven and all the beings in the Three Realms? Please, Great Celestial Venerable, revoke your order!"

"Please, Great Celestial Venerable, revoke your order." At this moment, no matter what everyone present was thinking, they all followed Fang Jian and asked the Jade Emperor, Great Celestial Venerable, to revoke his order.

The Jade Emperor smiled and said, "My fellow immortals, there is no need to be so. Since I ascended the throne as the sovereign of the Three Realms, I have experienced five great calamities and trillions of times. Now that my merits and virtues are complete, I should follow the path of my fellow Taoist and seek the higher realms."

Hearing this, the gods and immortals were even more surprised. The Supreme Daoist Ancestor went to seek the upper realm, but this time he found nothing. There was no trace of the Supreme Daoist Ancestor at all in the Great Dao.

Even the people in the Taoist sect sometimes couldn't help but secretly wonder whether this pursuit of the higher realm would mean returning to the origin of the ultimate truth, and having nothing left.

Fang Jian immediately bowed and said, "I beg the Great Celestial Venerable to revoke your order. The gods of Heaven and all the beings in the Three Realms rely on your grace. Please do not abandon us."

Afterwards, all the emperors and gods in heaven bowed to the Jade Emperor and begged him to revoke his order, and their words were extremely sincere.

Indeed, everyone in Heaven has become accustomed to the existence of the Great Celestial Lord. With the Great Celestial Lord around, everyone in Heaven feels like they have a strong support behind them.

Now that this powerful support is leaving, the gods in heaven seem to feel a little empty in their hearts, especially since the Three Realms are not stable now. The departure of the Great Celestial Venerable really makes people feel uneasy.

Hearing the earnest pleas and heartfelt requests from the gods in heaven, led by the Four Emperors of Lingxiao, the Jade Emperor was also quite touched.

"When I first established the Heavenly Court, it was in ruins. There were only a dozen Heavenly Generals and a little over 100,000 Heavenly Soldiers. Back then, rather than being the ruler of the Three Realms, the Heavenly Court was a force weaker than Taoism and Buddhism."

"Later, fortunately, with the assistance of the Four Great Emperors and the Heavenly Star Lords, I was able to conquer the Three Realms, conquer the rebels, establish the Dao, and rule over all the lands."

After hearing about the initial events of the Jade Emperor's rise to power, the Four Emperors were also quite emotional. At the beginning, it was the Emperor of Purple Star and the Emperor of Gou Chen who led the Zhoutian Star Gods to assist the Jade Emperor in ascending the throne. People only know that Nuwa repaired the sky, but they don’t know that Houtu repaired the earth. Because of this, Houtu became the god in charge of all the earth, and with this merit, she became the fourth emperor of heaven: the god of Houtu who follows the example of heaven and glorifies the earth.

As the Jade Emperor told the story, the difficult journey of the new generation of Heavenly Court since the fall of Donghuang Taiyi was clearly presented in the minds of Fang Jian and all the gods in Heaven.

Except for the Four Great Emperors, most of the emperors and gods in heaven were actively sought out, cultivated, discovered, and promoted by the Jade Emperor.
